The problem is not North, but South, that is not bidding according to system. It is very frustrating, that GIB's implementation of Michaels Cuebid (and 2N like here) is wrong, so any further bids from the cuebidder shows 25+ - I think Stephen has written it before, as North has promised no points, souths bid shows the number of hcp needed to win the contract - here that is 25+ total points. Last time i forgot GIB jumped to 7♣ :-)

What will you discard? On the actual layout there is 11 tricks, and your discard can't cost a trick, but you might fool GIB - or just let GIB get a bad simulation. Have you made up your mind?

Unfortunately there is no way to improve GIB, so the only thing we can do is to be better partners for GIB. I have noticed, that even though it is often stated that the bots don't signal, it looks to me, that some signalling occur. Perhaps it is just the randomness of the discards, that makes me remember, when it match the actual holding, and just not notice, when it doesn't match But let us look at an example from yesterdays Challenge - this is NOT the advanced bots [hv=pc=n&n=sj976hk74daqjck65&s=sakq43ha963dk6cq8&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=p1cp1sp2sp4np5dp6sppp]266|200[/hv] You quickly bid to 6♠, and the West bot lead ♥J to the King (♥8 from East) This is a fine slam, as all you need is to find where ♣A is located, and Mortons fork Coup is present (https://www.bridgebu...s_fork_coup.php) Normally I would expect East to hold ♣A more than 50% of the time as West might have lead it, but I am not sure about the bots leading principles Now all followed to two rounds of ♠, and you have arrived at the decision point. Is the ♣A at east or West? Well, just playing it like normal bridge, I cashed one more round of trump (ending in dummy), to see some discards, and West threw ♣3 and East♣9. So did that change anything? Now, we players might assume that a high card is encouraging, but as bots don't intentionally signal it is probably not the case, but still it signals something to us, as the bots often drops the highest card it can afford. ♠ is 2-2 ♦ is probably 4-4 as no ♦-discards So clubs seems to be 4-4 or 5-3, but assuming 4-4 based on the discards, it seems both opponents are 2344 Have you made up your mind?

I just lost at 16 board match by 31, not the first time, and certainly not the last time, but what I noticed here was my opponent 7 times out of 8 opened the weaker minor, and gained 31 Imp's. Two of the 3 boards was because the bot could not figiure out where to play as the opening stole their suit, so the bot went 800 and 1100. Could be interesting if anyone had made some statistics about opening weaker minor with the strongest hand.

I understand, that there is no signaling, but it should not slow down the bot to calculate that a card is carrying some information, that could be used in the simulation. If partner isn't following suit it is obvious partner is void, but here it could be calculated that partner must have a singleton, but thx for the answer

I would be nice if GIB at least har some understandable rules about leads later in the play. I think I have seen almost any combination, as it seems pretty random, when the simulation gives identical results. For advanced players the sequence KA8 is showing interest in lowest suit, and the sequence ♠AK8 is showing interest in the highest suit. This is way beyond robot-logic, so it will just make a simulation ending up with a ♥-lead. In https://www.bridgeba...ystem_notes.php it is stated: When it has a choice of equivalent cards, it will choose based on leading and signaling conventions. I haven't found the leading and signaling conventions, but I would assumed that when leading a ♥ here it would play 4th highest. What do you think?

Trying to find a competitive bid I looked at the explanation of 3♣, and it was explained as 5+♠ :-)

So even though a bid is limited to 15-17 HCP from a 1N bid, the simulation does not use that ? But instead looks at the undefined bid and assumes 25+ HCP. Very interesting error in GIB's logic.
