Thank you Barbara; The "beach party" won't be the same without you :( Wish you all the best Aisha

HI Misho! Yes, you are right, i don't use those relay methods, one reason is that i dont know them..... and after the XX many times opps have come in with a preemptive bid.. So i suppose i should move on to some more advanced form of bidding after the X... Thanks :) Aisha

To me, any bid after a X is non forcing.... the XX is the only bid which shows 10+ pts.... Short but sweet :D Yours truly Aisha B)

Hello Fred; Welcome back! In your absence there have been discussions about a bug in 3.6.7 version, and i am not sure how much of it you have read, so i apologize in advance, if this is a repetiton. These are the following problems i personally have encountered: 1.) When I kibb or play at a table, and try to click lobby button it doesnt work and suddenly i find myself frozen and cant chat to room or kibbers... when i click "back" to go to lobby, it takes me back withouth any problems, once i return to table I find myself in the same situation... once i log off, and reboot, everything is back to normal. (this happened to me 4 times so far since i downloaded this new version) 2.) When i click the "alert" button, then move mouse towards my bid, suddenly the bidding box disappears and i find myself having passed....(this happened a few times) once i click "undo" and it has been accepted, i am able to see all hands... (this only happened once so far) Thank you for looking into it... Regards, Aisha

Edvin; When i first started reading your post, i thought: "oh my god! When did i write this? " You look so much like me, we could be twins :D I was stunned for a few seconds, then realized I hadnt looked at the name.... just so as not to cut this thread and keep it in context, i will add to my post (you might think you wrote it when you first look at it also.. he he) I AGREE WITH YOU! good day :) Aisha -
TD Adding a Sub without permission
aisha759 replied to AdOut's topic in BBO Tournament Directors Forum
Having read your explanation, AddOut, you have a few good points there... getting distracted though, and forgetting to unsub, is not very valid, even though i'm sure it happens to many players...it would a perfect world, if sub could get the invitation by being asked and informed as to his/her partner would be (level mostly.. and hoping that level in profile is correctly chosen... :D ) I don't think that's up to TD's to have all the options available, but up to software, not sure though.. Yes, subs are very valuable and should be handled with care in each way possible.. I have added myself to sub list many times, and had to sit waiting in lobby; couldnt even leave compi for too long, for fear of keeping others waiting.. and if i decide to join a table in the bridge club, i tell everyone at the table that i might get vacuumed into tournament as a sub.. so maybe thats an idea. If you are teaching, then i think best is to remember to unsub yourself.. :D) Aisha -
Hi Uday; I will check and see if TD calls are divided the way you mentioned... it sounds fair enough; but from what i remember just hosting 2 days ago, i was getting calls from table 4, then 18, then 46... (numbers are random) but just trying to tell you that calls were coming from different sections, and we were 3 TD's Thanks Aisha

aisha759 replied to Rado's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Thank you Ben for clearing this misunderstanding... why? should not be discussed, but expressing feelings of sadness at seing Ece and Steve leave are allowed.. I apologize, i missed the posts which asked the reasons, i had only read the other ones. (maybe you had already edited).. Regards, Aisha -
Ece and Steve please do not leave BBO
aisha759 replied to Rado's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Oh dear! Sorry thought Forum was open for opinions and thoughts... they have recieved private messages, this was meant to be public.. :( -
Hi Uday; I think it would be a very bad idea to consider a player who just leaves a main bridge club table and logs off, as a bail out... how many hands would he have to play in one session, to consider him in the "completed" category.. i know you haven't done anything about this yet, but your posts suggests you are thinking about it.. in tournaments, i couldnt agree with you more; as part time TD and semi full time tournament player, it's a nuisance ( the intentional ones of course).... since TD'scant really tell the difference , unless the player is a notorious "crashee" measures need to be taken and you could take a poll as to how many warnings, days, tourney, bans etc... if you allow for everyone to give a number, it will be never ending; you might end up with a thousand different opinions as to what the "?" should be.. P.S. i thought yellows could tell the difference between intentional and bad connection, and if they can differentiate, why punish both types of log offs in the same manner? I personally had to log off turney yesterday, reboot, and come back; i was in luck, that i had time left in round, made up for it next round, and my partner knew my problem .( i previously mentioned i had this bug in the 3.6.7 version where i freeze/get stuck and cant see lobby nor use chat bar while kibbing or playing) should i be punished for this? it is happening more often than not lately.. that would put me in the "no no" category soon :() Ctr+alt+delete was the only way i could log off by the way.. Thank you; Aisha
