  1. All white, imps, you dealt and hold: ♠JT98 ♥7 ♦T532 ♣KT65 Pa-Pa-1♣-X Pa-1♥-1NT-2♥ ??? Incidentally, what range do you expect from partner? What shape?

So you blame the result on not playing a convention? Nice.
  3. I'd pass. If Majors were reversed I'd double, like this I'll wait for partner to do something.

[hv=pc=n&w=s543hj5da954ckqt5&e=saq8hakqtd2ca9764&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=p1cp1dp2hp3cp3sp4cp4dp5cppp]266|200[/hv] 3♣ shows ♣ support with a non-minimum hand. 4NT would have been RKCB at any moment after 3♣.
  5. This might be true. It's probably also true that 'when in doubt bid one more'. There probably shouldn't be any doubt as we have almost surely at least a ten card fit. However, holding six useless cards in the (unbid) minors and 4 cards in their 9-card fit (which might be divided 8-1) made me think we're surely down and they can make or maybe go down so I expected to have a plus while everybody was supporting. But this is going against the field, 'shooting'. What was the original hand?
  6. I'm thinking of passing. Who are my opponents? All their finesses seem to be working while ours don't. I'll take my chances and pass.
  7. I'm tempted to double now. I'm OK with pass and then double 2♣, but I know I'd double in the first opportunity.
  8. 5333? Never held that one before. Anyway I have too much for only 2♥, I like 2NT more. I bid 4♠ in the given situation.
  9. I think it's better to call the Director. Suppose you don't and make a call and then your LHO says you cannot make that call and then s/he calls the Director and then you get a procedure penalty for not calling the Director. Better to be safe than sorry, nothing wrong with waiting for the Director to come.
  10. All white, teams: ♠Txx ♥Void ♦AK9432 ♣ATxx Pa Pa 1♥ 2♦ 2♥ 3NT Pa Pa X Pa Pa ??? Do you pass, redouble or bid something?
  11. I suppose the first one is a matter of agreement, 4♦ has to be either natural or cue-bid, but it cannot be both. I suppose the second one is just a lucky deal, everything is perfect, North already upgraded to cue-bid and South opened a 10 HCP hand which I wouldn't.
  12. No, that was not the question, this was the question:
  13. I chose double but if partner passes I'm gonna feel pretty bad till I see we have no slam. This is a hand where bidding 6♥ could turn into a real disaster or a call to the Director and a scandal. I want to bid 6♣, but it might just be too much, 5NT might fetch 6♠ from partner but both these calls have some merit though. I'm not playing 5♠ if that's what partner bids but really, would partner bid with only two kings at this level? I regret the double everytime I think about it.
  14. I haven't discussed this sequence with anyone so I'd support spades. I would have overcalled 1♥, so I wouldn't be in this predicament.
  15. 1♥ and later 3♦. I don't think the bidding will continue 1♥-Pa-Pa-Pa, there are 11 spades and 20 HCP's outside.
  16. Congratulations to Justin and his team. A job well done though it's only the beginning.

Really? How do you support with 11+? 13+?
  18. Sometimes you can 'trick' partner into showing KC in a suit and later settling in another suit or NT. In this case it doesn't seem to be the right way to go, unless you KC over 1♠ Also, if you play an artificial system, how come you couln't show a 13 HCP hand and great diamonds? (Maybe because you had only 5?)
  19. I would have also chosen 3♣ in the first round. I was a little afraid of getting to a slam without knowing for certain if partner holds a singleton diamond but since the leader is the one with 6 diamonds I'm bidding 6♥ right away.
  20. I think you should try to continue showing cue-bids. In this case you don't have any, so just bid 4♠. AK in partner's shortness could be wonderful so that he doesn't lose with a singleton and also gives him a discard and if partner holds a void he has 2 discards, so it is better than say KJxx in his shortness.
  21. Red vs White, your cards: ♠832 ♥A ♦AQ94 ♣JT764 Pa-Pa-Pa-???
  22. Is this one likely: AKxxxx x ATx AKx Or this one: ♠AKxxxx ♥Ax ♦ATx ♣AQ They led a diamond (normal) and spades were 2-2, one of the round-suits finesses was right, making 5.
