  1. I agree with Mike on this matter.
  2. I agree with your pass. pd's passes up to 4H is OK with me. Although dbl over 2H is reasonable but prefer pass. After all, pd's hand is lack of aces, and opps may have spade fit (up to 3D).
  3. I was going to say something similar to that, but deleted it before I finished typing, thinking it might be harsh.
  4. 1D - 1H 2H - 3C 3D - 4D 4S - 4N 5S - 5N 7H
  5. I don't buy this logic. If you opened, you opened. And if you have support for pd's suit, support sooner than later. Besides, the HCPs are good, AK plus K in pd's suit. Whether 2D would die or not, show suport for pd's suit sooner is later than later. That's why you have this problem hence the post here. Whether pd is an overbidder or not, support the support.
  6. Not an absolute "No", but could be taken in that way. It could be taken as double fit (especially if two-suit RCK is agreed between partnership), I like cue-bidding H first for the given hand.
  7. My understanding on the sequense is as follows: 1) North can not bid 2H over 2D, as that would show at least 4 hearts; 2) North doesn't want to bid 4D over 3S, as that would show support for diamonds (3+) 3) Even if North bid 4D over 3S, South's choice would still be 4S. North then had to bid 5H to show heart control. Remember that q-bid from the lowest level is not necessarily save space.
  8. Pass, wtp? I read it wrong. But I still pass anyway.
  9. Yes, North can refuse the 10th trick by playing low (not the Q). Then South got the last three tricks.
  10. I am really surprised to see so many "experts" here chose to rebid S (1S or 2S) while ignoring 8-card bag. You can't afford to shorten your trump (assume S) if C suit can't setup. And you can't afford to shorten trump if you need to run your C suit. Unless pd has 5-card S, in which case she would respond 1S, I will completely ignore the S suit no matter how good it is.
  11. 1) Double (bid NT later), wtp? 2) Of course. Never pass a hand with three aces. 3) 2H. 4) HA and ruff a heart. Cash all minor Aces and Kings and cross-ruff (ruff D with SAK, and ruff H with small spades). You count 7S+1H+2D+2C.
  12. Well, if I want to be aggressive, I would treat it as 3-card LR. If I feel conservative, I would raise to 2H only.
