  1. I would rather bid 6♥ than splinter but given the splinter you cannot pass 4♥. I suspect if you ran a simul with the South hand unchanging while giving North an opening 1♥ hand slam will make 6 well over 50% of the time.
  2. hmmm I thought this was a countable reason :(
  3. Depends on your opening bid style. With a partner who will open any 11 it is probably okay NV to just bid 3♦ otherwise you just have to guess 3NT
  4. in 1)psyches are allowed if you want the opps to help you find it. Of course partner will assume your side has it so it is not risk free. In 2) this is common expert practice but assumes you have the K. The odds of not picking up the Q are so low that it is ignored.
  5. you are asking in a vacuum. What meanings have you assigned to 2m, 2♠, 3m,3♠. Personally I would take as a hand too good to overcall 1♠but with either no ♥ fit or 3 at best.
  6. the advantage of 1NT is you are all set to pass Stayman or a ♥ transfer
  7. The argument for 3♣ in all cases is that a)they have a fit so you rate to have one also :( you get the lead you probably want against 3NT needless to say this is not risk free but at least you have a license to steal.
  8. these are the most dangerous colors so yes I agree and no I don't reopen
  9. test diamonds early if LHO has the 3 then play him for a stiff K♣ otherwise play him for for Tx♣ assuming I counted by tricks right
  10. I didn't miss this thread, although its vintage KRex. as an aside is he related to TRex?
  11. why wouldn't I want to make a passive lead on this auction. i.e. lead a trump since they are picking up the suit anyway. Next choice would be a ♥. Next would be a minor suit after you pry one out of my cold dead fingers
  12. you mean in your system a 2NT rebid shows 20-22? with 8 controls I rebid that anyway.
  13. How would 3♣ be different than X followed by #♣
  14. assuming 4♦ denies a ♣ cue means no A or K I would lead the A♣. Failing that I would lead a ♠. Both the remaining suits are just bad leads IMO
  15. I'm a passer too and I thought this was going to be a lead question :)
  16. oops trying to hide it in the edit not that the answer gives away much
  17. WHAT!!! A voice of reason in the wilderness??? :D
  18. On BBO I do this all the time with the same result everytime :D
