  1. 2N with S-stop. Prefer minor without. Keep rest for strong somehow.
  2. C2 switch. Even an on-lead game double suggests dummy's first bid suit.
  3. Long clubs with D-fit. But much stronger slammy than this -- 4-fit + 1xA? This hand just bids 5D. Keep partner trusting other bids are slammy.
  4. Not going 7. Always Qxx under the honor I play 1st.
  5. 9 trick game verses 10 trick game sways me to 3NT. I see no missing stop. Likely getting a spade lead (other major). Liking that.
  6. Too bad opponents are short a trick in 3NT and they see it. Their 'pick-a-minor' escape works. Was 3H 'do you have 4xH also?'? Essentially P/C. Or 'I want to play 3H, do you not misfit?'
  7. 2S. But I have methods to catch-up my strength when/if I get to rebid. .. I guess if I thought I couldn't get cooperation on my max-hcp 5xS suit, I'D try 2NT: on 18 with Qx questionable working.

    Play 6H

Didn't the discards on S:K+Q cement your decision? I cash CA. Then S:KQ drop C:xx. Run CQ. Am I lucky?
  9. When does West admit any values? 3C could be nada. 5C>4H could not want to defend 4H. Eg. shapely C:KJxxxx
  10. Defaults to T/O for me as undiscussed exception for low-level doubles. I think that's not optimum. Gotta talk this one out.
  11. Did the weak 2H have D:K? Or opening lead H, then another heart -- not seeing the ruff-sluff? D:AK now WANT to get to 6S. My immediate Q (=3H) promises monster or good controls oM. Try DAPO (Chiel Vorheiss sp?) where 3D>2H = 15+/- S+C (2-suiter not bid suit)
  12. Not starting with 2C over 1H makes this mess unsortable. Reduced to 'by guess, by golly', unless BIT clarifies: slow C-bid only 4-suit; quick C-bid good 5+clubs. I hate to say too many players do just that way. Note: I did not say BRIDGE players.
  13. The neg free bid of 2C doesn't have any downside here. I really want to suggest clubs to partner. I have 6-suit, so the shy of GF-points may balance out. My partnership has a general force in addition to negX. Little sorting out. Partner now can make a well-informed decision. 1D <1H> 2C -> now I'm ok with most developments.
  14. D:AK to see D:Q fall. Now C:A discard D:x shows, D-ruff if that might work. Or H:10 C:A if S-D squeeze.
  15. FARTP Which are we going to try? Force? Attack? Ruff? Trump? Passive? I'm Passive (maybe C-Ruff). C9.
  16. We need to get some S-inhibitor AND H-inhibitor bid in!!!!
  17. I'd Gerber if I have that. Not very serious unless 4xA. Do I have a low-level exclusion? Exploring force?
  18. If 4xS overcall is followed by X, I guess to punt 3NT even with 2-5-6-0. When bal 14 starts 1S not X, not 1NT with dbl C-stop, I too can do as I please, yes?
  19. I do sympathize. Pass a 2H partial, when 5C on. What methods are used? What is 3C>2H? A rescue? suit? Fit? Why is 2H overcall? Instead of X? Denies a 2nd place to play? Hopes to show 2nd? Imagine if you will 1S <P> 1N <X> . .2S <3C> p 3S(general F1) p 5C. Is that from the Twilight Zone?
  20. Yea, I try 4S. Hope-1: after they double I know to stand or run to 5C. Hope-2: they decided not slammy, they won't change their mind correctly. Hope-3: next time in this situation, with near slam spades, partner trusts my bid and goes 6S. Maybe I should try X. Hope-1x: partner knows his A+A+H-trick ain't enough. You imagine the rest. I, too love to bid, often with light values, not this time.
  21. Is this a 2-seat 1S psych? There's 23 points at least to come out. Hope partner has few and H-fit.
  22. 1. 2D: Maxpass. No likey clubs as I bypassed them. I think reopening X should promise not S-misfit, so I'm marked with H-ok. 2. Pard made no raise, no negX. I quit. 1C "could be short" may be the reason for no raise -- system loss. 3. Pass. Heart lead is so likely best. We got that. 4. 5H. 6-5 offensive hand. Hate feels like both 5D and 5H fail.
  23. I want to know if I need to force entry to dummy with H98 v HQ. Out a diamond. See what we see.
  24. As Mikeh suggests, for a 4-suit lead to be effective the top and second best spot need be big. Must put big card forcing big cards on second round/third.
