  1. And about "cue bid before" if bidding goes (S-N) 1NT-2♣, 2♠ and because N is interested for an eventual controll in heart needs start to prepare cuebidding in diamond with 4♦ considering singleton as a king to know situation in heart having, in this case, 4♥(=controll). Subsequent 4NT(s) should not consider this one than answere is (one key remaining) 5♣(=1430)-5♦(=queen ?), 6♣-6♠.
  2. I agree with Cyberyeti in posts 9 and 15: the problem for N if starts RKCB(s) on answere 5♠ is to collocate the probable Ace in heart than diamond (to avoid gets down on leads on heart suit) because S having not 17 points doesn't cue bid and eventually other askings query for specific queen with ultherior king position. Than the "good" slam bidding has a certain risk. How do you solve it in RKCB if don't cue bid before ?(Lovera)
  3. I agree with you from second part but i prefer 1NT(=16-18), 2♣-2♥, 2♠-3♦, ..
  4. Untill 4♦ bids it's ok but now should starts minorwood than 4♥(=1 key) and having not raise partner has not more of three hearts and Ace is likely in diamond suit (you ought not think J10xxx in diamond and Ace in heart) than..5♦,bye.
  5. I had already talked of this one in "Finding your minor suit slam !" on General Bridge Discussion (see there, before to continue reading, my post #29). Having i noticed that major suit answers are not used i have thought to insert it at 3th level when 2♦ is applied with ambigueous meaning. Infact lacking it is easier and frequent by opp to intervent. That the use of 2♦ forcing manche means that 2♠ transfert for minor is weak.
  6. This is another situation :"South open 1NT and North has ♠ 6 ♥ K 5 3 ♦ K Q 9 6 ♣ A J 8 6 3 and bids 2 ♦(=? stopper). South with stoppers in majors bids 2NT and North raise 3NT (S hand ♠ K Q 4 ♥ A J 10 ♦ A J 7 5 ♣ 7 4 2). But let's suppose to change spade and club so : ♠ 7 4 2 ♥ A J 10 ♦ A J 7 5 ♣ K Q 4. Now 3 NT are off whilest 6♦ are cold. In this case bidding cou"ld be : 1NT - 2♦, 2♥(=stopper only in heart)-3♣, 3♦-5♦, 6♦".(From "Do you play Stayman ?"- Odissey Press in New York)
  7. If it apllies this convention, forcing manche, bidding is : 1NT(=15-17)-2♦ that query for sure stopper in major suit so :2♥/2♠ sure stopper in major suit indicated, 2NT in both majors there are stoppers, 3♣/3♦ without stopper. In our case bidding follows as at table ending in 5♣. 2♦ shows : 1) a singleton or a void; 2) a minor suit with almost five cards or two minor suits; 3) almost 11 points; 4) no interest for major suit.
  8. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-53134157-1432231483 North (Sillafu)..............East (Petra33)...............South (JEC)...................West (Mina50)..................... ♠ N Q 8 6 E A 10 9 5 S 3 W K J 7 4 2 ♥ N 9 6 2 E J 10 4 3 S A K W Q 8 7 5 ♦ N A Q 6 E 8 5 S K 10 7 2 W J 9 4 3 ♣ N A K 10 9 E Q 5 4 S J 8 7 6 3 2 W --- N-S vul W-E not vul Bidding : W - N - E - S p, p - 1NT - p - 2♠(c=trsfxclub), X - 3 ♣ - p - 5♣
  9. This is my first topic dedicated at this "complementary" convention by Stayman to search fit in a minor suit using 2♦ answer to strong NT opener bidding. I has choosen a recent hand by JEC-sillafu to present it: 7121:25sillafuJECpetra33mina505♣N=60012.00Movie or LinTraveller
  10. We must show our hand that in spade has 4 honors for a suit as of 6 cards, in heart a just and also strong support for probable partner suit(=trump), in diamond values(=control) than excuding NT(=no stopper in club) and bidding at level with a light forceness 4 ♣(=points in three suits) should show this nice hand.
  11. I will restart this point because i am of the idea to cross transfert with 2♦ Stayman for minor suit contract in this way: 1NT(=15-17)-2♦ only ambigous meaning transfert for heart (when weak) or Stayman for minor suit contract (not weak) whilest the other transfert for spade and minor are the usual transfert meaning.Partner considers 2♦ as minor signaling controlls as already said than 2♥=sure stopper in heart. If 2♦ bidder doesn't want search for a minor stop bidding with 3♥ to pass as in classical Stayman with 2♣ followed by 3♣. Are you agree ?
  12. I think that GIB is feared about impasse (in this case against King of heart retained for a second round losing than 1 heart+2 diamonds=3tricks if..vs -2). Infact i had observed that when King is onside i lead a little card because often GIB cover with Ace making my King winner.
  13. It's a preliminary squeeze.
  14. I don't know if is the right place (probably not) for this one: i have seen by "Last click" three topics i want see on second time but when i tried searching it on box (also with more general indication) i was not able to find. However ? The three topics are : "kickback discussion question" and "keycard Gerber 1430 & kickback" and " partner jump in suit making your hand a monster ". Thanks.
  15. I think it is possible resume so: partnership agree a minor suit enter 3th level than raising at 4th level is Minorwood; when it is not is available kickback (♦/♥ for club/diamond). The trump suit may also be estabilished inferentially by a jump being last suit bidded by partner before jumping. The point of aptention is that when a suit is bidded at four level and expecially if a new suit needs see if the suit before (as in kickback) has been bidded by partner because if not this should be a cue bid. Similarly overcall of suit of opp starts RKB.(Handle with care).
  16. No, not only heart but also spade (on major suits). The solution of keycards it's a mine idea; this convention it is better of "Swiss" being of same type (strange that you don't know because is not recent).
  17. As i have already said in "1♥-p-4♥" (topic-see) i use "Oklahoma" convention to give partner information of number of Ace(s) in this way : it's estabilished that 4♣=1 Ace, 4♦=2 Aces whilest with no ace 4 of trump and opener values if information serves and if not corrects in 4 of trump. But because i see you like insert keycard and to have two Aces could be minus frequent it can change in 4♣=1 keycard, 4♦=2 keycards and 4 of trump with 0 keycard (becoming "keycard-Oklahoma").(Lovera)
  18. Gerber is used on balanced hands (opening bid 1NT or 2NT ..4♣ either by partner or opener) and over 2♣-2x followed by 2NT whilest 4NT when you are agree trump suit in the other cases. So it allows you to use cue bid and identify easly that 4♣ is a cue (showing A of club). With the occasion i want suggest to find and see also the 4♣ by Walter Avarelli (that i used instead Gerber) that allow you (expecially for first answere indicating 0/1 Ace) to stay low in bidding.
  19. But in your example starting 1♥ and endind 4♥ 4♠(=suit of opp) is not also RKCB for heart ?
  20. It exit, to solve difficulty about natural bidding, the Cicchelli conventional system [highly compatible to Culbertson's asking-bid]. In this case 3♠=? in spade. The answeres are: first step -here 3NT- neg.=without controlls, positively if there is a controll in suit segnaling also controlls in the others three suits in this way: for every controll of first round (Ace or void) two steps up, for every controll of second round (King or singleton) one step up. Singletons or voids are showing only if are in query(=spade) suit. For our case 3♠(=?in spade for controlls)-4♦(=three steps up equivalent to three controlls).
  21. If you want to know If in spade suit there is K it's sufficent 5♥=? for Q-5♠=yes Q+K of spade.(Lovera)
  22. It's better first estabilish a fit (and in any case also two ones) thinking for a probable slam (yet to avoid interference by opp) than splinter (that could be used for value better by shape information own hand).
  23. Althoug 4♥ means good support in suit (infact we have a 6 keycard Blw) and more possibility to find four honors in heart/diamond. Why not 4NT by E (5♦=3 keys-5NT=all keys, 6♣=K or singleton ..) ?
  24. I too think it's better 3♥ (having fourthemore a suit with six cards) because there is possibility of a second fit and singleton in diamond could be shown in an eventual RKCB (strong Stayman NT where 1NT is not opened when 5-3-3-2).
  25. I think that in West we could find probabler 4-4-3-2 shape than 4-3-3-3. However why doesn't continue discussion (also about others aspect to consider) ?
