I've found that I have have similar problems with even relatively small exclude/enemy lists. Sadly, having more than a couple-of-hundred excluded players seems to fail. I have had to develop a system which allows me to generate an exclude list of just 50-100 or so repeat offenders and this seems to work quite well.

LMAO@glen I can't see good reason for an adjustment here, though I despise the supposed alerting, and would reprimand both East and West for shoddiness, add a note about it against the players, and suggest to the star that he is entitled to seek clarification about bids which are inadequately explained - as he/she should well know.

odd. you make a penalty pass, get the X from your partner, then want to bid? Well, yeah, I do. Partner seems to have a near-opener, we are close to game values, and I'm not sure the blood will run as freely as I'd like. I'm sorely tempted to punt 3N, or cue ♠s. I'm with Al - I'd have bid 1NT first time. I lead ♥K, if it comes to that.

I thought it was about the ursine variety au naturel and the difficulties they are now facing with deforestation, not the now-renamed Brisbane Aussie Rules Team who were GREAT for the first five years of this century but suck now.

3N!-Dbl-ReDbl-Pass; ? The only reference I've been able to find online to this auction seems to indicate that it is 'to play' 3NXX. I suppose it would tend to indicate GOOD stops in 3 suits (I play no outside controls in 3N opener), while Pass would be not-so-good stops and 4♣ pass-or-correct. Is this a reasonable method?

I can't justify WHY, exactly, or what my plan was, but I would have played a ♦. how I proceed from there would likely be equally vague, it just feels like the right thing.

I think the extra buttons may be accessible only by users with Tournament Host rights. my other nicks don't have them.

Thanks for the responses. I agree 3♣ isn't great... This was a MBC hand and 5 out of 12 times when the hand was opened 1♥, 3♣ was the bid. 5♣ was bid 3 times, 2 times 4♣, once 2♣ and once Double. At my table, the auction proceeded thus: 1♥-3♣-4♥-Pass; 4NT-Pass-5♦-Pass; 6♥-? Now what?

I'd like to note that Don's nick, "Double !", appears twice in the list Kathryn has posted above - once alphabetically and again at the end. Dunno if this would cause problems should anyone try to use it as is.

I think it's the "!"; Uday says that (some) spaces are OK: http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=15920# I don't recall having any issues with include lists and spaces, but have heard of problems with "!"s before, though in reference to exclude lists rather than includes.

Seconds after doubling I realised that 2♥ followed by 4♦ was perhaps a better way to bid this (is the 4♠ bid ambiguous?). Do you agree? What differences might these two auctions indicate? I have played at least 8,269 hands on BBO in the last 2 years (11/day-ish), mostly in tournaments. I wouldn't consider myself to be a VERY heavy user. 35,000 is a lot but I'd probably have twice as many played if I were free to play as much as I might please. I've also directed over 4,000 boards. And awarded more than 14,000 DodgyPoints hehe, blacklisting 2,809 IDs. I average -0.18 and 48.05%. I suck.

A couple of times lately I have noticed the BBO software seemingly apply A+- results for unfinished boards. I though it was always A--. Has something changed here?

Currently, if you are sitting or kibitzing a table and click on the 'tournaments' button, you can see a list of tourneys and by clicking on one get a menu allowing you to register or join the partnership desk without leaving the table you are at. Could the Tourney Managament dialog be added to this menu for TDs? If I have a tourney listed and am, say, delayed by a tournament I am playing in taking longer than expected, there's no way for me to defer/modify/cancel mine.

I have registered. I can direct/co-direct if desired almost any time...Arbelour10's schedule is OK by me - which if this is to be conducted during the last weekend of the year would be NYE here downunder, I think.
