  1. Y and p needs Qx xxxx xxxx Kxx and game is very good. And Having Qx xxx Axxx KDxx, do u really expect partner to make a move over 3♠? And as you can see you are almost cold for slam.........
  2. 1♣ 100%. Planning to rebid GF 2♠ over 1♥ or 1♦. I always respond with a sensible 5 count, occasionaly with exceptional 4, so we will not be missing game very often. And if p has a response we are much better placed than when he opens 2NT. I dont have problems opening NT off shape, but I do not see the gain in this situation.
  3. I am playing the A of ♦. Partner will discourage if he wants a ♣ ruff, he could have lead from QJxx. If he discourages I will play the 2 of ♣ as suit pref. Playing low ♣ would be a disaster if declarer has a singleton and discards a losing ♦. If he encourages, I will play onother top ♦ and exit with a ♥. If p has an honour we are getting 4 tricks. With my partner we have the agreement we always give SP when an ace is lead so after the ace of diamonds partner will surely tell me what is right. So instead of guessing I will listen to partner's signal. If you were playing rusinow leads u wouldnt have a problem at all :)
  4. I do not see any reason to get in the action. If it goes pass pass, partner will surely balance, and I will be happy to play 2♠ (partner can have 5 ♠ and was too weak to overcall or his suit was too bad) or 3 of minor. If I bid now I am telling the oponents that I have all the points and the most of my distribution. This information may help declarer in 4♥, should they bid it. If partner does not balance, this means that he will surely have 3 and I will be happy to defend 2♥. Besides bidding now has a bid risk for writing -500/800 since my spots in the minors are awful and it is likely that I get only 1 or 2 trump tricks........
  5. I think its way better to play 5♥ as asking for the highest (or lowest) king available. So after 5♥, u respond 5♠ if u dont have the ♠ King, 5NT spade King and no Heart King, 6Clubs, Spade and Heart King but no Club king etc.
  6. Blame the system. Playing strong ♣ you would easily be in 6. 1♣-1♦-1♠-3♦. If the oponents interfere with their ♦ even better, S will quickly figure out he has a monster
  7. It looks like declarer has ?xxx KQJxxx x xx. If p has the King of ♠, we also have 5 tricks, so in order to have a problem we assume that declarer has Kxxx KQJxxx x xx. In this case is neccesay to win the queen of ♥ and shift to a ♣ to cut communication (and hope p has the J of ♣). If declarer plays a ♦ we ruff low, if he plays a ♠ we duck, so that p can win the second round of ♠ and play a ♣ through cutting declarer from dummy. If p doesnt have the J of ♣ and has the King of ♠ we can ruff a ♦ high and simply play Ace and another ♠ for 1 down
  8. How about 4♥. Should be splinter with ♠ fit and shows maximum. Cant think of a better discription of the hand. 3NT cannot be right when p cannot bid 1NT. If opener can have a very strong balanced hand for his double (22-23), I would bid X responsive and raise 2NT to 3NT, over 2♠ or 3♦, I am bidding 4♥, over 3♣, 3♥, planning to raise p to game whatever he bids.
  9. Hi, I would start with 1♦-1♥ 1♠ -2♣ (artificial asking for 3 hearts, the only forcing bid) 2♥ (minimum 3 hearts) - 3♣ (natural GF, either a 5card suit or a balanced hand without ♦ stopper) 3NT (showing a very good ♦ stopper) Now responder can try 4♣ RKCB for ♣ sighning off in 4NT if he hears 4♦ (p I dont want to play slam in ♣). Having already shown a minimum hand and having 3 clubs, opener will certainly respond 4♥ 1/4 keycards and a small slam will be reached.
  10. I can see myself bidding 4♥ on x KJ10xxxx - KQxx or xx KQ9xxxxx x KQ, where 5 could be too high. Playing with a solid preempter I may try 5♥ if I am in the right mood.
  11. Playing strong club the auction will start 1♣-1♠-1NT-3♦- and after RKCB opener will setle for a small slam. 1NT 17-19 balanced 3!d splinter Sry for the double post
  12. Playing strong club the auction will start 1!♣-1!♠-1NT-3!♦- and after RKCB opener will setle for a small slam. 1NT 17-19 balanced 3!d splinter
  13. I am bidding 3♠, I do not see any alternative. If I bid 3NT, the contract will be most likely wrongsided, (besides I only have a half stop in their suit), 3♥ would show either 4card suit or Hxx. If P bids 3NT i pass, if he makes a cuebid I will bid 4♠.
  14. Parntner has all keycards, if he didnt he would just bid 6. So 7♣ is pretty obvious to me.
  15. A clear 4♠ for me, I want to play in 4♠, no matter if partner has good hand, in which case 4♠ will probably be the right contract. Even if we are in misfit and I open 1♠ my partner will force me to game, so we will probably end up in 4♠ anyway. If opps have game, it will be difficult to find after 4♠.
  16. I m also opening this 1♥, with a ♠ void and only 19 HCP i dont see any chance of this being passed out. Playing 2/1 I m planning to bid gazzili 2♣ over 1♠ or 1nt, showing 17+/balanced or 2524 12-14/15-16 with clubs. Partner responds 2♦ 8+ and 3♥ shows a very good 17+ hand with a suit playable opposite a void, which is what i have. Now p doesnt have the chance to bid his ♦ natural so he will probably settle for game. Opening 2♣ will also not get us in 6♦ since we have the ♦ weak 2 in there, so 3♦ would be ♦preempt. 1♥-1♠ 2♣-2♦ 3♥-4♥
  17. I would pass 3♠. If p doubles I would bid 3nt, if he bids 4♦, I raise to 5, on 4♣ I bid 4♦, if he bids something else i would be happy to pass. Having bid 4♦ I will surely pass 4♥ Regards, Yordan
  18. On the deal you hold: 10xxx x AKJxxx Kx Partner opens 1♥ in second seat, next op bids 2NT. I double, showing interest to penalize the ops and after 3♣ pass pass its my bid again. We have no clear agreement what a pass over 3♣ means, a double would have been penalty. Do u pass, try 3nt or bid something else?
  19. Hi all, Me and my p have been playing 2/1 for some time and we have an agreement that 1M-2m-2M shows a 6 card suit. This means that with minimum Strenght and 5-4 we rebid 2nt. The problem is that after that the 3NT contract is often wrongsided. (Declarer has a singletone in the inbid suit). On the other hand I like that 2M shows 6cards, and we are able to find our fit on the second level. Feel free to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both methods and share your experience
  20. Hi guys, Can you recommend me an advanced book describing 2/1 system? Thank you in advance. Yordan
