  1. I will pass 2N dbl. The danger is RHO might be abe to cash clubs.
  2. never say never. what do you suggest opener to bid with ♠AJxxx, ♥KQxx, ♦Qxx, ♣J?
  3. I am not against 2S (reverse and forcing). But I do NOT agree with "partner is under no obligation to bid 2S with 5-7 and 4 Ss". As long as partner responded my opening, he DOES have obligation to raise to 2S with 4 support. To lease 1S stand can ONLY result in: opps get in and find their fit, or/and missing a cold game when opener is on the borderline of reverse.
  4. I don't agree with 3C bid, which would tell 4-0-5-4 hand, or at least deny HQ (honor). 2NT, if shows extra per pd agreement, is better than 3C. whereagles' sequence is a good one.
  5. not an opening hand to me: 11 (at most average) hcp, bergen's count of (not good) 19 , and 24 Zar points.
  6. To bid 2nd suit has been my priority. This is an easy 2D.
  7. That's the easy and quick solution, if pd knows what 5C means.
  8. Actually, I missed one option: double. When I tried to go back and added it, another topic was created. I asked admin to delete one, but the one with dbl was deleted instead. :(
  9. Both Vul, IMP, bidding went: - - - - - - (Pass) - pass (1S) - 2S - 3S - ?
  10. [hv=d=e&v=n&n=sa105h975dk10963cqj&s=sk9hkqj1082daq7ca7]133|200|Scoring: IMP East passed as dealer and bidding went: (P) - 1H - (P) - 1NT (P) - 4H - ppp[/hv] Who is responsible for the missing slam?
  11. Even in this extreme case, pd would bid to 5C (or 5D) over my 3N overcall, but pass 3C. Counting on average holding (or prabability), 3NT would be the most reasonable contract.
  12. Did you count the tricks? You have (almost) sure 9 tricks. To count for pd with some stoppers in S is not unreasonable (while RHO denied S length).
  13. That was exactly what happened at the table. And I started to comment about the 3C overcall and triggered (I think) cherdano's post of the poll. I would bid 3NT for sure. Mike, what do you mean by RHO "psyched an unfav. first seat weak 2 bid"? I don't see any reason behind that. If you assume this way, you would never trust any bids from opps, or even from pd.
  14. you double and then bid 3C, still not strong in your method? If you couldn't mention 3C at any round, how would you get pd play 3NT?
