  1. Presumably partner's pass of 4♥ doesn't suggest much values in hearts so I will bid 5♥ showing 1st round control inviting 6 unless partner bids 5♠ I think.. Would 3♠ over 1NT be a GF fitshowing jump? I'm kind of afraid LHO is 5-1 in the round suits and will be able to get a club ruff.
  2. Is partner limited to a max of 12 or max of 14? If former I pass if the latter I move. Like others have said, playing regular Jacoby is tough.
  3. Think I would have bid 3♦ over 2♠ (2♠ is GF) planning to bid 4♥ later on as a suggestion to play. Had I had this sequence 3♠ is either looking for 3NT or an advanced cue in which case that would be for hearts. So 4♦ is a cue (partner's main suit) and says nothing about suggesting diamonds as trumps since I might have been able to bid 3♦ over 2♠ beforehand.
  4. Hate North's 2♥ bid, much much prefer 2♠ (not as an opening bid given 6322 and boring suit) then South can thereafter make a 4♦ power raise. So this hand appears to be a 4 or 6 hand.
  5. At first glance it seems like I want to lead a diamond for a 'safe' lead but the auction says otherwise. I don't want to help declarer guess his second suit as it will give him tempo due to the bad heart break. The spade suit looks much more appealing to me as opposed to a club so I'm hoping to tap declarer.
  6. 3♣ as GF? Is that even playable? And why would you bid 2♦ with north's hand? What if the auction comes back to you at 4♣?
  7. Pass in 4th seat based on that rule? Really? We have ♠AK what makes you think the opponents will get into the auction? (and they're also r/w) We could easily be making 2 or 3♦ for an easy 110 with this solid opening hand!
  8. Would have doubled 3♣ with East on the 1st hand, then we may get to our 4♠. In any case East should have completed the count with the 6. If one of the 'solutions' for J7 is to play the J first then how does East show when he has JTx?
  9. I strongly believe in 1m-2m-2m+1 being any minimum and then responder can bid 2m+2 to relay or bid 2NT/3m NF.
  10. X would be for takeout or extra values, 3♠ would show more strength than this and 4♣ would just be silly with this suit and lack of strength. Thus I'm down to a pass.
  11. This might depend a little on partner's tendency to raise 2♥ with 3 card support. But regardless, 120 might get us a good score and with partner not opening 2♦ in 4th seat like jlall mentioned, partner should have an ok hand. If his diamond texture is good, then 3N is looking good or if partner surprises us with 3♥ then that's just as good.
  12. Natural and a maximum seems most intuitive, so 2254.
  13. Even without a hesitation a freebid of 4♠? Must be joking if pass has to be an LA with this 20!
  14. Under the circumstances, have to bid 3♥ now.
  15. Can 1NT contain stronger hands too? I'm just trying to understand what the difference between doubling and bidding 1NT with strong 4522s. Partner's skill level doesn't affect my decision so if 1NT can contain strong 4522s then I will bid 4♠. I doubt partner had forgotten the 1NT since it probably was their choice to play sandwich 1NT.
  16. I will double. Over 4♣ I will bid 4♠ which will agree clubs. I guess I will luck out on being in the 4-4 diamond fit if partner is 1345 and if partner actually has 1444 he should probably bid 4♦ knowing that if my 2 places to play were in clubs and hearts I can remove 4♦ to 4♥. Over 4♦ I will bid 4♠ as well. Over 4♥ is a bit tougher. Some decent minimums can most likely take 11 tricks making 5lvl safe like x AJxxx Qxx AKxx or maybe we can still belong in 6♦ with x AJxxx QJxx AKx so I think I will still bid 4♠ even though this may first assume hearts are agreed. I don't particularly like what others have suggested. I think we can still have slam potential as we have extras for our responsive x so I definitely will want to investigate that whilst trying to look for our best fit. If I bid say 4♠ that wastes a whole level of bidding without any suit implied. If we bid 4NT partner will always bid 5♣ with say 1444 or 1534.
  17. First one I'd lead ♣A. I want to take my club trick in case the opponent's source of tricks is coming from hearts and they drop my Q10. And also it may be unlikely I'm setting up their king as sometimes with that holding RHO may just double. Second one I lead a diamond because it's the least unattractive one out of the rest and it may be our safest and best lead too, like hitting partner with the K or J etc.
  18. The one that's closest to me and head to the chocolate section.
  19. I think you need quite a few good things to happen for slam to be making like good trumps and possibly a favourable lead and what not (partner can have like 8 spades to the KQJ). As I can see we are r/w I would still pass as I prefer to be at the optimum level at the 4 level.
  20. Hehe sorry, forgot it was MP. Have a habit of assuming imps unless the hand states otherwise. That makes 4♠ on 1 much better to push them to 5minor.
