  1. Your expectation is wrong. The list will be checked at the moment when they register. At least this was the way it worked last time when I tried.
  2. When you open the list of friends scroll down to the very end. Right hand sight you can select all friends or only those online. The only problem might be when your list ist very long you will have to scroll a lot. Give it a try.
  3. There is no way to do that as far as I know. I would ask them to cancel their registration and if they dont follow your request you can remove them after the start.
  4. Same for me I am director for an NBO and for virtual clubs and none of them has acees to table history and plaer history when the tourney is finished. We should have access
  5. But there is an easy way of reporting this abusive bahviour by pressing the profile of the host's player name. When most report, BBO will have a history of bad behaviour.
  6. This is a daylong tournament and I guess you were playing quite late in the night (depending on your time zone). There is a time when the old daylong finishes and the new ones start. I think it is 6 or 7 AM MEZ or CET. You better start a bit earlier or later with these tournaments and dont make long breaks when you play late in the night.
  7. The possibility to watch anonymously was turned off the last couple of month. It was turned on again and now turned off again. I hope this will be the final decision as watching anonmously is supporting self kibitzing more than anything else. Thanks for turning it off again!
  8. BBO-run tournaments cannot really replace private run tournaments. Not everyone wants to play ACBL-like rules and we all including BBO participated from the effort private hosts made. I am sad to see where the way seems to direct to. Actually I am running one tourney a week with my account. When BBO reduces the number of tourneys I will no longer be able to run a team match without deleting the prepared tourney. I cannot copy the tourney any longer. I dont see a good reason for doing that besides pushing players to pay tournaments.
  9. You need 100 logins the day before you will be able to create team matches. The second condition you already fulfil (14 days as far as I remember).
  10. I see the same but I am not sure if one of the opps is repeatedly pressing the button when trying to get rid of the explanation box on his screen by pressing "Erklären" which means explain in English.
  11. When they can write and read best is to tell them to logout and come back. Mostly the problem is solveed by that procedure. I think that is better than kicking someone out. When you have to do it just replace this player with a sub.
  12. A playing director can make sense in small tourneys. The smallest tourney with playing director is a team competition. When participating in the match you cannot enter the other table to solve problems but use chat to find out what to do. When you direct a small tourney with disciplined players and want to play at the same time that is absolutely feasable. There will be only a small number of director calls. But it is not possible to move to another table while playing yourself. You will have to clarify anithing via chat. You need responding players and a patient partner and of course you should already have a sound experience in how to direct tourneys. For advanced directors it might be helpful to use a second nick as co-director and move to tables for calls that are difficult to handle. I do not recommend playing as director when inexperienced or with inexperienced players.
  13. Go for Casual scroll down for private and public clubs in the top you can select public or private, select public There at least you will find BILies Retreat
  14. We could avoid some trouble when we would know when we can setup which size of tourney. We moved already a lot of our tourneys to the morning and afternoon to reduce the load.
  15. Only the host can maintain the include/exclude lists. Even when a co director has the button (having his own hosting rights) it would not work when he maintains the list for someone else tourney. Additional you have to update the tourney when you changed one of the lists.
  16. sar001 is right. There is no Howell Movement on BBO and unfortunately team tourneys with more than 4 pairs are not available either. You can setup 7x2 team matches instead like a Howell movement for 4 tables. 8 1 6 5 4 2 7 3 8 2 7 6 5 3 1 4 8 3 1 7 6 4 2 5 8 4 2 1 7 5 3 6 8 5 3 2 1 6 4 7 8 6 4 3 2 7 5 1 8 7 5 4 3 1 6 2
  17. When I posted in the forum for the first time some years ago I had a similar impression of being treated very arrogant by some players. But this is not true for the big majority of answers you received here. Concerning the bidding, have a look at the descriptions GIB provides for your 2♠ and 3♠ bid. My bidding with GIB improved a lot when I started reading what I promise in its eyes. It is dangerous to overbid as you will find yourself very fast in slam. GIBs bidding is not the best especially in later bidding rounds and it overbids quite a lot. But this time you don't have the hand you promised so don't blame your partner for misbidding.
  18. In HTML Version (the new one) you can customize sound. Select tab "Account" Select "Setting" Now you can deactivate sound completely or scroll down to title "Sound" there you can deactivate "Card played" without deactivating sounds you still like to have Sorry I have no solution for the speed problem.
  19. You only see scores below 50 % in red. All above are in black.
  20. Compared to the scores of other players who played this board already, yours is the bottom.
  21. This is a "normal" pairs tournament where the tables are located in different restaurants/bars/cafes/ spread over a city. You start playing at one location with maybe 4 tables. Then you make a walk to the next location and play there. Walking around, always meeting different players at different places. Searching your way through a city. All have that little map in their hands to find the next place they have to go to. At one place you make your lunch break before you move to the next. Distances are normally no longer than 10 minutes walk. It is really fun as long as it is not raining and a lot of players here love it. Thanks :) found them
  22. I wonder if there are more countries where these kind of tournaments are played. Netherlands (CafeBridgedrive + kroegentocht) Belgium (Bridge Rally) Germany (Kneipenturnier) Great Britain (Café Bridge) Where are these events and what is the name for this kind of tournament? EDIT: new names added from posts below
  23. I just gave it a try and the list of interesting tables is showing not even one table of the main hall with many kibs. result interesting tables: 3 x vugraph 4 x teams with kibs 3 x friends (including one more team table) 1 x star players (not sure why shown) The list for interesting tables is producing something someone thought it would be helpful. It is a black box where you have no influence just the same way you are treated with advertisement. Some make sense most dont.
  24. You will often miss TD calls when there is no sound anouncing it Identifying "reds" at a table is difficult Showing the table number of a TD call in the beginning of the call would help to identify calls from the same table Hard to see where to click to open a TD call Opening a table by using the profile of a player seems not to work. writing chat is too slow especially for directors who have to write a lot default message to "table" please not to Kibitzers or tournament opening results for a player not working (finally it worked but that was much too slow for directing and more steps necessary) Adjustment of results very complicated. Contract and player is not copied I directed in English as in German reading problems would make life even harder. You are using too big fonts for the space you give. Text only partially shown or overlapping quite a lot. right click on players name in chat or from south does not work properly - context menu must consider place on the screen informations in the TD area are only partially shown - seems it only is readable in full screen which I normally do not use for BBO Windows opening are often not changeable in size. Hard to find how to open tables from the list of tables (click to the table number), might be better to add the column join to have it working the same way as usual. I cant identify the blocked players any more (category is missing) - calling rude subs is the result Not possible to copy a players name (often used to open results of a player or to send a chat message) EDIT: There is a possibility in the context menu. Works ok when you are at the table, more difficult when you want to do it from a chat message as the menu is hidden. Still no way found from the profile. Dont find my prepared texts for communication After modifying a tournament the window is not closing many additional confirming clicks needed (for example each TD call I have to click twice to open the table, opening should be default and deleting a context option) In the table list I cannot see if kibbing is allowed or not It would be a real help when it is possible to jump from tournament status to table numbers (I know that would be a new feature but very much welcome) No way to copy text into fields without shortcut In the list of pending tournaments additional lines with error messages are shown. (Starts: NaN:NaN Invalid Date) Obviously you gave up the idea for team tournaments which is a real pity, Team matches are pain on BBO and would realy deserve an improvement. Resume: At the moment it is no fun to direct with HTML. I managed less tables then usual and was definitely doing poor. But at least I could find one improvement: It is possible to insert non integer values for the time. So a host can give 6,5 minutes per board for example.
