why is michaels and UNT different, why is it not part of the same convention

Ok, lets assume the following is true. (may be assume" is in appropriate) I had not agreed to play michales or UNT, but I alerted that bid as hearts and a minor I had not agreed to play anything in particular for the 3 club double, but I knew what I wanted it to mean so why should should my opps not get shitty with me, when I alert a bid that cleary, I had not agreed to play but decided my pard was clever enough to work out what it means (Michaels convention) (he or she was advanced, on their profile) and yet, I make another call exactly the same (we had not agreed to play anything particular and the same things, I assumed my p was adavnced and could work it out for him self) Yet I stated (when asked) no agreement with p, all in the same hand, I think as far as it goes the general consensous is that I was ok to bid no agreement (because I clearly was with a pick up p and no history of anything like an agreement for these bids), but I stil have an issue I would like to understand if you will bear with me. 1/. does this make me a hypocrite 2/. Would you or might you find my attitude is poor 3/. do you thik that the inconsistancy of what I did annoying if you were my opp on this hand

actually Hannie there is a problem, the person who made the challenge feels belittled and isolated, so I do not think I am making a problem, there is a problem, no one considered the feeelings of the person making the challenge and I am sure they would like a proper answer to this as 1/. It will prove he was wrong in his challenge and he probably would think twice about doing it again. a learning curve ? 2/. If he is right then maybe I can learn from it as well, I think he was justified to challenge (but this is only my opinion and I know I am not always right so a learning curve for me also)

I myself will bid 1NT with a singleton with some pards (I think I always alert it, unless I am playing against someone that knows I do this, but I am sure I forget occasionally) Jilly, I am only sayiing that I believe that you should have alerted it as I am sure your partner was not suprised you had a singleton, hence my point you should have alerted it. infrequent to me is once you have done it more than twice in a regular partnership, it will always be in the back of your pards mind and hence it is then an implicit agreement, I think you should alert that it could contain a singleton, I am not 100% sure I would be in a minority of one in my thinking either

Hi I would like a regular partner to play 2/1 I am unreliable occasionally ( due to a very demanding wife 4 kids and 2 grandcildren) but willing to work hard, I want to use the partnership room and I would like to play team games. I am also willing to play our system as we agree it and stick to it, I want some one that does not mind discussing things afterwards and has a thick skin like me, I am not overly sensitive to critisism. some times I do the wrong thing because I do not understand so patience on both parts would be good.
