  1. We play reverse Gap. 2NT is non superaccept and 3♣ is superaccept, 3+ ♣ and an A,K or Q in Clubs Thank You
  2. [hv=pc=n&s=sa6h85daq5ckj8532&n=sqjhaq6dj762caq76&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1np2sp3cp3d]266|200[/hv] 2♠ was a transfer to ♣ and 3♣ was super acceptance. 3 ♦ was intended to be a cue bid however partner believes that it should have been a splinter We arrived in 6♣ making. Spade and Heart finesse on, diamond not. Question : Is 3♦ a cuebid or a splinter? Thank you
  3. [hv=pc=n&s=sa873ht7daq5cj742&n=s6haqj6542d7ckq85]133|200|West is dealer and passes[/hv] Should North open 4♥ or 1♥?? Opinions welcomed Thank you
  4. Bidding goes 1♦- P-P- 2NT. What should 2NT bid show??
  5. I was having a discussion with a friend / partner and she said 80% of bridge is bidding. I said that since you spent 50% of the time defending how can that be. Bidding is what separates the top top bridge player from the rest of us however I believe that intermediate players and even most good players can best improve their game working on defense and declarer play. I believe these come first. They are the easiest to a person to work on by himself. Better bidding will follow and might be easier at that time. I am assuming that the basics of bidding {Stayman, transfers, blackwood, etc] should be a top priority but other things can wait. Opinions please!!!!
  6. A double here by me would be negative showing 4 card ♥ suit etc. I agree that I could/should have bid ♦ or NT somewhere along the line. I chose to wait for a reopening double so that I could leave it in for penalty.
  7. [hv=pc=n&s=sak85h987da752cj3&n=s6haq642dkqjt84c5&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1d2spp3d4c]266|200[/hv] I sitting south doubled for penalty and they rolled the contract. I am telling my partner that if you are not going to reverse with this hand you should open 1 ♥ We can make 5 on a ♠ lead otherwise we make 4♥ If North rebids 3♥ and again 4♥ we are in our best spot I could have and maybe should have raised 3♦ to 4♦ East held ♠QJ10xxx, ♥ x, ♦ void, ♣ Q10xxxx OPINIONS PLEASE
  8. Sorry for confusion. The dummy had 10&8 of diamonds and the only 2 missing trump ♠ Declarer is in his hand with 4 cards none of which are diamonds. Declarer's original diamonds were 9 and a smaller one. The Q of diamonds had been played earlier
  9. The hand as given is why you should not play stolen bids. Since double for penalty is not available I would bid 3 Spades stayman and if that is not stayman I guess I would bid 3NT and hope partner has a Spade stopper or pulls it if he doesn"t
  10. Declarer is in his hand. 4 cards to play. Two Spades and 10&8 of diamonds. Spades are trump. Dummy has 2spades all trump is gone except 2 in dummy. Dummy also has 2 diamonds, 10&8. The A,K,Q &9 have been played. A,K being in original dummy and 9 in declarer hand. Declarer claims stating I have to give you 2 diamonds. Making 4 Spades I being dummy state that 1 of diamonds is good. Therefore making 5 Whom is correct??? Can you lose 2 diamonds here? Thank you
  11. 2NT was 15-18 count balanced 4NT was blackwood Bidding was 1D-P-4NT-P 4H Sorry
  12. Tonight at the local club we had back to back insufficient bids which were conventional. My question is whether the rulings were correct? A: bidding 2S-2NT-P-2D Director allowed this to be corrected to 3D in that 3D had same meaning as 2D [both transfers to Hearts] B: bidding 1D-4NT-P-4H Director said that 5H would not have same meaning as 4H therefore partner will be bared after 4H bid is made sufficient by any bid. [Chose bid 6D] Comments
  13. Spade 10 using coded 9&10's otherwise Spade J
  14. After RHO passes What is your opening bid holding void, J10xxxxxx,xx,AKx
  15. I would bid 4NT asking for Keycards. With 2 Keycards 6 Spades With 3 Keycards I would bid 5NT showing all controls and after hearing partner reply would think about 7Spades or 6NT
  16. RHO opens 1 Spade and you double holding x,A10x,KQJx,KJxxx LHO raises to 2S and it passes back to you. 1. Do you have enough to double again? 2. Can you bid 3 Clubs with your 5 clubs and 14 pts 3. or must you pass? Thank you
  17. Holding Q10,10983, K965,AQJ Why would one open 1D and after partner bid 1S rebid 2D? I apparently do not understand their systems!!! When I asked they told me that if they would have rebid 1NT it shows 15-17 pt NT Why didn't they open 1NT 12-15 to begin with?? Can someone explain "modified KS" Thank you
  18. Opening lead out of turn Is Dummy allowed to be first to bring attention to this infraction?? Thank you
  19. What should one have to bid a new suit after partner opens 1st seat 3 of a minor. And should it be forcing? Thanks for any opinions
  20. It was in a Team game IMP scoring. Both of our Convention Cards inticate that over opponents double jump shifts are weak
  21. Bidding goes 1D-X-3C-P [ asked about 3C and was told lots of Clubs and some points] 3D- all pass Before opening lead I told the person making the lead that 3C [7 Clubs and 5 points] was weak as our CC both had. Director was called and he allowed the doubler to change his bid which he changed to double Down 3 Was this correct? Thank you
  22. At the local game a defender revoked on the 2nd trick in the trump suit. On the 12th trick declarer played his cards and claimed. Dummy asked to see REVOKER's last card; REVOKER obviously had a trump left by his mannerism at quickly laying down last 2 cards and a earlier hesitation when a trump was lead. REVOKER said dummy could not ask and quickly shuffled his cards. Director could easily determine that REVOKER had a trump and his partner had even said to REVOKER "no Hearts" and REVOKER replied "none" Director gave a 1 trick penalty however I believe that there should have been a procedure penalty Comments Thank You
  23. Playing kokish what is 3♥ with no interference 2♣-2♦-3♥ Thank you
