It because i have void in club considered like an Ace but that makes me thinking N can have AK ♦ and A ♣.
-
I agree with rhm when said :and what was 3♥ by a passed hand ? A forcing raise ? This hand seems to me interesting if we put that S RKB having answer of two Aces w/o Q and subsequently query about Kings estabilishes AK in diamond and willing to look for a grand. Than after the eventual 6♥ N with the Ace of trump should bid seven.

If doubler has its own long and strong suit can show it and the strength of his hand is the level to which reveals its one: (89) ♠ AKQ543 ♥ KQ7 ♦ A52 ♣ 6 1♥-X-p-2♣ , p-? "Bid 3 ♠: A double followed by a jump to the level of three shows that the doubler can make 9 tricks with his cards and requires the heat input from only a trick by partner.(Stayman system The second bidding of doubler pagg. 275-276 Chpt XV about the many types of informative double).

May i know if you agree or had experimented this my conventional bidding that allow you to indicate Aces and Kings togheter in aside cue suits ? It is not concorrential with RKCB or Kickback if you remaining in fourth level but integrative, bye.

Infact (but if not is..?) and 6 ♠ ? We are watching simply to look for any possibility or complexity about.

E/W vul, E dealer: E ♠ 8754 ♥ A10764 ♦ 2 ♣ Q103 S ♠ AK96 ♥ - ♦ KQ54 ♣ A9864 W ♠ 102 ♥ QJ9532 ♦ - ♣ KJ752 N ♠ QJ3 ♥ K8 ♦ AJ1098763 ♣ - Bidding : (p) - 1♣ - (1♥) - 2♦, (3♥) - 4♥ - (p) - 6♦, All p. About Jinksy said "Ignoring the EW hands (is it worth posting them? It makes the post harder to read, and they're not really relevant to our decision" at analisys level is it right (i.e. there is a second fit in spade and how get 7 ♠?)

Although it is possible to save last 100 hands for an indefinete time on app and for three monthes back in My Hands Database.

Although the hand of North (courtesly a diagram is welcome) has more extras among longness in trump suit, void in club and also QJ in spade and, let's say that N try to bid 2♦ (instead a forcing 3♦) intending to stay low in bidding for jumping subsequently but doesn't so show its 8th suit. Than starting by 4♥ that it being cue in opp suit is RKB for diamond the answere should be 5♣ meaning 2A w/o Q or 1A+void w/o Q and an eventual 5♠ by S sures all keys and Q and calls for Q in spade and N could show with 6♣ its void and willing by partnership to get in grand ( indicating no losers in heart suit).(Lovera)

This is a strong hand about interference requiring almost two different biddings to show its force than you can initially double and then jumping on diamond to indicate own suit in this type hand and eventually inserting spade cue (if it is possible). About bidding old style not much is changed but there are many efficently revisiting (i.e. the old Blackwood is now used less, about the slam approach are now used RKCB or Minorwood or Kickback whilest the strong twos were simply a remembering and transferts has to use frequently and in many ways on strong 1NT 15-17) but instead any old convention must remain to study its implication on bidding with opponents and what happening and change lacking that one because those ideas by author has improve bridge (at their times).
-
Lovera doesn't think is a case of exitation Blackwood. Infact if the first bid of player at four level is 4NT is this one considered as informative double searching fit in a minor (here diamond) but S has also a (good) selfsupporting heart suit than ..slow 5♦ raised to six by partner considering 2♠ limiteted about force.

Hi everybody. No i don't use translater because don't help as you have evidentiated already. But if anything was not clear and because i have told about many arguments, as you can see in "My Content" from my profile, it is simple to ask and i am available for a clearness. Infact if one tells anything i think it is ok and go on to talk about. Let me know, bye.

This is another hand with Boulenger in N and Svarc in S that shows an exception in 4NT answer (the other should be void+2A):W ♠ AJ973 ♥ KQ108 ♦ 4 ♣942 N ♠ - ♥ A9765432 ♦ 108 ♣ AQ5 E ♠ 108642 ♥ J ♦ 653 ♣ K1073 S ♠ KQ5 ♥ - ♦ AKQJ972 ♣ J86 The original bidding was : N/S 1 ♥/3♦, 3♥/4♦(=selfsupp.suit), 5♣(=cue)/6♦, 7♦ My bidding is the same until 4♦ then 4♠(=void agree diamond)-4NT(five c. considering Q of trump as a K) and the answer of 5♣ tells N 2A and no K than bidding should end in 6♦.
-
"At first glance only one alternative: to beat the trump cards and do the impasse at the Queen of hearts ... closing his eyes. If the Q is in N third the hand is made. But the cards were instead: N ♠ 6532 ♥ 8 ♦ 5 ♣ Q986532 S ♠ 7 ♥ Q974 ♦ AJ98732 ♣ 7. Looking for an alternative, Svarc considered that with distributions so eccentric perhaps S had no trump, in which case not only the ♣ K could have taken, but one might have come to a final squeeze . So ♣ K and club ruffed .. to this ending: W ♠ A ♥ 3 ♦ K ♣ - N ♠ - ♥ - ♦ - ♣ Q98 E ♠ - ♥ AJ10 ♦ - ♣ - S ♠ - ♥ Q9 ♦ A ♣ - Svarc leads ♠ A and S is squeezed".

If let's consider bidding after 2♠: 3♥(=overcalling at second round indicates rever 6-5 club/diamond)-p-3♠ then 4♥(=cue-void) agree spade. The subsequent 4NT could be Bw for c. if Q is equal to K for five controls. In this case 5♣ indicates 2A+0K and with void in heart you read the whole hand of partner.
-
This hand seems in bidding and perhaps play similar at the one in my topic in Expert cl.b. We can have 12 tricks ruffing heart in dummy, returning in spade impassing twice club..
-
Because it is in a book that presents problems of bidding/play i'll tell that: the opening leads is ♣ 3 to J. The impasse is ok and Svarc discards a diamond. Little heart to K then diamond ruffed, Ace of club but S ruff Svarc overuffing, another diamond ruffed. What's planning line also in case of Queen of heart fifth in South ?
-
Let you look at this hand that has many points of aptention (from " Bridge Suspense Avec Pierre Jais " by P. Jais pagg.203-206) : E-W vul in E dealer Guiton in W Svarc (partnership tournament) W ♠ AKQJ84 ♥ K3 ♦ KQ1064 ♣ - E ♠ 109 ♥ AJ10652 ♦ - ♣ AKJ104. The original bidding was : 1♥-(S 2♦)-2♠-(p), 3♣-(3♦)-X-(p), 4♣-(p)-4NT-(p), 5NT(E indicates 2A+void)-(p)-7♠. This is instead my bidding : 1♣-(S 1♦)-2♠-(p), 3♦-(p)-3♠-(p), 4♦-(p)-4NT(having the same bidding between RKB and Bw for c.)-(p), 5♥(=2A+K easy to read w/o Q)-7♠. The bidding problem could be : for Bw E doesn't want or cannot bid (but here can) 4NT and can be inference with RKB standing agreement but here i want indicate this point of distributional value to apply in this conventional bidding (3♦ indicates rever club/heart and 4♦ a void agreeing spade and starts conv.).
-
Here it is why i.e. needs not jumping (as i have told in RKCB0314) in 5NT (but here we can make a few as a problem of programming related with CC/system adopted): 5♣(=RKB0314) or 5♦ in the other case, clear you stopping in 5♥. In the other eventualites when you can get up it is possibile indication of void quering for Q (5NT=void+Q).(Lovera)

I have posted about the cue bid approach for a general knowoledge, reporting from the N. Ghelli book for a better description of this argoument improved/refined by the Italian Blue Team (you can see about it also the topic "Turbo" by Double! in General Bridge Discussion). On returning at this conventional bidding i initially have tested it on slam hands but this one is good for answers and to verify mechanism. Subsequently i have (quickly) watched many hundreds of hands with bidding starting from first level (not 1NT or more) and ending in game (from books that i have) non releving that the couple "cue-then 4NT" was presented (if one was the other not) but one in "Il Quadri Livorno" by Benito Bianchi: N ♠ AKxxx ♥ Axxx ♦ xx ♣ Jx S ♠ xx ♥ KJxx ♦ AQxx ♣ Kxx Bidding N/S 1♠-2♥, 3♥-4♥ but here (1♠ and raise at second round by N indicate an hand with bad 14 points) having to sure to play at fifth level bidding must end necessarly in game. About cue i have told of "a new suit at fourth level" but this concept can be more extensive (you can see it in my posts in the topic "Bidding question" in Intermediate or advanced ..).

How To Find the Grand
Lovera replied to eagles123's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
So, after 2♣ bidding, 2NT, 3♥-4♥, 4NT(=usual RKB 1430) we can have:1) 5♦(=0 keys-3 kings) for 5♥;2) 5♣(=1 key-1A+KQ) and with 5NT you can solve dilemma. Infact 6♦ means KQ in diamond for 6♥ whilest 6♥ tells about lacking K in spade (neither club nor diamond that is above trump). The play should be: you win, draw trump, unblocking minor(s), run spade for ruffing club. -
How To Find the Grand
Lovera replied to eagles123's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
With 2♣ should be easier because if there is a positive answer, much probable, you know N has 3 Kings or A+KQ (i.e. in diamond) but here N probably bids 2NT (1,5/2 def.ve tricks) indicating a balanced hand 4432 or 4333 and between the (equal) major suits heart seems more solid. The 4♦ bidding seems don't work.(Lovera) -
Hi Zelandakh. I had to remember that this Blackwood for controls i have told in the topic in Expert cl. bridge ask it in all suits but the cue one (here diamond). The partner hand composition allow to collecate easyly top honors indicated. With 5♦(=1A+1K here), excluding the diamond cue suit, we have the A in club and K in spade (at the moment). In this hand E has a void in diamond and wanting to know If W has Ace or King (plus ♣ A and ♠ K) in diamond bids 5NT : with K will be bidded a suit out cue whilest with A the cue suit or 6♦ in adjunction to (but here is not the case), bye.
-
Yes that ♦ A exist but in this case the answere is 6♦(=cue suit with A). About deciphretion, it maybe, but i have caught the occasion of this topic to explain now anything that can subsequently indicate in topic suggest, bye.

I like or it is right to bid 2♣ as fsf that, en passant, is a bidding solution i had not thinked correlated to my overcall (see the topic "Reverses" in General Bridge Discussion) of opp suit for this case of 6(+)/5 (that are always alive). Than: 1♦ 1♥ 1♠ 2♣! 2NT 3♠ and we have spade with agree trump. Now if let's consider to cue bid by W should be better diamond as new suit that make clear to be a cue (but also is true that 2♣ is art. too) but can be bidded as cue also a suit previously declared if this one is in your agreement/system. Now if let's consider this one you are preparing answer for conventional Bw for controls (much probable to succed-see my topic "Most it had been told .." in Expert class bridge) with 4♦(=cue with 1.st or 2.nd round c.) and E having 5 c.(=2A+1K) bids 4NT. The 5♦(=1A+1/2K) answer tells you A in club and K in spade with 11 sure tricks, impasse in spade and squeeze possibility if a King is in diamond (much probable). How to know it ? With 5NT bidding (to clear ambiguity but not for E that want to know what honor is in cue suit)-6♥(=K in cue with only a King aside) that you can convert because having heart as a second fit (there is a grand if J is in spade as here but is hard/riskious to know it in time to program bidding).

Chapter XI M. CUE-BIDS AND ASKINGS I. Conventions informative for controls in a suit M.1. Cue-bids (..) In modern systems such as the Roman Club or the Blue-Team Club the meaning of the cue-bids (defined as "informative" in the Roman Club and Precision System) has become more elastic (and than of difficult application out of those systems). The fundamental principles to which they are ruled are in fact: a) the "first informative" [from now called F.I.]indicates a strong hand if performed in a non-forcing bidding situation or a hand above the minimum if carried out in a situation already forcing; b) F.I. may indicate a control of both first and second round; c) F.I.can not rule out the controls in the eventual skipped suit; d) the cue bid by responder excludes controls on skipped(=jumped) suit ;e) F.I. made on the suit immediately below trump agree asking for controlls in the next higher suit; f) an informative "jumped" from the respondent and used in a next round indicates a doubleton or Q; g) the jump in the trump suit above the level of game, after established the existence of controls in other suits, is an invitation to declare a slam with a good support in trump suit (..) The declaration of 4 NT has the meaning of "general cue bid" with which player asks to report the values possessed and not shown or any plusvalue or extras (..) (From "Le convenzioni nel bridge" by Nino Ghelli -first edition 1973- pagg. 124-125).
