  1. Not strong enough to bid 2S as a limit raise - 10 not very nice points and really disgusting shape. 2♥ it is.
  2. Wouldn't open this 4S red vs green, would open 3S. White vs red 1st/3rd seat is probably fine, maybe 2nd depending on the state of affairs. Incidentally one of my partner opened 4H with AT987xx in hearts and nothing else outside white vs red 1st seat before.
  3. I don't quite get this, it would seem more intuitively correct to spend less energy sorting as compared to the amount of brain power needed to visualize. My habit is that I memorise the key features of my hand (like hcp, distribution, impt spot cards etc.) so that I don't really look at my hand during bidding. Would you call this visualisation?
  4. Not too sure how you would classify mine.... I usually sort by suits first, then maybe bid with a few cards not in rank order, but the order freak in me eventually ends up getting the cards sorted in rank order. Thing is, I don't sort it SHCD, I just make it such that it's alternating black and red suits and I leave it that way.
  5. Yup, I remember 3 being used as the approximation in the bible. That said, what I previously typed was from a faculty cheer from school last time....mine was doing 2 maths subjects (out of 4 A levels) and so our cheer had that....Rest of it has faded from my memory already though.
  6. If it's for beginners, why make it so complicated? 4321 may not be perfect, but it's a good enough approximation. More important to teach them the hidden potential of touching honours imho.
  7. The board 21 one cracked me up when I saw it. But nonetheless, wd to Justin :)
  8. Times are correct. Well yeah, there are many of us juniors, so you can always try to find us around. (I'm usually online quite often nowadays so you can probably try to msg me, though I might not be paying attention to the window)
  9. Probably the most important question I would ask. I have had way too many partners drop out from lack of interest. A few others: What are your view on competitive bidding? Are you aggressive or passive in competing? Where do you want to go for lunch/dinner before/after sessions?
  10. How grand it would be then
  11. And how much sleep did you get in those few nights? Or none at all?
  12. When you've been in the army and you've had to clean up toilets used by many people (think 200+ using the same toilet) and some of them have no regard for cleanliness at all...... I'm rather sensitive (have allergic rhinitis) so it's a toss-up between which job would make me sick faster.
  13. Might that poll be mine?
  14. I probably got the same problem as jack did. Was trying to look at transferring or not with 5332 hands, and ended up trying to run 2 searches on 2 different computers - desktop searching 1NT AP hands and laptop searching 1NT-2D/2H hands. After 1 hour, I gave up and went to bed. Was out since morning so I didn't get to try again.... I only finished the 1st video, so maybe I will look at the others and try to figure out...I quite like the idea of getting so much statistical data to look at. Preliminarily, it seems to be that not transferring is the better option. But of course, my search could very well easily have been biased...
  15. Anyone has any idea what's good after (say) 1H-1NT-2C? If responder has 8-9 HCP, opener might have a min hand and passing might be best. But if opener has a 16-17 HCP hand, game might be missed. Anyway around this?
  16. So, to what extent is a coach useful?
  17. As Above. Just wondering how experts really train in various countries.
  18. Someone could be the next YoYoMa! Or you could play with Singaporeans. We look like we are speaking English, but you will realise that you don't understand after a few sentences. =)
