  1. Partner is on lead in a NT contract. He leads K. It is our agreement that KING asks for attitude. From J104 does partner play the J? This has always been my understanding. In a group discussion there was disagreement. Opinions
  2. I am most concerned about waiting 5 minutes. Seems we were only one punished by needing to wait
  3. When one opponent does not have a convention card what is the proper procedure? On questioning a bid after dummy was tabled dummy card was not marked in that area and declarer had no card. Dummy said there was a failure to alert was reason question was brought up. They were playing a modified Big Club System. Director told player with out card that before next board is played he must have card or they will be require to play Yellow CARD. Player then proceeded to fill out card while we waited for 5 minutes. Director ignored our complaint but did say if we didn't finish they would be the one penalized. TEAM GAME Is this right?
  4. Bidding goes : 1♠-2♣-2♠ - double Playing maximal doubles is this a club raise? I say no. I thought maximal double needs to be made by one initiating ♣ Can not be penalty double, I believe. Should be responsive double for hearts /diamonds. Advancer could bid 3♣ and then partner would have to act to get to game OR Advancer might bid 3♠to see if partner interested HELP and THANK YOU for opinions
  5. 2♥ or 2♦. Almost a toss up. I guess 2♥ because of AJx
  6. Thank you for your reply Questions: #1 What should 2♠ a cue bid mean? Asking about a control? #2 I am answering my own question here but 3♣ should be help suit for ♣ ? #3 And is 2NT a general game try? Thank you

  10. What is the best way to handle a 2-3-4-4 hand after partner opens 1 Spade?? You have 15-17 pts and you will probably end in NT. I am talking more about responders 2nd & 3rd etc bids lets say Kx, Axx, KJxx, KQxx Partner opens 1 ♠ Thank you
  11. What should an opening 4 of a Major look like? 1st seat, 2nd seat , 3rd seat and 4th seat. My partner and I are not in total agreement I don't like an outside Ace 1st or 2nd seat Prefer it to be pre-emtive 8 card suit 3rd seat anything goes. 4th seat bid what I believe I can make Don't care to use Namyats. Could be talked into it!! Thank you
  12. When [lets say North] bids a bid that is insufficient, what is the correct procedure to follow? #1 can anyone [ including South] call the director? #2 Can East just ignore the bid and bid as he wishes without calling the director? #3 does it make a difference if a. bid was wrong card pulled by North? b. Bid was a cue bid of an opponent? c. bid was conventional? What happens too often is that someone says "insufficient bid" and North changes bid without director being called
  13. Does some know what RED CLUB is? They open 2♥ and say they play RED CLUB and further explain that it shows Hearts 5+, 11-15 pts and some distribution Same with 2♠ 11-15 pts 5+ spades and distributional. I believe that this is their own creation since I can not any reference to it anywhere. My big question is: If this is their creation are they allowed to psyche it??? Help
  14. [hv=pc=n&w=s7h852d86ca876432]133|100[/hv] West opens 2♣ 3rd seat. Alerted as Red Club. Explained as 11-15 pts 6+clubs or 5 clubs and a 4 card major. Legal???
  15. [hv=pc=n&w=sat64ha5dq7654ck5&e=sq985hqj864dkjcqj&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=1d2c]266|200[/hv] Would you bid 2♥ or negative double. If you bid 2 ♥ should West bid 2♠ or 2NT or something else? Opinions welcomed Thank you
  16. [hv=pc=n&w=s85hk6dkqt7654ca6&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1cp1h3d3hp4hppp]133|200[/hv] CC marked as weak. Down 1 after not playing west for Ace of clubs. West has a history. Enough said. Director was called and said as long as East thought bid was weak that West can do what ever he wishes. Opinions??
  17. [hv=pc=n&s=skhkt5dat875caq73&n=saq64ha6dkj42ck86&d=s&v=0&b=11&a=1dp1sp2cp3nppp]266|200[/hv] Diamonds are 2-2 7NT easy How does one bid it?? Thank yuo
  18. Is there any particular strategy to employ when playing Board a Match? Thank you all for replies
  19. [hv=pc=n&s=sqhaj975dkj965ca5&n=saj97653hkd7cq743&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1sp2hp2sp3dp3sp3n]266|200[/hv] 3NT was bad. 4♠ has good shot of making. Who was wrong here. I believe that both of us however I do think that it should have been opened 3♠ and 3NT pulled to 4♠. I sitting south probably should have bid 4♠ however I was not sure of north's 7 card suit. I assumed that with 7 Spades north would pull to 4♠. I have read that one never put down a 7 card major in dummy unless it is trump. Thank you
  20. Why when holding Axxx opposite Q1098 is is wrong to play Ace first and then lead to the Q10? I know that one should either lead Q or 10 for a finesse or lead small to the Q10 first. If you need 4 tricks you must lead Q trying to drop J Mathematically Why?
  21. Auction goes with no interference 1♠-2♣-3♣-3♥ Is 3♥ asking partner to bid NT if he has ♥ stopped or is it telling partner that he has Hearts stopped [with possibly 4 in the suit?] and for you to bid /consider 3NT?
