  1. Cos you did not bid 2hts four losers, forcing, 5/6 hts prob the later and a dfit.
  2. At the table there is only one person on your side. If the top players are an example after the competition they tear strips of each other then start over as if nothing has happened. I find artificial politeness offensive. However two friends can say things to each other without creating offence.
  3. By the way losing a club will rectify the count whatever good that may do!
  4. No phil the only chance of four club tricks is a stiff king on your left then finesse against 10,9 on right, however unlikely then you do not need d finesse so small to Ac, and small to Q assuming it does not drop king on first round the we need two diamonds so chance is 50% plus a tiny bit for singleton k of clubs, if clubs split badly and we need three d tricks the you have to play for Kx on your right. Good luck in the Ryder cup.
  5. It seems to me Caitlynne is spot on, I do not see how leading the knave cane be right as it will be covered or lose, except. On bbo! So two spades fivehearts and two da and a club is still not enough. We needto play clubs for no losers , if we cannot then we need d finesse so play clubs first. Now its a standard play you all know if we lose one then we need d finesse
  6. Cannot talk to p at all on ipad host or not, seems best but could be useful if teaching. Then its all clear to everyone at the table. But how do you get teaching table on ipad?
  7. Well done food for thought. I think i have a solution but not telling obviously.
  8. Dependng on your system 1nt would show the strength, not two but 2d would be our style as a ucb
  9. Am with you kaitlyn, not yeti's somewhat artifical construction.
  10. 2d first time and then least problem , 1nt just causes issues.
  11. Whilst the ratings may be overexagerated is the site still working?
  12. Cme n folks the question was what d you bid nw havng oened, there is n choic 's bid is forcng for ne round so you MUST bid 2s
  13. And your theory it must be five is not sound what do you bid on kxx, kxx, xxxx, xxx, do you want to be declarer in nts?
  14. Kaitlyn the question was whats the worst hand, look at the actual hand! The only logical explanation is the bidder taking achance on you having one ace or a lucky lead. Its bad bidding thats the point. There is no way the bid can be a try for seven whither slow arrival? blackwood cue bids all sorts of bids are available on the actual hand all better than 6d The right bid would seem to be 5nt gsf, 6c reply neither 6d. One of ak of d so on actual hand 6d is raised to 7

  16. My suggestion would be have a regular p or three and arrange to play with em, set up your own table and if you want enter a competition with one of your p's
  17. There are very few "nevers" in bridge but be reluctant to lead dbltns in side suits unless p has bid them is not a bad guide because you are often setting up a side suit for declarer. And whether you get a ruff depends on whether you will win a trump trick early and have a spare low trump with which to ruff is also a key factor. On the bidding you gave to four hts i would be incined to lead a trump to cut down ruffs in dummy. By and large advanced and less advanced players do not lead trumps frequently enough.
  18. X whats the alternative? Whats the problem?
  19. In casual play it seems to me right that anyone can have undos, ask questions anytime as it is impossible to agree a defined system with random partners and the score is irrelevant, most people are playing for fun and to learn, or should be, if they want something else play in the competitions where it must be as in a formal competition. Full rules, claims explained in detail etc. The few decent players in casual play are usually teaching and, so far as am concerned, their pupils can ask any questions they want, anytime, have undos as the important thing is that they are keen to learn and the more good players the better as there are precious few good players who play in Bbo other than in closed competitions. I feel very sanguine, which means strongly by the way, we should give everyone who wants to lean or teach the maximum latitude so to do. Incidentally I have noticed it is by and large the weaker players who bother about this and the score in casual play.
  20. So ggwhizz is it ok to bid nevously when you are strong and if opps take an inference is then their fault or were you cheating? Same pace same tone is de rigeur thats why we have bidding boxes and screens.
