  1. I like it, in a sick and twisted but fun kind of way.
  2. 1 or 3... Playing 2/1 or Standard I bid 3, playing precision I bid 1
  3. 1♦, then rebid ♠ twice. Partner should be able to realize what is going on after you pull to 4♠ hopefully. What partner said about slam tries, probably so you wouldn't pull their 3NT bids, however this is a clear pull of 3NT and partner should understand that. Passing looks decent, but with such long ♦ it will be very tough to show 5=7 here. Take the auction: P - (1♥) - P - (4♥) ? You can only show 1 suit, and if you do decide to show 2 suits you may have to play 5♠. Compare that auction to this one: 1♦ - (1♥) - P - (4♥) 4♠ Now you've shown both suits with relatively accurate lengths, and who knows, partner might even make a negative double on the first round! Of course if the opponents' suit is clubs then it is much harder, but it won't be much easier anyway if you pass first.
  4. I open 1♣, then if I had opened 1♥, 4♣ now which should be minorwood... Otherwise 4NT. If partner shows no aces, 5♣. 1 ace, 6♣. 2 aces, 7♣.
  5. Quite awful. After a little thought I decided to pull, which was a very bad choice... but it got worse. I bid 4NT and partner bid 5♦ which RHO doubled, passed back to partner who thought that I should be punished for pulling... and bid 5NT! LOL Dummy was Q9xxx Jxx AKQ xx. -1400. $@&%. I'll be passing in the future.
  6. Make it stop. I already speak too much Martian.
  7. Yes, unless I have some reason to want revenge on partner for something earlier in the session :)
  8. K♥, I wouldn't be suprised to see this be a very good lead, in addition to the fact that is doesn't lose very often.
  9. Precision Today seems to be an excellent starting point for people looking to learn precision imo.
  10. 2♥, that's the worst 10 points I've seen in a while
  11. 4 card raise then invite over partner's signoff seems pretty good.
  12. 5♦. Although I like the idea of either 3♥ to involve partner a bit, or 3♠ to deflect a ♠ lead, I guess I'd probably just blast it at the table.
  13. 3♣ as the 9-11 with clubs works quite nicely, otherwise I live with 1 or 2NT on those hand types... or even 1M :) I play my 1♦-2♣ as GF, and it seems to work well enough.
  14. Partner probably doesn't have much in the ways of a club control, and we may be off the K♦. I'll pass.
  15. Between Josh, Han, Frances, Arend, Gonzalo and many others not posting any more, it seems that the forum has lost some of it's momentum. I loved reading some of the discussions or arguements between two excellent posters. I even miss Nuno not posting as much (:)). While it's true there are still plenty of good posters on the forum, there does seem to be a lower quality of content, and it's just not the same without them. I also have not been posting as much lately, I've been all over the place playing bridge. Sadly I cannot remember as many hands as I want to, but I will try to post some things in the next few days as I remember them if possible. I joined shortly before "han" retired, but his and Josh's posts, while sometimes harsh, were always direct and to the point. They were responses I could trust, and while some of the newer members may be excellent players, we may just need to wait a little while to be able to identify who they are.
  16. 4♠ should be pretty easy here. Since this is posted, LHO probably has 6♠.
  17. Heh, I still suck and so does pclayton. We continue to work on our game on a daily basis. You two should play bridge together sometime with each other... You'd make a good partnership :)
