yes it's possibility to reach 7♥

3N is NEVER lebensohl! 3N is to play whenever that is even remotely possible. On the given hand, East cannot bid over 3♠ since West may be minimum: 4♣ would be too much and East has no reason then to expect 3N to have any play. Thus pass is clear. West has an easy reopening double, and now East must 'sh*t or get off the pot', to use an old expression. 4♣ is a woeful underbid. 3N is slightly better than 5♣ in that it might not end the auction when 3N is hopeless whereas 5♣ puts all of one's eggs into that particular basket. I am probably kidding myself: it is almost impossible for West to pull 3N :) . That would be my bid nevertheless. we often met a fatal-3nt ,leading by a 5cards-suit ,and a reliable entry.when it's happend, plus 100 is very very good result ,instead of minus 50. Now ,it's happen. OFCZ, the doubled contract can be made up, occasionally.

sorry, i'm confused that means you can shut up in this forum? someone hope and need this forum, we are talking with him. OFCZ, i think my(many of us) skill is very good, look like a WC player, indeed maybe it's very rude to you,but it's mild with our self-culture.hope you can understand.

Feel free to disagree. :D My point is that responder is strong enough to see if opener wants to try for slam - not that responder himself is strong enough to try for slam. A subtle difference, but important. Regards, Winston OK your meanning focus on north hand, and mine is south. which committee focus on? nice to met you here
-
oh is Ew in VUL? 3NT is natural now
-
MR(lady?) winstonm: i agree you that south can signoff if she wish or would, but after the north's hesitation ,this is unusual, unless the most top players assent it, unless she isn't a serious player. the major reason suggest by you is :south's hand is not sufficient to bid slam, and not sufficient to seek slam too. I agree the anterior somtimes, but i disagree the posterior all the time.farther, the most of experts VOTE --try ,seek. regards 000002

WHY? why you can not understand? are you a younger bridge student? OK here is the nonsense I had made a reply that opposite x AJxx xxxx Axxx you can make 12 tricks with a crossruff. But if opps lead a trump you need at least the ♦Q with partner. I think slam is likely once partner makes a slamtry (he shouldn't do that with a balanced 9 count). But I understand the signoff, because if 6♥ makes the opps will call the director and then appeal. It has become a no win situation. I am assurance that you are a bridge student.

3NT is Lebenshol in this case (how to spell?)

WHY? why you can not understand? are you a younger bridge student?

No way to show 2 suits under 4♥, even 3nt. this is the reason to pass .
-
how many serious 3nt shows? what a range? this is no help to N-S,because serious 3NT means over that ,not under it. South try slam, and north can stop on 4♥ for his minimum. did you disagree? I think i forgot an important analyse to edit:4♥ back by south hint--- we lack ♠ control.
-
This is a poor slam unless north hold something like xxxx Axxx Q Axxx or ♠J+2Aces,but it's very possible after serious 3NT. Maybe you can got slam ,MAYBE YOU NOT, but this is not the key for my door. what is that key?Hesitation be used or not. Did south bid normally after hesitation? NO. unless she isn't an expert. Because 90% experts recommend a slam try ,not 4♥. "(2) It would be assumed that the signoff after a serious slam try was due to the hesitation, unless such a signoff was 100% clear." i agree. IF this can be ambiguity, more cabal appeared on the table.

no perfection here,non A-OK here 1) 3♦ underbid and can not to play a 5-3fit 4♥ 2) 3♥ overbid if it's forcing and underbid if non-forcing,AND forget their super-fit on ♦ 3) 4♣ intense game seeking with gross 14pts. this time overbid 4) 5♦ gamble 4♦ is the best: 1)hint ♣ singleton/void(0/1), 2)gross 11pts; 3)remain 5-4 fit 4♥ 4)based on 3♣ preemptive,partner has 0-1 honor on♣ is the most possibility
-
even though north hold a poor hand like this: KQxx AKx Kxx Axx 19hcps only,6♠ has 1/4 chance to make. A wariness seeking under 5♠ if N-S have method.
-
Justicer should be equity, and a gentleman, real gentleman should be too. OFCZ, i'm not now ,but i think i can say what i think. She is underbid after partner's hesitation, why? why she did NOT bid normally? the reason is possible with these: she is not an expert player, but the another possibility is that she read this illegal information and use it.
-
oh NO The fact is clear, the hesitation cause 4♥ rebid, and it's underbid with her hand. 90% of experts agree a 4♦ /4nt/6♥ rebid, the few recommends 4♥.
-
The hand 2aces+4cards ♥ is NOT enough to bid a serious 3nt, serious means that i have 2pionts extra over the prior promise. It's a leap to 6♥ surely if she is a expert player,OFCZ,now i think she is advanced only, and maybe novice because of 4♥ rebid. The committee is poor ,very poor, just like my english pronunciation.
-
West is damaged: 8cards ♥ with 8-5-0-0;♣ void can't to show. East isn't damaged, and he lose chance to seek slam. North is inculpable: he can predict opps have 9cards ♥ and maybe un-fit ♠. he can re-bid since his extra 6-5 strong (of course 5♣ is worse than 4nt), 5♣ maybe risk.he never interpret south is deception unless he is beginner or novice.
-
oh no east can bid 4[d] and south is deception(99%) so cancel this hand, east/west gain 3imp
-
yes i am an expert player:) 6♥directly,6NT maybe but can ignore it now.
-
yes but no way to frustrate declarer's 4NT
-
a hand lied on lucky. 1♥ can evite a disaster 3♣ and reserve a game
-
after rho passed, i suggest 3♥ cue-bid, then back 4♦ except for 3nt by partner.

both LHO opp open 2♠ ,then pd 2nt overcall, RHO 4♠ , now my 4NT can be nature? thanks 000002
