  1. Give up Stayman. Start all xfers at 2-level, with rexfer often after accept.
  2. Psyched on what? 5-7 solid clubs to set 3NT? So, Ill fall for it???
  3. 1. 2H 2. 3C, 2S increases likely C-fit. 3. Not extras, but well located auction plays 1 trick better.
  4. 3D to help partner's invite if D-stuff. With DKJxx in his invite, de sees 4H.
  5. Give up the way too rare 3-suits 2D for 5+D natural. just this hand. Partner may eventually see that his HKQ+CA(orDK) is slam stuff in the right place.
  6. 1NT more likely if we have game -3NT. 2C only wins on partials that make 3 or 4. Just what happens always when I choose. Partner suggests scattered honors, wanna try 3NT? Yes.
  7. When you bid 1H, you must have expected an overheating MAY occur. You were certainly prepared to escape to your 6cC. What has changed? --except a particularly virulent overheated auction. Having other strong bids, 3C must be at best 'partner, only proceed with C-fit'.
  8. After 1C, when does REAL club suit reveal? 1st rebid? 2nd?
  9. Too likely a D trick gets lost in defense (or a Club if DK CQ switched). Very likely an urgent tempo lost on chosen return after winning 1st spade. Don't risk opposing game swing, bid 4S. Maybe THEY have an urgent tempo play to prevent losers going on long D.
  10. Should opponents play talk me out of the C finesse? I think not.
  11. Having an attractive 6-card spade suit plus HA, I force. Maybe I regret it on a misfit hand, but this glass is half full with spades first!
  12. I knew by bidding 4H I would goad opponents into 4S, and partner would have S-values for his TOdbl. So I sit for 4Sx.
  13. Pass. Partner is reopening with 18+, passing with 15 or less. Both OK.
  14. Curious one, seems here that a serious 3NT should have a 6RKC implication: without my 3 of 6 in majors, signoff; with 3, cue minor control. Or similar. Don't serious 3NT without 3 tops in majors.
  15. Partner passes his 10-14 in direct seat, hand leaving to me to reopen my 9-11 passed hand. That's what I have! Now 3C preempt hoped to shut us out or dare us to get into trouble --are we shut out? Trouble in 3H? I bid 3D to warn partner not to bid 3H wothout BOTH majors ok= 4-3+. So I correct 3H to 3S and we've come in not TOO likely for a big set.
  16. Under a 1C force umbrella, weak openings like this abound. Open 1S get 2C; rebid 2S(7L) get one more push to 3S; quit with wrong Clubs.
  17. I don't care how many. I want a frequency of 'this beats that other with which hands'. ie. a logical presentation not an ad populum. If K-cues(single-cues) leave aces, trumps to keycard, why weren't trump tops already known? which cue excluded in key response? Which auctions won't have A then K shown before commit time (usu 4M)? Bal, 3-suiter may best en mass; but I must suggest 2-suiter(include my 5; your 5) wants AKQ/AKQ in 2-suits 1st. 1-suiter wants its AKQ 1st.
  18. Try DAPO(super MAF Chiel Vorheist's verses preempts). Here jump 3S= D+C+ 5+Controls. Partner now well placed.
  19. 4NT and grand slam force if 3A, even Malowon 6C.
  20. Perfect minimum partner Sxxxx HKx DAxxx CAQJ and 6D is ok. So game force for me.
  21. Does partner imagine your hand SKxx HKQJxxx DQxx Cx and see 4H making?
  22. 3-level xfers - guaratees a second chance which may be pass, but allows 2 messages low; X penalty seeking. Pass - waiting to see them in trouble.
  23. Can partner have S??? HAKx + (DKQxxx OR CKxxxx) and not have bid? Or reasonably close? Slam on opposite a reasonable minimum = must try. I gotta bid 5H, H-fit needed even if 5C is best.
  24. Closer to 3NT than 4H. Limit BAL 3-support raise in your fit scheme? If 9 tricks are the limit I want to try for a game bonus.
  25. I would have raised to 3S over 2S: 4-support with single= likely 2 tricks added to his near 8 auction.
