    stuck

My partner isn't afraid of 4-3 fits
  2. Count me in for not ruffing in as well.
  3. Oh dear, seems like I was a bit of a fish then, as I passed. Opinion was a bit mixed over here about what to do but even I'm feeling like 4C was probably right. For your information, partner had - AKxx QTxxx AKJx And the 3S bidder had a monster AKQxxx QTxxx A x Thanks Ed
  4. Am pretty sure I'd bid 3♥
  5. [hv=d=n&v=e&s=st6xxhxxxdxxcqxxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♦ from P, 1♠ overcall, raised to 2 by LHO, partner doubles and RHO raises to 3. This is passed back to partner who doubles again, do you pass or bid 4♣? Is it close? Would it make any difference if your opponents are weak players?
  6. I passed without even considering bidding but was told that double was automatic. At the time, I simply poo pooed this, thinking it was ridiculus but lots of players have told me that they consider double automatic, including some top players. Would people in the know say that this position is simply a matter of style?...I'm just so confused at the hugely contrasting view of what action is "right".
  7. [hv=d=e&v=b&s=sxhakjxdxxxckt8xx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] RHO passes and you open 1♣, LHO bids 3♠ and it is passed back to you. Do you reopen? How close is your action?

    Your call

Your point is valid...my opinion was based on the fact that I don't play with many PD's who psych. .. neilkaz .. Appollo was saying that, even if partner hasn't psyched, who's to say this is going off, if they only have one trump loser. The opponents know that your partner has opened, that you have shown a good raise, and have still bid strongly to game vunerable. They probably have some shape...LHO could easily be 6-5 or something.

    Your call

Partner has psyched and has a flat 3 count. I was just wondering whether this hand *should* have doubled. (it didn't at the time)
  10. [hv=d=n&v=e&s=skxxxhxxxdajxckxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Partner opens 1♠, RHO doubles and you bid 2NT good raise. 3♠ is bid by LHO, partner passes and RHO bids 4♥. LHO corrects this to 5♦ and this is passed back to you. Do you act?
  11. This wasn't actually a hand played by me just one given to me. I just wasn't so keen on bidding 1NT without a ♥ stop but perhaps it's the best shot. RHO hasn't raised ♥ and LHO will always rebid 2♥ with a reasonable hand with some good ♥ anyway.
  12. [hv=d=w&v=n&s=sk8xhj87dk9xckj8x]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] What would you respond after the following auctions (1♥)-X-(P)-? (1♥)-X-(1♠)-?
  13. ♦ on both ocassions, although leading from q9 often seems to work out badly.
  14. I would've gone for a ♦, woopsy
  15. Yeh, looks like I was being naiive, guess there's more of a reason to bid here as RHO is more likely to respond on absolutely nothing at these colours.
  16. I think I'd pass actually. Might not get passed out if my opps are desperate to get an IMP and don't think defending 1NT will get that ;)
  17. I pass. I assume Justin means white/red instead of red/white...in answer to that I'd have to say more likely, although I'd still pass
  18. Is 2♠ really constructive by a passed hand? What would you do with a 6 count and 3 spades for instance?
  19. I'm a dbl fan here....despite having a heart stop and despite bidding 3NT on the similar hand where "stop" was Q9x...
  20. 3NT was terrible but the player in question did in fact bid it? Who was it? And what would have happened after a dbl?
  21. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sat7hkqj7dk4caq64]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 2♠ is opened on your left...(weak). You double and partner bids 2NT Lebensohl...what's your bid?
  22. I think I'd bid 3NT
