  1. Fit bid ? ...as in fit-showing-jump (FSJ)? ... 3♣ is not a jump here. [ Jdonn's Advancer example hand might be worth a 4C! FSJ ]. Or are you saying, " the only reason for a passed hand to bid a new suit ( non-jump ) is that it also shows 'tolerance' for partner's suit ." ?? As a passed hand, bidding 3♣ here should show at least tolerence for partner's suit, so I assume this is what he is talking about here... I don't think it's anywhere near standard to treat 3♣ as a "Fit"-Non-Jump, however I do believe that it should be a "Tolerance"-Non-Jump.
  2. 2♠, and I'll certainly pass 3♦.
  3. Yes, you are insane. However that doesn't relate to the question too much, I'll bid 3♠.
  4. Hi Fred, Today when I was looking at a hand in a Teaching Table I was also registered to play in the Juniors BBO tournament. The tournament showed "2 Minutes to go", then without warning started. I recieved a message "Player is busy", and wasn't moved to the tournament. I remained at the Teaching Table while the tournament began play. Since there were no sitouts, we could no longer play the tournament. I doubt it matters, but I was on the windows version. My partner who was also at the the teaching table wasn't moved to the tournament either. If this is an intentional feature, what is the point of it? If not, could you see what you can do to fix it?
  5. "??????????????????????????????????" - Random LHO; 9/14/2009
  6. That would produce some ridiculous results in the comparisons for the other tables, though. Most likely much less absurd than others you will see.
  7. [hv=n=skt8642hqj86dcqj9&s=sajhak54dkjt93cak]133|200|2♣ - 2♦ 2NT - 3♥ 3♠ - 5♦ 5♠ - 5NT 6♣ - 6♥ 7♠ - (P) - P - (X) - AP 5♦ was Exclusion 5♠ was 3/0 5NT was King Asking 6♣ showed K♣ 6♥ asking for the K♥ 7♠ was a "Wing it" I was South and had to decide how to justify our bidding... Where is the queen? (RHO doubled)[/hv] So, after this highly revealing auction, RHO (Owen Lien) decides to double. Who has the queen? Also, as a bonus question, where would you like to play this, and how would you bid it? EDIT: Lead is T♥
  8. 2♥. Not only does it take away bidding room from the opponents, but I like 470 more than 260
  9. I believe in general that an undo should be allowed before partner has taken any sort of action... whether it's bidding or playing... especially as 4th hand to a trick. Of course there are Grosvenor exceptions: [hv=n=skj8x&w=sqt9x&e=sxx&s=saxx]399|300|[/hv] Declarer leads small, small, 8... then an undo is asked for. Nope. It's tough to draw a line here, which leads me to believe that once the next hand has played to the trick, an undo should not be allowed...
  10. 1. Pass, oh well. 2. I open, then I'll go with 3♦.
  11. Pass, once I bid 3♣, I think I've committed to passing 3NT.
  12. Both. I would open the south hand, but north has a 100% clear 3NT bid. I'll say 81/20 to north (Yes, 655321 :()
  13. All NV at IMPs: AKx ------ Jxxx AKQxxx You deal: 1♣ - (1♥) - 1♠ - (4♥) ? Edit: 1♠ shows 4+♠
  14. The Lowercase "K" was obviously just to annoy me :D
  15. Somehow, this doesn't surprise me. :D thoughts like that occur to me when sitting elsewhere. Same, but usually they involve absurd relays
  16. Happy Birthday J, Hope you are having fun today!
  17. I really like 2♠ here. Partner may have trouble rebidding spades with 5, and the moysian very well may be the best spot. Also, partner after 2♠ can ask for Range/Length, then I can show a Maximum with 3♠. 2♦ is an underbid and risks losing the spades, 3♦ is an overbid and will almost certainly lose the spades.
