Clear 2♠ bid with ♣Kx and a max passed hand !
-
Pass, too dangerous vul ! Sometimes preempts work (that's why we all do them !) ! :)
-
I also play the first one which is french standard but here in Belgium, a lot of players open ♦ with 4+ cards only !
-
I bid 2♣ as I don't want to play NT myself ! Not necessary club suit on ♦ opening if you don't want to lie in majors !
-
1) 1♦ 2) Pass
-
Partner is probably 4-4-3-2 or 4-4-4-1 (most probably because 2♦ bid shows no ♣ tolerance ) So 2♥ ! :(
-
I totally agree !! :) Nearly impossible to play 6♣ imo !
-
A long time ago, I posted this : It is difficult to find 8 players (lot of chat ....) and it is off course easier to find 4. So, why not create a "team desk" where you can register a team of 4 players. This "team desk" will work just as the "partnership desk" in a pair tournament !
-
Idem for me : 1&2 seat 1♠, 3&4 seat 4♠.

Go to Bridgebase/myhands : http://online.bridgebase.com/cgi-bin/history.pl

Pass : too weak, bad suits, no single ! Let's hope partner has to re-open  If we have something then the preempt did its job !
-
Commonly, 6 losers for two suiters that imply to play at the 3 level and till 8 losers for two suiters playable at the 2 level :P

Ben says : 2♦ - X - XX = ♦'s and values. 2♦ - X - 2♥ pass/correct as if no double 2♦ - X - 2♠ pass/correct showing ♥ values as if no double.... Wayne (Cascade) says : 2♦ (X) Pass = diamonds this way we can offer diamonds without having to play redoubled. This is important when I know we are going off but I think diamonds will be less off than the major. 2♦ (X) XX = bid your suit 2♦ (X) 2♥ = I have hearts (and I know you probably have spades but I am not interested) 2♦ (X) 2♠ = I have spades (and I know you probably have hearts but I am not interested) A lot of people are doubling the multi 2♦ opening with (12)13-15 bal. For that reason it is preferable not to bid if you have nothing to say because by bidding you give them the possibility to Dbl in the fourth seat showing some values with no bid available. (ex : 2♦ dbl 2M dbl = values) So I think that Wayne's treament is better :P Alain

Partner is strong and has at least 5♥. It's imps and I have to take certain risk to beat it. As Fluffy, let's go for the ♥J ;)
-
In 1st hand : clear 1♦ opening (easy 2♦ rebid and good lead for partner) in 4th hand : PASS (use the rule of 15 : HCP + Nbr of cards in ♠ <15 then "no opening ) :D
-
I play with a partner, I promised a long minor and a ♥ stopper and he decided to pass so I pass, of course ! :D
-
That says everything ! Of course I cue bid :D
-
Totally agree with Misho and will do the same ! <_<

How do you bid this slam in 2/1 ?
joker_gib replied to Chamaco's topic in Natural Bidding Discussion
Bidding was fine. That slam is impossible to bid ! ;) -
Impossible to reach the page ! B) Do you know the results ? Tx :)
-
Dbl too, of course ;)

A strong-club system for beginners?
joker_gib replied to helene_t's topic in Non-Natural System Discussion
Totally agree with Misho and Mikestar. :o First of all, teach them the rules of the game. Everyday, I see people playing bridge and they just don't know what they are doing !! Teach them the national basic system so that it will be easy for them to find partners. You cannot improve your game if you don't find suitable partners ! :o -
If 2♠ is Muiderberg, east has 5 ♠ (I hope !) and 4 or 5♦. So, general principle is to ruff the ♦ and endplaying west in trump (hoping he has not more than 3). So I take the lead, ♦ ruff , ♠ ruff , ♦ ruff, ♠ ruff, ♦ ruff with the ace : If west follows then ♠ ruff, two top trumps and trump endplaying west who has to play ♥ If west throw a ♥ : same line if west throw a ♠, i come back to hand with the ace of ♥ and I endplay west in trump hoping he has ♥Q

DONT and Cappellite
joker_gib replied to janicesze's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
Hi all ! Here is what I play : On strong NT : Dbl = Transfer to 2♣ with ♣ or both majors (if so I rebid 2♦) 2♣ = Transfer to ♦ 2♦ = transfer to ♥ with 6♥ or 6♠ 2♥ = ♥+ minor 2♠ = ♠+ minor 2NT = minors On weak NT : Dbl = opps NT range + 2 HCP (sometimes +1) 2♣ = Landy (majors) All other bids natural This is not difficult and it works quite well ! Alain :) -
Well Ben, I'm not really sure about the forcing pass situation because my partner did not dbl 3♠ so that the opps must have points (not clear who attacks and who defends). What my partner is trying to tell me by his dbl is that he thinks that it is better not to bid at the 6 level. Not sure of course that this is the good decision but bridge is a game of 2 persons and I'll go for his decision, I'll pass. Alain
