  1. I am worried that I have a little too much for a splinter here. give partner Qxx A Kx AQxxxxx, or AQx x Kx AQxxxxx for instance If I could find out about 1 thing, it would be whether we have hearts controlled. The problem is that I dont think I can create an auction where 4♥ by pard is clearly a cuebid and not some sort of offer to play. I would probably just bid RKC at the table.
  2. I think this is backwards from the best general strategy
  3. Same as me. Does any thought change your mind? I could buy a low heart. Maybe this needs less to be right and also less likely to blow a trick. Give partner 5 of em and each opp 2....maybe this is more likely than finding pard with the ♠10 and the opps needing to lose to both of your kings.
  4. I pass and hope a round-suit king is offside. 5♠ seems fine.
  5. I would say South, but my IMP style is to GF and invite very aggressively and to accept conservatively. I might say North at MPs. edit: on second thought I blame South regardless
  6. I'm sure i would lead a low spade at the table w/o much thought.

If it is othewise a pure guess between these two shapes, might North have bid 3♠ rather than 3♣ if he had 7 of them?
  8. ♠ x ♥ J107xx ♦ AKxx ♣ KJx white IMPs 1♥-1N 2♦-3♥ ???
  9. 4NT. I should always make on a non-club lead. If pard has something like Kxx xxxx xx Kxxx we can play a slam.
  10. If you don't ruff a club, you can't endplay RHO when he started with ♥Qxx and ♦Axx or longer unless he started with a doubleton club. Your ♦K is ducked. Presumably you draw one trump and lead the ♦Q, which is also ducked to deprive you of a dummy entry. Now you cash the last trump and exit a diamond. RHO wins and plays a club.
  11. If trumps are not 2-2 then you will have to endplay RHO (who must hold the ♠K) to make. I would ruff a club with the ♥10, draw one round of trumps, and lead the ♦K and ♦Q. Presumably the ♦A will win one of these and return a diamond (either opp) a spade (LHO) or a trump (RHO). I win, clear diamonds, and then put RHO in with his ♥Q to lead a spade or give a ruff/sluff if hearts didn't break 2-2. This line contains the following risks: If LHO started with 2-2 rounded suits and the ♥Q, I am down in a cold game. If RHO started with the ♠K, ♥Qxx, and ♦xx, I will fail when I could have succeeded by drawing 2 rounds of trumps. However, if I were to draw 2 rounds of trumps then I fail when RHO started with the ♦A and ♥Qxx. If LHO started with 3 clubs, ♥Qx, and no ♦A, I allow myself to be uppercut. This is very unlikely due to LHO's continuation of the ♣2.
  12. P[hv=d=w&v=b&n=saj76haxxxdkq532c&w=shqxdt876cajt9832&e=sq1054hj109xxdj9c76&s=sk9832hkxda4ckq54]399|300|Scoring: IMP 3♣ rates to make 7 tricks on most defenses. Spades makes 12 tricks.[/hv]
  13. all red, imps ♠K98xx ♥Kx ♦Ax ♣KQxx (3♣)-Dbl-(pass)-???

  15. My partner never leads my suit when I preempt, and he's pretty much always right.
  16. I suggest using 2NT for splinter raises if you want to include such a bid. 3c over this would ask. I have had nothing but good experiences with playing 1♥-1♠-3m as 6M-5m.
  17. West should have made a length lead, regardless of methods. This reminds me of an urban legend in my area...a certain expert player is said to have reached 3NT with 10x opposite a void, and made it even when the opps led that suit.
  18. 5♥ give pard 4 trumps and ♣Ax and this probably rolls
  19. MPs, fav, 3rd 10765 85 K AQ10764 2h-(p)-p-(X) p-(3n)-all pass lead?
  20. A more normal auction, using 2/1: 1♠-1NT 3♣-4NT 5♣-5♦ 6♣-pass 4NT: RKC 5♣: 0 or 3 5♦: ask for ♣Q 6♣: "no"
  21. 4♠ I don't think this is too strong for a 2nd seat white preempt.
