  1. Clearcut pass IMO. Don't consider anything else at all.
  2. Even playing with a light opener this is a clear double IMO, wtp?
  3. Put me down for 4♣ too. I'm not selling out slam that easily now.
  4. I'd rebid 2♠, the alternative being 2♥. Anything more is an overbid IMO. You're allowed to have a maximum on occasion.
  5. Agree - I'd lead a spade in my sleep here.
  6. I really prefer reverse here to show extras.
  7. That's one of the more obvious SP positions IMO. Of course that's a general statement, as I haven't seen the actual hand.
  8. So I learned something about Frances' and Han-Arends methods. :P
  9. Good that you can't make yourself do something retarded! Why dont you two get married already? Its inevitable. :) And I bid 1♦ as well. funny you should mention that, we are facebook married :( Good for you! :D Agree with 1♦.
  10. Without any gadget this would be forcing IMO. Not absolutely sure, but I don't think I know of anyone playing it as forcing.
  11. Here I think it's pretty clear to redouble.
  12. I'm a passer. I've got some hope of escaping for -500. We might have a better spot, but I think we might easily get really hammered if I try to run.
  13. Quick question Harald. 2H in your system is a t/f to S. What is 2S? T/f to C or a weaker hand with S? If the latter, how do you bid Cs? 2♠ is a weaker hand with spades. Actually we don't bid clubs unless we can jump to 3♣ showing 55 inv. I'd prefer to have a 2♦ opening for 11-15 5♠ 4-5♣, but my regular partner won't. So with a weak 5-4 we have to pass 1NT and with 5224 we open 1NT if in range (14+-17). 11-13(14) with 5-5 we open 1♣.
  14. Agree with heart hook after two clubs. I'd expect 60+% of the field to be in a grand. So avoiding the 2nd down is important.
  15. 2♣ would be NF with a weak 2-suiter, 6-5 with my regular since we open 1♣ with a minimum 55. 3♣ should be a strong GF 2-suiter.
  16. I have been told that this was illegal at lower levels until recently. Depend on where you play. It's perfectly legal to treat 4441/5431 as balanced at all levels in Norway.
  17. I'd try 4♥ with my regular partner, who will have a decent hand. Might make on occasion, or work as a preempt. I like our chances if LHO comes in with 4♠.
  18. Wrong Law, try L73D1: As a highly qualified TD I maintain that playing in the manner described earlier is illegal. If anyone is in doubt about this, check with your national authority.
  19. This hand is worth 2.5♠, so that's my rebid (2♥ in my methods). B)
  20. or a 10xx A A combination. or a xxxx A A combo. Note also that pard will PULL 3NT without 2 aces, so it's a fairly safe bid, the only risk being going 1 down in 4♣. Some people play 3N in 3/4 seat cannot be pulled. That is how I play. When I play Gambling 3N, this is how I play it as well. The restriction on no A/K is only in 1/2. Me too. I'd not be happy seeing partner pull when I've got 9 tricks on my own.
  21. Agree that splinter would have been better. That said, north has no reason whatsoever passing a partscore after you GFed. Obviously (s)he should sign off with 4♠ over 4♦.
  22. I'll try an offshape 2NT.
  23. Not only unethical, it's illegal according to bridge law.
