  1. Does it make more sence if i say.. 'Pitch ♣ and claim!?' ?
  2. Discard ♣ and claim!? huh? 5♥ bid with 5♥; ♦Q; ♠Q/xxx ?! 2nd line was intended specifically versus ♠Qxx;♥xxxxx;♦xxxxx as i doun't see other way how to make then...
  3. I think that ♠ ruff; ♦A; ♦K would lose only if ♦ are 5-0. But maybe i should ruff with high ♠ and lead small ♠ to hand in order to finesse ♦? You would need something like ♠Qxx ♥xxxxx♣xxxxx with East
  4. 2♣ 5♣+unbal no 4M 11/15 2♦ 5♦+unbal no 4M 11/15 2M=w2 vul; NV 7-10 5+suit possible again&again
  5. NT) moust of other players as well as members of this forum will also bid 2♦, so you can relatively safe take ave++ on this board via further bidding judgement or cardplay.
  6. A bit? When opener is not interested to control the auction, he normally breaks relay structure and responder can now be a captain. 1♣-1♥(showing ♠'s) - 1N,2♣,2♦.. choose one, there is enough room for your plan.
  7. Pretty simple line: ♥Q; ♦ruff with T; ♥K; take away their trumps; duck ♣.
  8. ♥Q, ♥K and see what happens...
  9. My first instinct was 3N, but now i am sure that Pass is better. Nv-Nv is unusual vulerability, beacuse it is clear partscore fight. You doun't need to bid thin games in such competitive auctions to win as you might already be winning +2;+3;+6;+7 IMPs on this board by agressive overcall strategy. If we also add possibilities of -300 and -500 game bidding odds should change by at least 10-15%.
  10. You definetly know approximate IMP odds for this particular situation. Could you, please, elaborate?
  11. I think that 2♥ at MPs is pretty obvious. If partner has exactly 2♥s, I would highly prefer to play 2♥. *texture of ♥ suit and lack of honour support for partner. QT9 is not the greatest combination ever, but intermediate cards is the key. e.g. if partner has ♥Jx, we have 2 losers in both 2♥ and 2♠, but in 2♥ heart suit produce 3 extra tricks. In ♠ play intermediate cards in ♥ would be less useful. *I doun't mind ♣ lead (and other leads too). I have showed considerably less in the bidding than my partner, so it will be tougher to defend. If partner has 3♥ we rock. If partner has one ♥. Oh wel... but maybe he has another bid available..
  12. ♦A then ♠ is obvious... I might have obtained some info by now. Possible continuation: ♠K and ♣Q
  13. That is trivial and pretty inessential in this case. You are looking on a bid and say that it is harder to defend if 2♣ is NF, but that is not in conflict with what i meant to say. [2♣]-?? [2♣]-P-[P]-?? I didn't mean to go a step back and think how easy or difficult it would be to defend this 2♣ if it was forcing. I looked from point where the bid has already been made, promising this type of hand and being NF. At other tables this would start with Pass or 2♥. What i meant is that i like position where i am facing this auction [2♣]-P-[P]-? exposing that for other players at other tables, this might be much more of a challange than for me. Comparing to 2♥ opening i have considerably more room, and i also have much more information comparing to situation where LHO would Pass.
  14. So it goes [2♣]-P-[P]-... Where is the problem?
  15. http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=31436 You have take-out option (2♥). Natural 2N option. Natural ♠ overcall. + natural 2♦ overcall + double 2♥ showing 5♥5m would take more room (2 extra bids) Pass wouldn't reveal his shape. Where is the logic to reveal shape and give freedom for opponents? Inexperienced players might indeed make mistakes facing such a freedom, but how can this work against strong opponents?
  16. Basic structure is very similar to WJ00 IMO subsequent auction in the cc also provides pretty much information to guess continuations. I am not sure what they do after 1M response with 5♣+unbal no 3M and strong hand. It seems that range of 2♣ rebid is really wide. I really doun't like their 2nd level openings, probably because i have never understood necessity to preempt with both majors. Also i think that defending 2♣ opener is not a challange for strong opponents. I would highly prefer 2♣ opening showing limited strength and 6♣+ or 5♣4♦. IMO it would help 1♣ opener a lot.
  17. Ahh.. now i see. I thought that it involves ♦Q. However, it seems you also need ♣Kxxx or KT9 with west for squeeze to work, else East can guard ♣ with Txx
  18. I doun't get... You bid 3N at Mps not expecting to get a good score on average? How can partner know if it is right to bid over 4♣? ♠xx ♥QT doesn't give much enthusiasm (at least for me) to dream about 4♥ or 5♣, especially knowing that parter normally has at least 2♠, and trumps most probably split badly. 3♠-1 and 4♣-1 gives 5 IMp difference, IMO fortunate outcome for this bid.
  19. Maybe the squeeze needn't involve the diamond suit?
  20. So you will go for +600 at MPs and +130 at IMPs? Where is the logic? Pass seems obvious, 3N as a distant 2nd choise. I am pretty sure that anything but Pass on average will pruduce negative score.
  21. How can you hook clubs (Q-K-A) and then play for the club King to drop? How can you develop a squeeze with ♦Kx as only entery opposite ♦J?
