the other day, my partner was dealer and took a very long time to bid i had a bust, and sadly i was 4333 he finally opens 2nt he had some ridiculous number of points but the hand was 4333, i pass an he ends up down 2 once the ordeal was over, he said something like, these were the most miserable 23 hcp i have ever seen i saw an opp suffer such hand yesterday, here am i with a smaterring of queens and jacks, the opp opens 2c and rebids 3nt my queens and jacks miraculously made the poor decalrer was forced at evry lead and we score matchpoints gold at 200 i have a mind to start opening these useless monsters at the one level, a zero is a zero anyway what do you all say? ty

this is magnificent onedown. when i started playing bridge, i attended both the firesides at okbridge and the bil thing at bbo those were really good with kaltica and athene, i remeber one bridgeboy too, but not your screen name. those sessions are good for advancing players

I have contacted abuse many times. I have also learned that, in a few instances, i should not have contacted them, and am now expert in which battles to choose. :-)) I do not complaint to find a resolution to my problem, i complain about behaviours which will affect other players. Privacy is a big item for bbo, so their policy of not revealing which specific action was taken is understable, ie, there is no public trial of offenders. Some may even correct their ways and fit into some corner of the bbo community. But you will not be successful if your aim is to start some kind of public trial. you have done your part to report the abuse. consider yourself lucky you are not the one who has to process these complaints. play bridge, be happy.

i would not say whatsoever the argument for rightsiding is to protect the 1nt opener tenaces, who is expected to have 2 of them if the responder has 2 or more tenaces him self, there is no need right side anything so, i dont play texas transfer, for example, 1nt-4h is to play if i have a slam try in a major, well i bid 3h if i have a veyr long suit which will be the major source of tricks, i transfer then bid 4h

i remember in my very early days at bbo, holding a complete yarborough when partner opened one club of course, i know how to answer, the book said i had to have 6+ to answer so i passed and some disaster ensued the little devil in the kib box told me-- if your partner opens 1 club, answer with zero if you have to, give him a chamce to improve that contract. i think that little devil was right so i stick to it. since then i have partnered with several players who say similar things especially if my clubs are short. i also have never seen anything good turnout when i open 1 club with a 3 card club suit holding a 19 balanced count and partner passes, so the little devil was right, i think. yesterday i hear one club and i hold a 5 card heart suit qjt9x and nothing else and i answered 1 heart, as far as poor hands go that was not one so bad, that is actually one trick in hearts what would you have bid? ps i do not play forcing club systems.

if in fact the reason for the ban is his screen name. that meaning only happens in the english languange, so if a ban is to take place based on screen name the player should be approached first i recall findimg once a player from a far east country whose screen name meant , in my native language, asshole. i pointed it out to some fellow countrymen and we had a a good laugh. thing is the screen name was the players last name, so i spotted a couple more people with the same name followed by numbers so in fact there are a lot of assholes out there

true that there is an abundance of private games at bbo but that is a good thing that people can assemble privately with restrictions occasiannly you will see me playing with a turkish flag, and in fact the language setting in my machine must be set to turkish the td host is my friend and occasional partner-- i do not know the first word in turkish truth of the matter is that it is burdensome for him to make announcement in both english and turkish but he can still add folks who will play in a toiurney where they cannot read the instructions so i have no problem with that, if the tourney is set to french or dutch or norwegian let the players enjoy themselves in their native language if they wish that way that ill feeling you get when poeple type in other languages during a game will be no more

hsheng some bbo private clubs do award their own private point iac club bbo hornets gives fun points memberships on those is free and they keep it on their websites rock around the clock holds special tourneys for their better performing players so you will have points there

thanks folks well at a certain point in time there existed this club which was acredited by acbl, and a couple of tds-- dont know what type they were they used to get 3-4 tables, maybe 10 tables when winter birds were here now, only ever attended maybe half dozen games offline, those little ones with 4 tables the club is locally recognized by some sport government ministry so it is a legal entity, ie can operate as some kind of non profit organization-- but there is no regulation of the game itself now it closed its doors because several players died, and the couple of acbl directors can no longer direct the things looks insurmantable at the moment, but someone mentioned that we could operate without any accreditation by offshore entities, but then the winterbirds would not play perhaps that is easier because one of the people who can no longer td might be able to give me and/or some other persons a crash course on how to direct.

suppose i would like to become a td, meaning i would have to travel to take some kind of acbl exam, and perhaps even have to become a member of acbl. thing is i feel i do not know enough about bridge-- i have a couple of books on directing but when i read all these hairy issues presented here at the forum i does feel very stupid i even play multi and transfer prempts and cannot even understand why they are illegal i do not plan to become a legal whiz but perhaps run an afternoon game for a couple of lols is there any hope for me? thanks

i lost a very nice friends this year a bridge player and dilettante ( tho some would call him an odd ball) in his early years he smoked heavily and had troubles with the bottle he managed the bottle, and would even drink socially but decided at a certain point that he could not give up smoking about 3 years ago there were some suspicious things in his lungs i am not sure if he gave up smoking about one month ago he dropped dead at work on the eve of his frequently mentioned retirement-- he intended to go live in the bushes making his own shoes etc... he always said he would never be an invalid the smoking bloggers feted him the most, which was strange because there were many facets of him that could be feted i still think it was the cigarettes

I second this request. As for finding precision players, it would be nice if there were a club for strong club (precision/blue/moscito/whatever) players, just like the ACOL players club. Add one for polish club while you're at it. ;) well further to my systems flag i would like perhaps stock pictures with logos of systems like ks, precision and so on to find people
