  1. this is what I play and I'd guess it's standard. I would still bid 2S with your partner's hand though
  2. What's wrong with a 1H overcall? Why does 2S show hearts according to bridge logic? QJT9xxx x Kxx Ax can't bid spades? I imagine 2S is nfc by most NA pairs, and I would just pass and pray that partner has more than 5.
  3. The worst were the animated ads, which would actually noticeably slow down my computer. I haven't seen those lately though, but I guess I always chip in a quarter when I pop on.
  4. 5 of my points are a stiff king and queen dub in their suit
  5. I think it's just a 3 card limit raise that upgraded when you bid diamonds. I'd pass now, you need way too much for slam
  6. gwnn (regular poster for a long time) and I (lurker/trashposter) make bridge videos, for what it's worth. Peter Hollands does too. I don't know if it'd be useful, but it's over the shoulder stuff. Here's gwnn: https://www.youtube.com/user/tgwnn Peter Hollands: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOaZnFbFH1OlbhVm25z4rLQ Mine is in the signature.
  7. I actually really enjoyed Root's play and defense books. I didn't think they were dry like Watson's tome was. I read it cover to cover multiple times while I was commuting to work.
  8. Where is this from? I remember hearing it years ago, but forget the source.
  9. I respect whenever nige1 posts to play problems, and I respect about the first 15% of his bidding choices
  10. Perhaps you should read the second sentence of the opening post.
  11. Don't want to derail, but will partner often bid 2N with a reject? I always just pass and play the 5-2 or whatever.
  12. Huh, I really thought I had included that info. Sorry, it's 1st seat. Edited the post.
  13. Oh sorry, I thought this was a strong NT and we had an unequivocal game force. It looks like you are just going to have to guess: force to game or pass.
  14. Partner opens 3S 1st w/w, your turn Style is normal to aggressive A AJT Axxx KJxxx edited to include position
  15. Double is either penalty or takeout, depending on partnership agreement. Regardless, you can play a cuebid as Stayman. Hopefully that isn't too complex :)
  16. I haven't looked up the hand but I'm glad I wasn't only the one baffled by this decision point!
  17. 4D should be a big raise to 4S. Agree that 4C is natural, and it looks to me like 4N is quant.
  18. lol just kidding, my music arrived yesterday and I spent 2 hours sitting at the piano
