  1. On a low club off dummy RHO play the king in tempo.
  2. Yeah, I would pass this. Not sure if I'd go for ruffs or a forcing defence (♥K lead).
  3. 4♥ would have been a better bid than 4♦ - no firm agreement there, but most probably would be assumed by both to be singleton and 55.
  4. [hv=d=w&v=n&w=s72hqdkjt43ca8654&e=skq3hakt73daqckj2]266|100|Scoring: IMP p - 2NT 3♠ - 3NT 4♦ - 4NT p[/hv] 2NT=22-24 3♠=both minors, slam try 3NT=s/o 4♦=not dead yet 4NT=s/o p=reluctantly Who's most to blame for this disaster?
  5. [hv=d=e&v=n&s=sk8hadaq852cak852]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♦ - 1♥ 3♣ - 3♦ ?[/hv] You've GFed and got a preference. How to proceed?
  6. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=saha62daqt7ca9763&s=skjt2hk94dk32cj54]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] After opening first in hand, later signing off as much as possible, you are at the helm in this terrible 6♣. Lead: ♥Q What's your plan?
  7. [hv=d=w&v=n&s=sat94hj983dk4ck95]133|100|Scoring: IMP (3♦) 3NT (p) ?[/hv] Partner overcalls 3NT and you've got a decent hand. Do you make a move?
  8. [hv=d=n&v=b&s=sq53haq92dkq97ca4]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♦ (1♠) x (2♣) 2♥ (p) ?[/hv] You've got this nice hand. Partner has shown an unbalanced hand with 4=4=4=1 or 4=5+ in the red suits. How do you proceed?
  9. [hv=d=w&v=b&w=sa84haj7dak93cj62&e=skq95hqdq876542c4]266|100|Scoring: IMP Our bidding: 1NT - 2♣ 2♦ - 3♦ 3♥ - 3♠ 4♦ - 5♦[/hv] Stayman followed by a natural GF 3♦, stopper showing bids etc. Luckily we won 12 IMPs for our +640, when opps rested in 3NT-1 at the other table. But you'd feel much better getting to slam.
  10. Nice problem Justin. And well defended. I think I should have found it at the table myself, but it's very easy to get caught unaware in these situations.
  11. I'd initially prefer 4♠, but won't be too unhappy about 6♠ either.
  12. Easy pass with all these quacks. Put in a jack somewhere, and it's close - I'd normally invite then. Another filler and it's a clear invite.
  13. Agree with the double. Looks like LHO expect to make this, or that it's a very cheap save. I'm bidding 4NT now. Either we can make that or it can be a good save vs a making 4♠.
  14. Huh - 6♦ on this??? Clear 6♥ over 6♣ IMO.
  15. I agree with opening 4♥ on this hand. Sure - It'll most probably be my best 4♥ opening ever. But I'm allowed to have a maximum. As for the rest of the auction - this is pretty standard IMO - at least this is how I'd continue. 6♦ in my methods is asking for 3rd round control, which I can provide. Easiest 7♥ ever. In auction B the meaning of 6♦ would be the same to me, so I'd bid the grand without second thought.
  16. Let's see, a double shows both minors and strength for the 3-level. Uhm, that's what I've got. Thus I double. B) Of course my hand isn't perfect for this action, but I can't wait for those perfectos - then I'll be passing far too much. If partner rebids 3♥ I can live with that.
  17. Me too. Then I do play 1NT as NF. ;)
  18. 2♠. In my methods I've shown anunbalanced hand with this sequence, but I'd bid the same with standard methods. The hand just isn't worth 3♠ - I completely echo Justin's first post here. I don't understand employing a 3♣ splinter - how would you bid a monster 2-suiter then?
  19. Read up on this subject - try Kelsey's "Test your timing". And play a lot of hands.
  20. It's definitely too late if I'm unable to find a raise with this great collection now. B)
  21. Agree. Can't see why we should be at the 3-level on two 7-card fits.
  22. Strongly agree with the 2♦ rebid here - this is no GF hand. Also agree with rebiddign 3♣, clearly gives partner the best picture of our hand.
