  1. I guess she had the T somewhere. LHO is a good psychological player.
  2. Since 3♠ is game forcing, the pass is forcing.
  3. I should think it does. There are cinnamon trees in the park near my home....
  4. And now for the HK Inter-city bridge we finally have no commentators....So even if I wanted to point out that Patrick Choy is (or maybe was, I'm not very sure if he still is) an active member in the WBF and Esther Khunying is the PABF President, I have no commentator to tell :) Matmat seems to be enjoying the silence though, last I spoke to him. Edit: There seems to be a commentator in my room, but I can't seem to msg him privately.
  5. I readily admit that I've ignored the Wagnar completely. I was curious whether or not the winners of the Wagnar had a client playing for them. (My decision to select Gromov to win the Spingold was largely based on the fact that this was a strong team that wasn't bogged down by a sponsor) The fact that they were only 4-handed didn't affect your decision? :P
  6. Thanks guys, I now have a better idea of what to check with teammates regarding 3/5 leads!
  7. 1. WJ/Precision 2C doesn't have the set of strong hands, therefore responder can safely pass. 2. So now after your club rebid what does responder know, you are 12-20 with clubs? Try showing 17-20 with clubs after a jump overcall by one of the opponents. 3. The forcing 2NT opener will be a disaster pretty much whenever opener has a strong 2NT and the field is passing a strong 2NT.
  8. X means he doesn't want you to bid on, and you have no good reason to, so just pass.
  9. Yes, I think that is the correct ruling.
  10. What would 1♣-2♦ be? Probably you can try to fit something for this sequence and 1♣-3♦. Fit-showing sounds like a good idea, but well, likely that opps won't sit still if that's the case.
  11. That would be a good idea, alternative now is to ask in lobby...but I usually turn lobby chat off since there's so much spam.
  12. [hv=d=e&v=e&n=sq9864haj8dkqj85c&e=sa753hq432d973ca6]266|200|Scoring: MP bidding went: P P P and now North opens 1♠. Thereafter: 1♠-2♥ 3♦-3NT 4♥ AP Partner now leads 3♣, ruffed in dummy and now a low ♠ is played. Do you cover?[/hv] Do you play the A♠?
  13. FWIW, ArtK78, if it was a tourney I was directing, I might even be inclined to take a 2nd look and maybe adjust. (I say maybe because I have no idea what the full circumstances of this are.)
  14. Oh yes, my other question that I wanted to ask: Why 2/4 at NT and not 3/5? (Pinochio actually gave me an answer to that, but I was not satisfied.) And now a question from some of the responses (might be stupid): What are attitude leads? =X
  15. Your comment reminds me of some cheating allegation a certain country's NPC made while playing against 2 junior players from another country. And like what the others said, there are just too many reasons for hesitations while playing online.
  16. In a TM I was kibitzing, both sides bid and made 6N, albeit through rather different ways. And yes, a club lead came up at one of the tables. ♣9 to be exact.
  17. Playing in as 2 places to play sounds like a good suggestion...
  18. To cut the long story short, I'm playing in a local tournament next month and all my other teammates play 3/5 leads whereas I only know 2/4. Learning is not a problem, in fact I'm happy to learn more. However, what I am interested to ask is, what are the main advantages/disadvantages of the 2 leading styles?
  19. [hv=d=n&v=n&n=s2hakj9743dk862ct&s=sakt964h6daq4caq2]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Where do you want to be in and how do you propose to reach it?
