Yeah, I wanted to reply that I would never Q from QJx since it feels like it's going to mess up partner all the time. Even if it's right technically, seeing the stiff in dummy with 5 trumps (and is it even right then?) in real life I am going to mindlessly follow the jack. 3N shows a hand like x KJxxx QJxx xxx or something like that, not a doubleton in partner's primary suit, 4 card support in his secondary, and aces and nothing in the red suits yes you might fabricate a 3C jump shift but if you are that worried about it you can preference to 3S

I thought 4D was clear i guess the concern is partner has the big balanced hand and 4D drives us too far, whereas we can go 3S 4H since we just expect partner to go again

perhaps it's time to take nige1's lead and ask Spisu to put his money where his mouth is

that shows a flexible hand, typically a hand with only 3 spades because you couldn't raise partner's spades directly
