  1. The auction: (1♥) - X - (2♥) - 2♠ (P) - 4♣ - (P) - ? Several questions here: 1. Do you play some sort of lehbensohl here? Do you think it should apply? 2. What is the standard treatment of 4♣, and how do you play it? 3. Do you agree with the 2♠ bid with AJxx Qx xx Kxxxx? 4. What's your call over 4♣ with the above hand?
  2. No... I guess I may transfer then splinter in ♦ just in case, but unless I am feeling really optomistic, no I won't.
  3. 2NT: 13-15 Balanced... 2♥ would be 10-12 Balanced or a SJS, leaving 2NT for this purpose.
  4. [hv=d=e&v=n&n=skjtxxhdatxxc9xxx&s=saq9hktdkj9xxcaqj]133|200|Scoring: IMP (3♥) - 3NT - All Pass ATB for missing 6♠ or 6NT...[/hv]
  5. V vs NV at IMPs, playing 2/1, you hold: x AKJ9xxx JT AKx Partner deals (Uncontested): 1♠ - 2♥ 3♦ - What's your plan? Partner's opening was limited to 15 HCP.
  6. All NV at IMPs you hold: x Jx AQJxx Kxxxx LHO opens 1♥, partner passed and RHO bids 3♠ alerted as Weak and pre-emptive... Your bid?
  7. These is actually a strange case for 5♥, since it puts on the pressure for LHO and may get them to stop in 5♠... but I think 6♥ is out of the question since LHO will "guess" 6♠ quite often, which will make easily. Psyching may work also, but I think this is a 5 or 7 hand. 7 seems to be a good bid, especially if looking for a swing. If they want to bid 7♠ now, let them! I'm not wishing that 8 level bids were allowed yet...
  8. If you open 1M with as few as 8 or 9 HCP, how do you distinguish between the light openers and the legitimate 13/14 HCP openers? For example: Axxx Qx AQx AKxx Partner opens 1♥ and LHO bids 1♠... How can you determine the strength of partner's opener?
  9. All NV at MPs, you hold: A9x AJT9xxx xxx ------- You deal: 1♥-(P)-1♠-(2♣) X - (3♣) - 3♠ - (P) ? X was support. Are you going to push for game here at MPs? What about at IMPs?
  10. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=s9hjtxxxdjtxxcxxx&s=sakqxxxhqdaqcakqj]133|200|Scoring: MP How do you bid this hand and where will you land here?[/hv]
  11. The dealer is to blame. Neither of these are great contracts, and on the second one, I'm already worried we're too high!
  12. 4NT didn't occur to me, but I love it! B) 4NT it is...
  13. I'd pass 2♦, since usually my pre-empts are much trashier B)
  14. Our Auction: 1♥ - (X) - 2♣ - (2♠) P - (P) - 3♦ - (P) 3NT - (P) - 4♠ - (P) 5♥ - (P) - 6♣ - All Pass 4♠ was exclusion, 5♥ was 2 Aces Partner held: AT43 AQT75 A8 42 K♠ lead, the play was a little interesting also, but relatively simple. Win in dummy, and lead a diamond to the Q. RHO had the king, so all was well, however if LHO shows up with the king, then you can draw 1 round of trump, and try to ruff the last ♦ in dummy. This requires 3-3♦ or K♦ onside or 4-2♦ where the person with 2 also has 1 trump... I guess there may have been squeeze possibilities, but I think this line is a lot better.
  15. I'm strapped to my desk chair and drowning in torture threads.
  16. 2♥ (I might have overcalled 1♥ I suppose)
