  1. The boards were NOT duplicated in the 2 sections. Each section had their own boards which were shuffled and dealt and placed in their respective pockets by the 4 people at each table just prior to the start of the session.
  2. At a local club we sat ready to play. There were 2 sections 9 tables and 8 and 1/2 tables. Our section had 9 tables. Our opponents the 1st round asked if they could move to other section and the director said OK. This left us with a 1st round sit-out. My partner had a dental appointment immediately after the game [she had broken off a tooth] and just came from the dentist and had made another appointment later that same day. My partner thought that it would be nice if we could have the last sit-out instead of the 1st sit-out so she asked and we were given an OK by the pair that would have had the last sit-out and we switched places with them with the directors approval. When we sat at our new 1st table there had been 1 round of bidding: 1NT-P-2D-P I suggested that we have a redeal and the NT bidder said NO. I was sitting in the 2nd seat and upon looking at my hand : KJxxxx,x,KJxx,xx said again that we should redeal the hand, again NO, then I said that I would not have passed the hand as the first pair had done so there should be a redeal. They told me to bid and the bidding went 1NT-2S-P-P-X Again I said that there should be a redeal and the director was called [ her 2nd game as the director club owner] and after asking a more experienced director came back and said that there was too much unauthorized info and there should be a redeal. We redealt however 1NT opener is mad at us. WERE WE WRONG??? Thank you
  3. Everyone had 13 cards. The problem was that dummy #1 did not play a card because declarer didn't always indicate a card to be played #2 or failed to turn over a card that was played. #3 or failed to play a card that declarer asked for. This happened once early and nobody caught the problem. On the declarer's lead to trick 8 it was observed by LHO that dummy had not played to 2 tricks one of them was probably trick 7 but no one could be certain. Thank again
  4. After 7 cards are played it was discovered that dummy had only played 5 cards. This was discovered as declarer led from his hand. I observed that I had 6 cards in my hand and dummy had 8. We tried to reconstruct the play of the cards with directors assistance however the person playing the dummies card had it pretty well fouled up. What shoud be the correct ruling? THANK YOU
  5. I agree that I should have bid 4C immediately. That would have made it much simpler to read the double etc etc etc. My only other question is: would double of four Hearts normally be take out or penalty lacking my pass over 3 Hearts? Thank you
  6. I am adding this to the initial post. I chose not to push them into 4H and if they bid it freely I planed then to bid 5C. I did bid 5C which went down 1. Overcaller West held: Ax,J10xx,Ax,KJxxx. Lost a finesse to stiff Q clubs. Double was intended to be penalty however I believe that it normally would be taken to be take out. I believe that with Ax,J10xx,Ax,KJxxx one does not have a double the way the auction transpired. I and my favorite partner are are trying to get better and WE would like opinions please. I know that it would have been better if I had bid 4C immediately then Double would easily be for penalty. Thank you
  7. East is Dealer: Equal V Bidding P-1H-2C-3H P-4H-X -P ? Is this Take Out, Penalty, or do something intelligent? East holds: Kxx,x,Kxxx, 987xx Thank you
  8. Result was 3NT down 2. Good score for us. Thank you.
  9. [hv=d=w&v=n&w=shaqxdkj10xcaj109xx&e=skqj10xhxxdxxckxxx]266|100|Bidding with no interfernce. [1CL] [1SP] [2DI] [3CL] Is 3CL forcing. Should we play that 2DI is game forcing ? of only forcing one round? HELP and comments please THANK YOU[/hv]
  10. I opened 2S in the first seat. LHO overcalled 2NT. RHO took 30 seconds to bid 3C. LHO now bids 3NT. All pass. Both LHO and RHO are seasoned players, however this was their first time together as partners. They have puppet stayman marked on their cards but their were no alerts. RHO said before the opening that he was not sure if 2NT showed 20pts or if it was unusual NT. LHO held Axx,xxx,Jxxx, xxx. LHO had the normal 16pt NT. I believe that if LHO believed what he said " I am not sure if partner has 20pts or is asking for the minors so I bid 3C to cover both possibilities" then LHO is taking 2 shots at being correct. Opinions please.
