  1. Didn't anyone think 1S overcall? I almost considered a 2S jump overcall.
  2. I envy y'all. If you play in a game where this discard "may" influence declarer's decision and partner/you expects a "best" discard here, you are way privileged. Bridge at its minutae!
  3. Try few ranges shown with say 20+ asks are you bust, partner? I have 1N:10-13 opener, 1D(F1) and 1N rebid is 14-16, 1C(F1) and 1NT rebid is 18-19 1C and 1H over 1D(neg) asks 5 pointsto show, 0-4 to 1S(2nd neg)
  4. Expect 4C doubler to say "cannot help any other lead" here no HQ. (wheels within wheels may be: he hopes to win HQ by demanding C-lead as if no H-help) Whereas 2C doubler has CK and enough length to not lose set if C-lead against 4M/3N.
  5. 1st. Add a or 16+ case with Dbl showing hearts. 2nd. Immediate Dbl (over 2N) asks M-pick (prefer H if equal); 3C if no M. Delayed Dbl (over 3D) asks pick Major --no inference to length/strength. Of course a bid indicates my hand improves with a fit. Got fit, partner?
  6. Why are we asking "is 4D a splinter?" Did we not at least look at their CC to have this answer in hand? Did we not look to see what treatments we are oppocing? --How did we decide which counter to their 1N is ON: Capp or DONT; penaltyX or T/O? --Is our counter to Bergen /Drury /1Nforce ON? Then, if CC is not looked at, is not any question UI? Could have the answer by looking, so what is the difference by asking? Unauthorized Information!!?
  7. Doesn't everyone see a misfit?? "Do ya feel lucky, punk?"
  8. Have ONE system for all opponents' competition: transfers. With double for the next suit, but promises values to set 1-level higher.
  9. 1. Close between X as I see 2+S losers in 6H or 5H: do you S-control? 2. Pure guess as you didn't show good controls instead forcing pass.
  10. This hand nears my max for Neg-X. How much more would y'all have for Neg-X? Unlimited? Topped at what? If not unlimited what is next bigger bid?
  11. hanp: No blame, I wouldn't bid with either hand. EXACTLY. Expect 1-2-5-5 with 2xA +J to bid over 4S??!! Or 1-5-2-5 with AKQ working to come in at 5-level??!
  12. I Play Power Dbl, so am often overcalling 1M with 4xM. Simple overcall invites partner's suit, whereas jump overcall shows 1-suited. Here 1H is easy common.
  13. Pass forcing doubles the information available to the auction starting pass. In addition the judicial use of 1-bids keeps the same or better info availability for 1-bids. Only fert(s) lose info --here a 2-way might pay. That is if I open Pass --F1, all the responses (plus 1x I would have opened) are added. So careful picking which hand types into Pass --F1 and other openers unloads much shapexpointsxcontrols cases. I play weak 1N, 1M: 4cM, 8-15, 1C: fert or bal 15-17, 1D: strong with hearts or H+m, 2m: 13-17, 5+m, so Pass-F1 has spades strong or 18+bal or S+2nd or D+C or D or C. Just my partition, high belief it is a good partition.
  14. Don't y'all see 4xH=loser +DA? I surely would not rebid 3S with no heart surprise for opponents: 4xH or 0-1xH. Also the diamond surprise likely 3-1 , 4-0.
  15. I very much want the tenaced hand declaring. Get the lead toward AQ, KJ, Q10. So, for example I have a NT bid and a NT xfer response to forcing opening. Thus, the 6-suit signoff has KJx side when bid -- no tenace when xfer. Why would into the stronger hand not be expected to gain? Jacoby transfers are 50 yo. Was this not seen forever?
  16. Have run into that often. How do people learn? I learn best by reading (textbook), some by hearing (lecture), some by practice (homework). Some are analytic as you (detailed why's), some are overview systemic as me (show me the intent --I'll fit near that), some are mnemonic (memorize). Which is your partner? For example, I saw the system precision easily so quite surprised a player had 5 pages to memorize for the 1C module.
  17. Pass all. Next round I'll have better idea if/what to bid. Nice to have a partner to trust!!
  18. Can I use XXX for strong (No wait that's porno prefix. Sorry)? So pass is weak. Use 2C weak: nothing up to not wanting penalty double of 2S. Freeing pass for establishes forcing passes. Must intend penalizing weak 1N often as a strategy.
  19. Do I have Drury responses for my 1S psych (or should I expect 1H will more likely have the 2D response?). Might win 2D.
  20. If 2S is deviation it is very likely fearing hearts. Start heart.
  21. Don't I see CA + C-ruff +SAK +SJ-ruff +C-ruff. Out to DA, DK(or C-ruff with HJ). Now D-ruff per force and trump endplays by D-ruff gets H10?
  22. Is he baiting us with S:AKQxx, H:KQJxxxx, m:x, m:-?? To get back bunches right now. I'll bite double --that sob story is just way precious for the rehash later.
  23. I have a DAPO 4H showing a big S+D hand. Next Q 5C gets partner to see 6S.
  24. Am I seeing this right? Partner reversed then supported my spades. Big hand ! And I have 3xA +K in 18hcp ?!?! Nothing stopping me from 7N.
  25. Keep one transfer structure for all cases(overcall,T/O X, jump special, We opened/They opened) in competition as it reduces memory load. AND makes all auctions defined without an individual discussion for each case. Bonus it fixes the forcing/invite/quits question: accept xfer on min, jump accept likes, other is exceptional hand. SEE the help-suit: X-fer, then support. SEE the control raise: X-fer then slam try. SEE the stop have/miss: X-fer then NT.
