  1. Seems 2S here, but the interesting question is 'If this is single raise bottom, how are better raises partitioned if at all? Single raise: 1Q working(1 trick expected) + 3+support; what do X, 2NT, 3S, P describe? System considerations allow this weak to bid? What are/should they be?
  2. West Dbl = ?? minors without DAK, CA instead of 2NT(pure offense)?? Crazy! 3-suit takeout ?? when both our bids promise 5-suits? Crazy! Long C-suit + weird distribution? Now, how many defensive tricks to expect? Bad splits advertised, take set.
  3. Lucky East sees 3 hearts to know H run. What if E-W switch Hx for Cx? Can he see 'don't rectify'?
  4. 4NT= i am going to try this slam--just asking keys to see beforehand how foolish it is!
  5. Is this 1C on 0-7C, 0-6D, 0-4H, 0-5S, 12-22hcp? Then giddy-up this auction!
  6. 1. Can partner have SAKx with HKQxxx and not have doubled? I'm betting he has CAKx+ so I offer one+ C ruff DA and nada. Too rosy glassed for me. Double. 2. Double as least encouraging.
  7. Even if 1nt F1 handles ALL balanced hands to free up 2/1 for 5-suits, partners 2NT limited his hand. You are captain --make your best guess.
  8. 5D should show close to make with little concern for what support partner has. Partner having only mild concern for his S suit, and knowing 5D close is likely sure slam with his cards, now bids 5S. He must have SAK, seeing SQJx, I go 7S on sure controls solid 6-suit.
  9. In all auctions, F1 or GF, there must be 'I want out' responses that intend to remove GF, any other accepts GF. So even F1 is GF except after a few(one) rebid.
  10. Response scheme has to show 6-suit somehow. Potential for 3 length tricks cannot be missed. Here 9hcp =3 long tricks + 5hcp = near slam.
  11. Support ask D, then S, then control ask C; have exact answer.
  12. Yes, 1s+4h+2d+2c=9. But the 1s+2h+2-3d+ 3??c beware of c-finesse that, if winning, is unneeded: endplay no spade hand.
  13. Having not chosen the standout insurance 6S bid, back my decision that it is a max penalty hand.
  14. My 2D implies H, else why bid? So 2D, hoping for 2S asking S-stop and 3NT.
  15. 2NT. Hope partner likes C or has D helped by JTxx.
  16. Partner is there with the same borderline invite rejected information as I have. He'll consider why C7 appeared from me.
  17. Hard (not impossible) to imagine D lead blowing defense. But S/C must be just so.
  18. Whatever the agreement is, UDCA here, this is so obvious suit preference that I think partner's play asks Club.
  19. Internet search for bridge squeezes complete. A play the hand program of Clyde Love's book.
  20. 1. 2H ---want to GF cue, but spades will get in the way. Hope 2H finds raise since I have a ton in the tank still. 2. 6D: monster in support of long D, AND partner bid in front of me --he cannot need 2A for slam.
  21. With no opps bidding, hope 2C+2H+2S survive in a dummy reversal.
  22. 1C: must have a top (controls+losers) for 1M. This 5 loser 6 controls is too good. I want partner to know after 1M, his 3 controls is never a slam!
  23. Pass misses 6C opposite SAx HAxxxx Dxx CAKxx? Pass if PERFECT max is needed for game, not perfect middling for slam. 6-5 come alive. This scary offensive possible hand must bid.
  24. Wouldn't partner with HA+CA+DK add 3 tricks, great controls to my 8-9 playing tricks and slam? Yes. So he doesn't have them! Penalty big enough ( or only plus) is only question left.
