That is so true, not every add-on is helpful. I have often looked at materials such as khan's, sometimes videos on utube and so on. I find them really tedious, some blackboard and a ghost talking about them quadratic equations, i cant ask questions, if i were a student, i would consider that punishment. It is rare to see some school curriculum or program that actually tells students: hey kid, you are free to think and figure things out for yourself. Go to wikipeadia and bring questions to me instead of goging to mr. khan. But some teachers think it is too hard to be exposed to random questions. I was bemused when ken said he received class notes from a previous teacher who taught a class. I once received not only a set of notes, the previous teacher had composed a manual from several textbooks, surely violating some copyright stuff, which he copied and sold to students. He presented me with 30 copies of the manuals, for me to sell to the students and then send him the money, and also instructed me not produce more manuals and sell once those were finished unless i could send him the money. I refused to do it and was called upon to do it because "I must do it for the good of the students". In other words, i the teacher cannot think for myself either.

This is an unfortunate side effect of the web version We can no longer chat to club, so i stopped playing at the private clubs, i used to enjoy the wp refugee. Now i discovered you can no longer loiter at the tournament area, so you cant chat before the game begins. i also find it sad that now. when we join a tournament, we are fisrt propmted in case "you already have a partner" and the partnership desk is actually hidden. there is no lobby anymore, where in the world am i supposed to find a partner? it's actually been a long time since i added a friend at bbo, i just play randomly, mark a few of the better ones and people just disappear after a few weeks.

That way they can change their log picture if they want to change system. Some clubs do have the icons added to the stock photos. Can someone submit a few?

last year i introduced bridge to 8-year old twin urchins. they were not too interested in kibbing or learning, but i played with them. within a week, the more enthusiastic of them aspired to play with a star player, the other one promptly rated himself world class. while i played with them they kept asking what were people saying because they do not speak english. their mother warned me that they would log on and pester me to play with them, i did not mind but, a couple of weeks later they stopped logging on. the mother ruled that their online time was excessive and that they ought to choose different ways to spend time in the mornings (they go to school in the afternoons till 6.30 pm) One chose soccer lessons, 3 times a week The other one chose english classes, saying he will return to playing bridge when he learns english, i think he will be a bridge player, i hear he even brags to people that he plays bridge.

you mean you want as bridge robot that evaluates the hand according to a different point count? maybe if you can find some open source software and change it?

i play ks, the original one and a modified form. i rarely open a 5 card major with 1nt, unless the major is a real stinking suit, just like edgar said. in my opinion, the forcing nt is really good when responder is void or null in the major, i think that is why this was invented, either by kaplan sheinwold or by roth-stone. when you do hold 2 of openers trump you give the lowest response in the major. what ticks me off is that some responder answer a forcing nt, and upin hearing a 2 level response, and holding 2 of openers trumps they bid 2nt (arhh-- but then again i dont have to play the abomination ha!!!) tho sometimes i wonder, whether the weak nt/force nt thing is really a better thing got matchpoints rather than imps.

the bidding theory of the 1962 book is fantastic,and bidding judgement is very good kaplan's book on the contested auction is well ahead of its time. i became a fan years ago the ks reverses and the bidding of fragments will teach you a lot. i actully played the system exactly as the bridge world sute briefly, but then partner went away one day, maybe i will find another one.

i never knew about the book started to watch in the hbo on demand i gave to watch each episode 3 times, i am hard of hearingnon native speaker and they dont have captions the story is very good, but then i gave not read any harry potter or lord of the rings i got the first nook now, reading is slow, too many dictionary consultation, have to read evrything twice
