  1. 2C. But my 2C asks partner to show 5+H. Else jump 3C.
  2. No, he really didn't. Why are you trying to mangle the original question? - matmat Simply because that sub-question IS ANSWERABLE !! Some part of THE answer is apparently TO YOU not responsive.
  3. pooltuna nailed this one. Are you asking "undefined and un-shown (partner didn't announce this suit)" 6-suit? Or given a AK,AQ,KQxxxx shown, or known? The good 6-suit opposite Tx(+) is a very likely 6 tricks needing 3 from the 13 hcp not 6-suit AKQ in 22 combined. Is that the question? Try: Goren 26 with 4-4, or 5-3 fit is 26. What to add for good 5-suit: expected AKQ? Some plus for 12w12, near 24. What for good 6-suit: expected AKQ? Near 22.
  4. Yes, more than 50%. In fact, the linear interpolation for 50% is 22.3 hcp.
  5. What was 4S deviation? I assume 3S was a bar bid. Really fear hearts? 7xS with 0-1xH?? I hate it, but I think he's right. 4H makes. Try for 4 tricks now. Dreaming to think lose 1xH + 1xminor only.
  6. After .. 6D, <6H> P <P> ?? First H-control and leaving grand for consideration - from partner's non-double. WOW! Grand looks good, but I've already pushed hard for 6D. Double 6H.
  7. Semi-force can? or not? use the tempo of partner's opening?? Eg. opener's are automatic, so if I break tempo for a sub-minimum opening, let me pass a force. If again a 1NT force - as common as they come - breaks tempo, he begs a pass. And we make semi-force to guard BIT in either case. Was force, but pass wins. Wasn't force, but bid wins. Can't be WRONG!!!
  8. Does partner double 4H with H-xx(x), ie. no H-control fearing 6D fails. Then 5C cues with H-control.
  9. Sound weak2's. Deviate when 0-1 other Major; plus for 4-2 not 3-3 sides. Yup 2H.
  10. Do I have a catchall force (new minor, or like) to use with middling+ hands? Leaving just minimums in the 2M raise. Or is 2M raise continued it by guess by golly?
  11. Would solid clubs double 1st? Which path shows need fitting C-honor? Which shows need second H-stop? By guess and by golly went set. How unpredictable!?
  12. 2D. some try to get partner declaring as only DAQ are tenaced here. And I want the 14-16 hand to commit from something on opening lead. Then 3H raise or correcting 2S. As others note, wish I had X as strong competing start.
  13. Which hands would not be in partner's double? Has 2xA? 3+controls? TopX before Q-bid 4H has 2xA +SK +K? ie 4 controls in 4H? Which in 4S? Which would keyask? 4C,4D promise what? What cases am I left to expect?? Do I know 4+4 controls? my 2xA+his A(not in H)? Did X deny even tolerance for S?? Well structured makes this decision clear. At least not blowing gas.
  14. Partner spades are ours -> 1S If 1N how 5-3s fit found? That's at least as big a problem as rebid after 1S. A problem precisely because all bal 15-17 open 1NT, THEREFORE DESIGNED ON PURPOSE TO LEAVE NO REBID AFTER !M bal 15-17. WHY?!
  15. Have you not added NO OTHER MAJOR FIT to your 5Mw4+m openers? Then pick minor obvious.
  16. Partner actually held x 8xxxx KQJTxx A and with moderate 10 count thought his good minor was more likely info for game than 5xH? Always 2H, then 3D, unless partner raises 3H/4H.
  17. 1S-1N-, 2m-?? 2H as if 6-suit with 7pts? 3H as 6-suit with 9-10? 4H as 6-suit with 11-12? Which rebid catches 1N 1st back to right level of game invite? What's wrong with 2H with 6-suit with 12 as GF? What IS minimum GF? Opener may have misfit 10-12? 3NT fails, pay out!
  18. 2C that doesn't ask partner's max pass with stop to 3NT is a waste. May show 2M just in case. As partner opens 1M lightly, but did not, way likely 3C fits and is preempt effective.
  19. This is a good situation for transfers. So 2D ->H; with 1H ->S; 1S ->C; 2C ->D (~4441 +2xA). Decide super-accept means, non-accept means, which hands won't start X.
  20. On 2nd hand, why a negX with 6xH?? I want partner to know H-xxx H-Kx is a raise. Probably solves this problem previously.
  21. 1N with H-stop! and 6xC tricks(?). Let's see where this goes.
  22. Agree hanp. Keep opponents from easy 4S/3S decision. Want a second K/A for limit raise, not min HCP and quacks, but the keep spades out push to 3-level appeals. 3D
  23. Never volunteer the last guess. Here I'm pretty sure their best guess over 4H is 4S. I only have CK after all. But over 3H, 3S or 4S guess left for them.
  24. glen, 3. Psychic controls (Includes ANY partnership agreement which, if used in conjunction with a psychic call, makes allowance for that psych.)" Long ago, restricting weak2 bids below 3 of weak2 suit was accepted as partner captains any auction after a limited bid. No intent of psychic control! That "operating" works in that scheme is no more PSYCHIC CONTROL than Drury after sub 1M in 3rd seat. see BBO-archives for that non-psych control. The question being does using Drury that acts as psych control bar a psych 1M opening? Essentially if the system is used, then its effect after a psych is simple system application. No Psych Control violation.
  25. Partner jumped because he liked his hand given this auction. I like my CAK with fit. 4C - I cannot be this high without D-support.
