I voted pass. I can see more reason for 4♠ than 3NT.

The book you refer to does omit a few things: it omits the 1C-1D response as including the 4441 8+ impossible negatives, has no systemic opening bid for a 4414 hand shape, and has the inferior 5+ clubs 2C opening. It also suggests 8+ responses to the 1D/1H/1S openings (it has been conclusively shown that the higher baseline for responding is losing bridge, and 6+ is better). Other than these few points, it's a reasonable introduction. Agreed. However, I don't really like the book, and I don't really know Precision. I would think it is of more use as a first book for beginners before they start on one of the more classical texts on Precision. Don't really like the point count sections as well.

LOL, but seriously I've seen overlaps happen often enough and I have never ever heard of other TDs bitching like this. And he just can't seem to understand that mine doesn't overlap with his.

So well, I was bored, and I thought of hosting a short 4 board tourney. I looked and saw no other pairs tournament within the next hour or so and there were only moneybridge tournaments starting soon. 10 minutes of registration + 4 boards * 8 minutes = 42 minutes so this should be fine right? I was also wondering why Schweinsteiger got only a 1 match ban.

I saw it as a very ugly provocation by Podolski. He ran ten meters and pressed his head on Silva's. Why did he do it? He and Ballack tried such a dirty tricks at the World Cup too. Helpless in his own play, trying to turn the match on this way. I am glad the referee oversaw it or did not want to punish it. Robert Should have just sent the two of them off. Aragones was right to haul silva right off after that. As for Ballack, I've lost all respect for him since he started his antics after he joined Chelsea.

Yes, this sort of thing is what I was alluding to when I asked if other nations have similar problems... Or, of course, maybe it isn't really a problem overall?! Now that I think about it again, one person selecting the team to represent the nation isn't something I haven't seen before.

I don't think she has a choice now. First time since 1993 that Italy hasn't been on the podium.
