He told me in table talk that 2♣was 3 card drury and 2♦4 card drury so, with his hand i would have answered drury my question was really, if one plays drury, what is the meaning of 1♥-2♥ different when the auctions starts in fst or 2nd seat. there was no agreemment on 1♥-2♥being a constructive raise, but now that i think about it, i believe the flag was canadian and they play constructive raises often.

I play One sided drury: I never open really silly hands in 3rd. They will have 2 tricks and, if low in points, a very long major. But people like to play drury, and yesterday i discovered I did not know what to do to handle a response of 2 h. Had it been me responding, give the 2 aces, extra trump and ruffing value i would have answered 2 diamonds drury( a limit raise). I had a reasonable hand, so perhaps I should have bid 3h, as it was i passed, only bad result in the game and we tanked 3rd, we would have beeen in the running for a win, but this is the hand, how should the bidding go? hi diana yes i was accessing the interesting tables, i never use the take me to the first seat thing. i also would not know how to find this total pount club place, i am not a member, so would never look for it. i keep wondering about these features, especially for new members, i think when bbo was smaller you could find a nuche somewhere and in fact sometimes people have keep screen names as friends for years. i met a nice lady the other day, who told me she used to be a memeber at some australian or new zealand pay site, i plaued with her a few times, byt i have not seen her long on for a while, i keep thinking that if you get to place where, no one says hi, welcome, or even bye, people do not return. after being kicked out of a table, or of free toirney where tds victimize people is jyst a hassle, i just give op playing for at least several hours becatse i feel wronged.

So i have been using the interesting table listing to find a seat. Having complained before about the time it takes to find a seat using the wen version, this actually works better. So I look at the list and selected a seat. Standard procedure. I was greeted by RHO: -- Table jumper, boot him -- Go away, this is our tournament..... I did not know they were referring to me, but then I get a private message from another player: -- Leave my seat please (At least this one could say please) I finally was booted, I asked the guy who said please, why doesnt the host reserve the seat or set the table with permission? -- He cannot, this is our club rule, he cannot change table settings. I did note I had arrived at a table called the total points club, I wonder if they could be excluded from the interesting table list because they are acting like lunatics(opening unrestricted tables by rule and then barking at players), and furthermore, somebody like me might even suffer in their completion percentage. thanks

i would pass all hands, for me that is the point of the forcing no trump, or the lack of it. i have tolerance in the major i leave the forcing no trump for misfits(like zero hcp an void in partners) or 3 card limit raises

3 clubs, good lead direction if in fact partner has 5 spades and some values hr will speak if he does not have 5 spades, you will get a nasty trump split, 4-1 count your blessings one by one

i miss the sense of community from my early days at bbo, particularly the wprefugee club i rate myself advanced for defensive reasons, and as someone once pointed out, you have a wider range of choice of partners when folks are rated advanced, so that rating is somewhat the neutral rating. but i did have more friends then, to this day i get invitations for team matches from folks circa 2006. As for tourneys, the free ones used to be mostly imps games, but that has radically changed. Play free tourney with partnership desk people is hit and miss, but sometimes you get to mark one or two and play with them again. as for regular partnership, o just about gave up and now am considering actually buying an sayc book and learning it-- the way people play 2/1 is frightening and the ks it is hard to find partners.

Well my intent when post was this, I am, in fact a kaplanite, and prefer to play a forcing no trump reponse to show in fact 0+ hcp when holding a misfit for partner. When your hand is in fact that weak, no contract is likely to make anyway so you better try to improve the fit, he says. This is in fact outlined in the 1962 edition of Winning Bridge. Although I have noticed that more recent books have this 5+ hcp thing. I play mostly matchpoints, so the 2 trumps are great for my pass.

I do not hobnob with live experts, but I consult dead ones, and Max Hardy says: to introduce a new suit at the 2 level requires 5+ cards and 5-9 hcp. (page 78, std bridge bidding for the 21st century)

After all was said and done, I should not have rebid 2d tho the requirement is only 5 cards in the suit, that actually shows 5+ hcp which i did not have.

folks i had been connecting to a game server for nearly a year, now using 2 computers and 2 different connections, i cannot connect at all, i am not behind a firewall, only the windows one my web seems to go other places, but when i get to this particular website, i get dns errors message, or sometimes i get there i saw some instructions to run a ping under the dos prompt, how in the world do i get to the dos prompt?
