  1. Thanks all, I don't often open the 3 point weak 2s, and our range was 4-9... I just thought that it was pretty crazy to have that rule. lol.
  2. OK, I ran a simulation on 2000 11-12 point 4333 hands opposite a 13-15 NT opener (2-4♠/♥, 2-5♣/♦) and came up with these results: Making: 60% Down: 40% Next, at my partner's request, I ran the same simulation, except constraining it to 2-4 in all suits. This only affected the result by 2%: Making: 58% Down: 42% I think this really proves that these hands shouldn't be downgrading... Is this true?
  3. Partner led a spade, which was ruffed, and when I won my ♥, it was a lost cause. I thought this was an obv ♣ lead.
  4. What are the statistics for 4333 hands, and how much should I downgrade them over 1NT (13-15)? Axxx AQx Qxx xxx AJT Qxx Axx xxxx xxx QJx ATx KTxx xxx Kxx AJxx Kxxx How would you treat these hands? My partner thinks that even at IMPs, we should be downgrading these hands a good 2 points. I disagree, since I think we should be in any games that have a prayer. Something such as Kxx Jxx Kxxx AJx he suggests we should invite. What are your thoughts on this, and how much should we be downgrading here? Or has he just gone mad?
  5. I am about a king short, although the majors hand isn't too bad to bad over partner's 2♦ bid... Otherwise it's miserable though.
  6. Double. LOL me, but I probably would have opened this.
  7. 4♠ after the double. The opponents will be so tilted that they balanced you into game that they will probably misdefend.
  8. AKQTxxx xxx xx x (1♦) - P - (1♥) - 4♠ (5♥) - P - (6♥) - All Pass NV vs V Your lead?
  9. OK, I was playing at the club a few weeks back, and opened my KTxxxx xx xxxx x with 2♠. After the hand was over the opponents called the director, and complained that I was too "light" for a weak 2 opening. The director ruled in their favor and adjusted the board. The director then warned me that opening weak 2s on hands like that is illegal, and that if I did it again I could face serious consequences. The director said I needed 4 HCP to open a weak 2. Is this an ACBL law? If so, what are my restrictions? Or do I need to send this director back to school?
  10. I have confirmed, they are the same Peter J Formaini. LLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Edit: LMAO now. Reedit: ROFL.
  11. I WANT to DEFEND this hand. There is no WAY to make 5 CLUBS after the SMALL diamond LEAD.
  12. Let me get my cloning machine...
  13. 6♠. Maybe even 6♥ if partner can figure this out.
  14. Penalty. Nothing else even remotely makes sense.
  15. So it looks like I may have to move?
  16. Splinter, and to answer the question in the topic, partner enjoys seeing you twist and toil in your seat. I might not say that there is anything wrong with partner though... Since I occaisionally enjoy that myself.
  17. Happy Birthday! :) Have a good one, hopefully crash and refunding everything free day!
