  1. Dnt like these comments about biddng confidently thats not allowed bid at normal pace in normal tone
  2. Is it has prempy value maybe y panic opps not stopping here and p knows you have zilch.
  3. Perhaps it would be useful For BBO to explain what can and connot be done following a claim without any more info, for example drawing trumps, finnessing the ... Or cross ruffing. Whilst declarer may not lose tricks it is by common sense impossible to lose, they maye not take fnesses without saying so at the tme of the claim.
  4. The bidding in acol i humbly submit should br 1d 1ht 1s 3c 3h 4hts. I can concieve of no other acol sequences which relate to the hands given.
  5. My choice would be to dble and lead trums as you have the balance of points. Does it work? Cant see if you keep leadn trumps how they can make nine they have no good suits of length
  6. Try foolhardy, lack of discipline, incomptence not courage, Courage is not the right word, treachery, cowardice , deserting your only friend, Or better still very very bad bridge.
  7. Pass says i dont trust you p, great but who else is on your side at the table? Utter tosh to pass.
  8. 3hts nothing else even close to consideration,,
  9. Orycto for you especially "least lie" and slammy not a word for everyone do you study English?
  10. Without a partnership understanding both are the same, game or more tries whether slam or game will be clear from next bid after the respse to the try.
  11. I agree with the 2d bid, 3c is a travesty, 5losers so hand is of reverse strength but p is stuck for a forcing bid, in my view he chose the l ast lie cos it his his job to recover, i would now bid 3d on your hand and i guess p will then bid 5cs note 3d shows slam my nterest cos you are now in. Gf sit. Well done your p who he/she?
  12. Poor first bid by east, why not just raise spades. P may then have had a better view i.e how many spade tricks you have. Now you are in outer guess land, just cos you have a convention does not mean you have to use it, have you discussed what the UCB might mean as opposed to say a comp. double or a single or double raise, esp in resect of support and controls?
  13. Oh dear, first your p is no expert, I sypathise with the 2c opening as I have found it best to use contols or quick tricks as a better guide than pure point count, how ver you need to agree this and the responses. In old acol a jump bid to an openly ng two show d a solid suit with the ace i.e. Akqjxxx, not missing the knave. Your p should learn slow arrival, indeed so should most of the commentators. And acol 2club players.
  14. Now seeing the full hnand seems I am right! We get to 6c with sme ease over 2s 2nt then three clubs (slow arrival ) ote 3nt is wrong, slam is now on via cue bids .
  15. So a passed opp competes with a take out dble showing other two suits.yes? It all depends on the hand so 2d is obvious, and maybe best for p to declare 3nt With no agreement xx suggests penalty hunting, nts show normal strength eg 15/16, 17/18 etc. New suit would be forcing as in normal sequence for one round or GF depending on the bid. Seems simple unless there is sme complicated understanding. S in this case 2d forcing for one round. Then over a 2h rebid, 3nt over 3c same, over 2s 3nt. Seems simple acol copes. More intersting over a 4c or 4d response. Slam? Worth considering.!
  16. Well one eye thepoint is exactly that west would not underlead the ace, probably so the 5/2 split ian with the doubleton on your left, so losers maybe kh, a ruff As and a diamond, you dont want Rho to duck spade as if Kh is wrong he can get in with ace on second round of spades. What on earth is unusual about 6 from 65 dbltn and three hearts to the king, standard lead cait.
  17. I would play the ks not the knave as its more likely to tempt ace from rho. Then its ace and another heart as soon as I get in Bes way t stop spade ruff by lho
  18. Yes I canthink of a 14 pt hand where 6d is a 50/50 shot. Try it your self. Yeti.good name by the way, where do you play?
  19. Where did the 2d come from with 16? Some funny system where it is forcing? Try 2c next time, come to that where did the opening 1d come from? Five card majors and strong nt? In which case opening might be 1c ? We would bid 1nt 2nt ( transfer to ds) 3d 3nt (mild slam try in ds) pass One off or not! lho may have Akx(x) (x) and lead fourth highest and our opps would do the same, flat board!
  20. Oh dear is cyberyeti a brit? P did not bid 3s, he did not bid 4c he has a brain think about it. Most would be exploring now how depends on understanding 5c would be aiming for 6 + 6c for seven. He prbably will not have Ac so key card could work. We are playing with a 30pt pack and we have 18! Of them. P has not got a five or six card spade suit queen high and has 8++
