If EAST throws a heart, it also makes. If East throws a club, it also makes, if East throws the spade JACK it also makes, so in fact, EAST has to discard at trick one the Spade 8, 6, or 4 or else it will make. Quite a small difference between he can't throw only the spade 2 or else it makes. But really, the first problem is more interesting than the second. Ben I don't see how east throwing a heart gives the contract. I want to know ;)

Never ceases to amaze me how seriously some people take online bridge(and sometimes themselves). Any issue that can't be resolved at the table,can't be resolved here. Any issue that can't be resolved internally in a private club,can't be resolved here. If it can't be resolved within the "proper" channels.....move on..... if a player can't accept the rules of a club,don't apply membership. It's beyond me how a couple of not-alerted bids can amount to all this,is it worth it? I reckon there should be about 1000 new threads about that every day.....if it was. I never get to know exact count :D 3NT seems appropriate opposite 11,after the X major game seems unlikely. hmmm, are we sure we got this right? 1♦ was explained as 11+ hcp by a passed hand? Seems odd agreement. And, here is a hand from this same pair. Once again a passed hand gives a one diamond response to 1C.... Instead of 11+ hcp, the responder has 3. Instead of leaping to game with 14 hcp and a nice club suit this time, opener just rebids 1S. Seems insonsistent. I wonder it the opponents asked what 1D was and the diamind bidder explained what he had rather than his agreement? No adjust gets my vote. :unsure: why can't 1D be X'ed if alerted? Don't see how 3NT can be defeated on wests hand anyway?

I suggested this somewhere,individually setting of alert when friends log on. I still think it's a good idea in this thread :) I would also be happy if ALL Friends and Yellows showed in Lobby view,no matter what display setting,country setting,I would still like to see my friends at all times

I'm also using XP SP1 and after updating to 3.8.4 on BBO I shut down BBO. Then proceeded to start BBO again,and the update window appeared and installed nicely. I'm sure occasionally programs can be active in the memory for awhile,but my guess is this has nothing to do with the BBO program....... <_<

Yes,I know but when i choose lobby view of only my country,all yellows and all friends from other countries are not showing.

I mentioned that in another post regarding 3.8.2 I agree,would be nice with yellows and friends showing on all different Lobby view settings. :)

One small option I would have found uselful is regarding people I have marked as Friends. Being able to set individually the notification,because now it's either having to click away the bubble every time a friend comes on,or not being alerted at all. I would also like to see all my Friends in lobby view if I choose a lobby filter like only players from my country,and not just the Norwegian friends. B)

Yes,and declarer does not get to see defenders cards if a declarer claim is rejected. When declarer/or defender claims a certain number of tricks,he has to show the opposition that it is a correct claim,and only by showing all cards will this work. I also don't think any reference to how it works f2f is relevant,since we're not playing f2f. :)

I find this idea fascinating,but not sure how it can be done practically. Maybe a "pilot" where all teams play all the other teams,then say the top 14 or so teams form the BBO "First League",the next 14 or so form the BBO "Second League" and so on,depending on how many teams. I would suggest at least 16 brd matches,and each team probably need 8 players. Obviously no player can be on more than one team.... Then after 13 rounds (if 14 teams) there would be promotion/relegation of 3 teams or so. Almost like a mini championship teams tourney B) Or am I just dreaming? :unsure:

thx G When I said "outside BBO UI" I meant some additional program made by BBO to ease work or have more options for TDs available,I was not looking for any post-tourney manipulations. Just sometimes people ask for adjust......and then the tourney is over and I found no means to correct score :)
