  1. What would partner bid over 6♥? I think that's my bid, if he has AKQ in hearts he'd bid 7, if not he'd bid only 6.
  2. If you were South you'd rather kill North instead of leaving the game. I've heard bridge is played in prisons so killing North doesn't mean you'll stop playing bridge... Where did you play this game? You didn't make any mistakes, don't quit the game, quit that partner.
  3. I don't agree with partner's 3♥. Maybe 3♣, but inviting on this hand when we have a third of our values wasted is not a good idea. 4♥ is the bid over 4♣, but I bet hearts were 4-1, weren't they?
  4. This is the nicest way to start a post. Attacking whoever will answer. 2♦ does look fine, planning to introduce hearts next.
  5. Problem with 5♥ is that partner might pass with ♥K and ♠A and ♦K (doesn't 5♥ ask for 2 honors in the trumps suit?). 5♣ or 4♠ are another possibility. Unless partner can pass 4♠...
  6. Pass. What was partner's double?
  7. 3♠ is sort of a gambling bid. Sign me up.
  8. Can I use the demo version for my purposes? Can I use it 'forever'? Does it look better, bigger than Baron?
  9. I was thinking BBO but I need to learn to use a 'teaching' table better. Also it looks better on the browser-based version, but, where in the PC is the folder to save the .lin files I need to use? In the normal downloadable program I know, but in the other... HandViewer looks excellent but, what if I want to show a different line? What if I want to show the progress of the bidding? Can it be done? bridgify looks really small but I might give it another look, thanks. What about Baron, Jack5, or those playing programs? Could they be used?
  10. I want to present some hands on a TV or projector (using a laptop of course). What program can I use to do this? Which one is more user friendly and/or allows me to show really big cards, follow an auction or play and change that auction or play? Thanks for your help.
  11. Playing SAYC, it goes Pass on your right and being Vul vs NV you hold: ♠KT9642 ♥97 ♦7 ♣A632 Do you open with a weak-2 in spades or pass?
  12. Playing SAYC, NV vs Vul opponents, you hold: ♠Ax ♥Ax ♦AQJTxx ♣KQT What's your poison?
  13. So, you'd recommend 4♣ or Pass over 3♥?
  14. You hold: ♠Qxx ♥--- ♦JTx ♣KQJTxxx With None Vulnerable, partner deals and it goes: 1♦ 3♥ X 4♥ 5♦ Pa ???

    WTP?

I would raise, though I wouldn't be surprised if we lose two tricks.
  16. I usually go to a special IMAX cinema when I want some 3D played...
  17. I fixed your post. I pass and will bid 4♥ in a later round when it sounds really natural.
  18. Had partner led the ♦8 (the suit we bid first), the defense would have been much easier.
  19. Yeah, obvious way to play the hearts makes the suit a two-tricks-loser only. ...But I hadn't noticed till it was pointed out.
  20. I was also impressed by this post. It is really good advice for advancing players and all who want to become just better.
  21. N/S can make 3NT and maybe 4♠ but E/W are so going down in whatever they play, so either something doubled by E/W or 3NT by N/S.
  22. ♦6 ♦KQT87 In isolation, what's the best way to play it? In this context: [hv=n=sa9xxhjxxxd6catxx&s=skxhaxxdkqt87cqj9]133|200|Scoring: XIMP[/hv] I was playing 3NT and received the ♣8 lead which I let run but RHO took with the ♣K. A small diamond came back. My mistake was that I hadn't planned what to do, but I don't really know what I would have done otherwise ('cause now I'm biased...). What's the right way to tackle this hand?
  23. Interesting idea but very problematic implementation.
