1N is silly. (1st) I want to put my RHO on lead. (2nd) We allow for them to get away from possible low level penalty. (3rd) I have a better bid Double = Would have opened 1♦ Not sure about experts and their std. for this situation.
-
Clear double for me. All scorings. Double is the only bid that involves partner in judgement. 4♠, Pass ....doun't make judgements that are not yours to make. Trust partner.
-
Do you really want to make sacriface over 7NT?
-
2nd - IMO 4♥ is not serious I play 3♠ as either cue-bid with ♥ fit or cog But i would Pass anyway

Leads From 3 Small ?

Thanks for responses. My general intention is indeed to make pressure type bidding more colourful. Some has noted that after 1♦ openings (3+;4+;4+Unbal) responder usally rebids his major, but i am planning to use something like 2N = 4♥4♦ pressure bid(exact range not clear yet) 3♣ = 4♠4♦ same I have also other ideas, but need precision. You may say that this generally works only in 1st position, and even then i can't expect +10 IMPs too often. True, but it fits well with my general tactics to make life for opponents as hard as possible, allowing also decent on-bidding. And it goes together with my preferred 2♣ opening. I agree that adding 4♦441 woun't hurt much. And, I'm not afraid of those self-murderers who states that they will Preempt my precision 1♣ & polish club 1♣ . Generally i am happy with information i get, you may enter the race even more :)
-
1♣ WJ00 plus 5♣+4M and (4441) 1♦ 5♦+ Not 5332 2♣ 5♣+4♦ or 6♣+ Has anyone played or thought about 1♦ promising 5cards?
-
IMO 4♣ is simply a bit too much. I want to drag opps into guessing, but if you bid 4♣, it's you who have made the major guess. 3♣ on the contrary allows for them to enter the race more freely and judge wrong. I have enough def values to expect many of their games to go down. I simply doun't see necessity to bid 4, 3 does put enough pressure. Clear pressure bid

Leads From 3 Small ?
wclass___ replied to MGeorge's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
I generally play attitude-prism combined leads xX; HxX Xxx shows that ''single'' suit is even, on next round trying to specify which. xXx -(MUD) shows that other suits are even It is complex, but helps quite often(if you think logical) -
Easy 3♣ for me. 4♣ - 2nd choise 2♣ is simply disgusting LHO will feel comfortable and safe, he definetly has a bid he likes after 2♣. Partner woun't be pleased with situation. He is also likely to think ''on average'' and expect a bit more there and a bit less elsewhere. I expect many on-bidding problems after 2♣.

Another "deal with preempt" poll

"I have observed many bridge players and came to the conclusion that many of them, including some very good players are very conservative when it comes to overcalls, but they are extremely aggressive once their partners make an overcall.'' - Melih Ozdil This is a hand with many positive and negative factors to consider, therefore i think that hand simulation with analyses is right path to go. I have no clear preference, so i will bid 3♥ (knowing opponent style is important, but i think i know how looks 1st seat vulnerable 3♣) -
Yes there are some MPs riding on this pitch LOL
-
Is this really a problem?
-
Sorry, but i doun't get what you mean. How is LHO's decision to bid 5♦(guessed wrong) connected with assumption that 5♥ goes down?
-
Why? Because we have a bunch of hcps and they're at the 5 level. Unless LHO's 3NT was for the minors or stuff, I think they're going down. I doun't like when someone states HCP as a reason (especially in A&E section) Same with dogmatical reasosn about 5th level There are no rules in this game.. only guidlines Anyway, for the fact to be true you need also 4♥ to be down.

IMO bidding a good slam should be the title. Stereotyped people and wretched mathematicians(or psychologists) are welcome :)

Nice problem for correspondence bridge(drawing parallels with chess) Suppose you play ♦A-♦ ruff- ♣AK-♣ if west discards ♠ best play seems to be ♦ discard I guess East will win and return ♣;west will ruff small and you overruff [hv=n=shq86dq8c&w=sxxh3dk9c&e=sxxhajxdc&s=shkt9dct9]399|300|[/hv] You can't stop west from getting 2 tricks... down one Now you probably realize that you could make this if you had ruffed ♦ with ♥9 Play ♥8 and after east puts small play ♥7 and start crossruff Actually i doun't think that this is the best % line, but as you know ...2nd best line is usally ok...

I play that 1N is negative ..so 2♣ for me

How could South ever sit for 3NT? He would always sit there if he opens 1♠ and responder after relays choses to sign off in NON-correctable 3NT/4NT. 7-6 doun't come up much, so it doesn't bother me. My system is made to win tournaments, not spesific hands. Shouldn't your system be tailored toward all possible hands? Or at least if it's not made for all possible hands, have a way to show these hands, so that these boards are not disasters? After all, it's kinda tough to win tournements with 1 or 2 dead zeroes just in the bidding... I didn't say that there isn't way how to show 7-6, there is.. Spot cards in openers ♠ suit is the problem i can't solve Dead zero? B) It could be Uber max as well... i just tried to say that it woun't frustrate me if i get something below 50% with 7-6

Super-Chart or Mid-Chart or insane?
wclass___ replied to mtvesuvius's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
I definetly advise Not using MUlti, natural - 6♦+ or 5♦4♣ will take some hands away from 1♦ 2♣ similar 1♠ 4♠+ 8/~12 4432 or better 1♥ 4!S+ 4♠522 or better 12/15 1♦ 4♥+ Pfffff... -

===> 6♠ ===> 3NT or 4NT

For me such high level doubles are 2-way, the auctual meaning to be found in owns hand South knows about void, 5♣ is not priority... Btw, this type of double has helped me out several times in various auctions
