What about if other peoples opinion is correct and your opinion is wrong? I do not think it makes you weak, it makes you more reasoned and capable of making better judgements (imho)

just because someone can afford to drive SUV's. heat their house to a nice temeperature , or even aircondition it (using massive amounts of a dwindling resource) eat until they become a burden on the state, does not mean that market forces will curtail it, nor does it mean, you have a right to excess, just because you can. If a future president does not have the right to tell us what to do, or at least make policies that are looking to benefit future generations of people, whos responsibility is it? Life style is something people attain through choice or circumstance, Increasing energy prices, will make less choice of lifestyle attainable by many due to circumstances, at least Obama (and probably every other politician) sees that there is a problem looming, I do not understand how you can not see that there is a problem looming and it needs to be tackled NOW, before it is too late (and by too late, may not neccessarily mean in our life time)

I think this is what is happening all over the world, I do not think it is just about Vancouver, I think it is Globalisation and free trade that is causing it to happen

Hi, I have a question here, I watched this hand being played and I wondered about the way it was played from the position of seven rounds have been played and declarer is in dummy with the K hearts winning. I thought best play was to take the remaining hearts out and hope for a good break on spades (I may well have missed something in counting out the hand, as I saw all 4 hands) I just don't understand how playing on spades is good (I just need enlightening as I can't work out why someone would play spades and not take out the hearts first) p.s. I cant see why you should not, your pard has forced to game and sset ur suit, you had a chance to show more hearts (if you had them) but bid clubs, he never stopped the bidding by going to 4 hearts so he is still looking for info give him one last bit of info before shutting up after his (possibly expected clu or damond cue bid) if he bids 4NT then you can describe your hand and end at the 5 level, which he is happy to play over by bidding 3hearts not 4 hearts (imho) 3 spades for me

playing sayc, could you not use 1NT - 4 spades to show a 5/5 minor hand (game going) and 1NT - 5 clubs and a 5/5 minor hand and with possible slam potential (i.e) bid six with max points as these two bids (I think) have no meaning in sayc takes away the ability to play in 3NT (I know) or use the expert methods 1NT 3 clubs to show 5/5 minors 1NT 3 D to show Game going 5/5 minor split and the sunsequent 3H + 3S to show major shortage and 5/4 minor splits
