  1. These are 3 ACES, how you can't PASS with that hand, that's CRAZY!!! Actually every A+A+K=5 controls should be opened, there are 6! I absolutely AGREE with Ben! Stefan
  2. This one looks right for me ... Pass with 6 controls and 5th suit, what's the name of your teacher? :) Stefan
  3. 1NT!!! Pass is a little crazy, I may have good minor game or score. If 1NT was NF I would pass, but when I have 1NT-F1 I prefer to use this toy. Stefan
  4. Hi, I play: 1) 4M - 6-7,5 tricks depend of the Vuln; 2) 4m - Namyats - 8-8,5 tricks; 3) 2♣ - any GF in hand; 4) 1M - std opening - 5-7 losers; 5) 2♦ - multi - weak 2s in one major OR 23-24 hcp, balanced hand OR unicolor semi-GF. Examples: 1) ♠AQJ10xxxx ♥xx ♦x ♣xx 2) ♠AQJ10xxxx ♥Ax ♦x ♣xx 3) ♠AKQJ10x ♥AKx ♦x ♣KQJ 4) ♠AJ10xx ♥QJx ♦Kx ♣QJ10 5) ♠AKQJ10x ♥Axx ♦x ♣KQJ I hope that this scheme and these examples will help you! Stefan
  5. We NV, they V - PASS, else - 6♣. Stefan
  6. I would bid 1NT - balancing position, values in each suit, no good unicolor to bid it, and I don't like the Pass, so I voted for 1NT. Stefan
  7. At my tourneys if someone is disconnected and when log on want to be replaced I first ask the sub and if he is ok I replace the regular player. Very interesting is that every sub which I ask say "OK, replace me", nobody want to stay. Stefan
  8. Hi Flame, I wonder why there are only 2 answers. I voted for ♣K, but if I would lead ♣ it would be ♣Q which shows ♣KQ10 at least (or second Queen). Stefan
  9. Hi, If I play at Indy with Beginner/Novice I try to get the NT or to bid non-standard to get the play and my partner to be dummy, but never bid ridiculous! If I play pairs/teams tourney I play with my partner like at normal tourney, very very rarely I try to get the play. Stefan
  10. Good golly, I have trouble remembering the basics! :( It's easy to remember that: every suit-bid (except 2♦) promise Ace like the color of the suit - when responder bid blacksuit - ♠ or ♣ then he has black Ace (♠A or ♣A), when responder bid red suit - ♥ or ♦ then he has red Ace - ♥A or ♦A. 2M promise only one Ace w/o Kings, 3m promise one Ace and one King, and 3M promise 1 Ace and 2 Kings, it's graduated, and the bids which you should remember are 2♦, 2NT and 3NT. If this one looks difficult for you, there is possibility to change the 3rd-level bids with 3♣ which means two Ace, but then you can't show combinations of Aces and Kings. Stefan
  11. imho it's a psychic bid but not exactly. I would vote for "pure psychic bid, but close to creative", but there is no such answer so I voted for the 1st variant. :) Stefan
  12. I will use option 2., imho my hand is invitational, if partner has no fit I'll close to 3♣. Stefan
  13. Hi, see this scheme: 2♣-? -2♦ - 0-7 hcp, no Aces, no two Kings -2♥ - 1 red Ace (♥ or ♦) -2♠ - 1 black Ace (♠ or ♣) -2NT - 8+ hcp or 2 Kings at least; no Aces -3♣ - one black Ace and one King(any) -3♦ - one red Ace and one King(any) -3♥ - one red Ace and two Kings(any) -3♠ - one black Ace and two Kings(any) -3NT - two Aces another scheme: 2♣-? -2♦ - 0-1 controls* -2♥ - 2 controls -2♠ - 3 controls -2NT - 4+ controls -3♣/3♦/3♥/3♠ - natural, 5+ cards, 2-3 controls *control - Ace=2 controls, King=1 control; for example:♠xx♥Axxx♦Jxxx♣Kxx - this hand has 3 controls - Ace(2 controls)+King(1 control)=3 controls About the scheme after 2♣-2any-2NT it should be the same like after opening 2NT imho. Stefan
  14. For me everything depend of the VUL: We NV, opps V: it might be very light - 0-6 hcp. NV vs NV or V vs V: like opening - 6-10 hcp. We V, opps NV: it's an opening hand with good suit. When I'm doing jump overcalls I have principles: NV vs V: down 3/4 V vs V or NV vs NV: down 2/3 V vs NV: down 1/2 Stefan
  15. This auction is RIDICULOUS. How hand which open first weak 2s rebid 3♦ and after DBL ... I wouldn't answer to this question because I never have seen similar auction, it's ridiculous. Stefan
  16. That's a GREAT idea. I have about 900 friends in my friend-list, but I want to know when log on are only 50-60. I have stopped the notification when my friends log on because I over and over again hear BEEP-BEEP-BEEP I hate this voice. Stefan
  17. 1. Small to 10 - it's safety for 4 tricks. 2. Q - it's not safety but it's the best imho. 3. Small to 6 - it's not safety but it's the best imho. 4. This one looks a little silly for me because there is only one variant - small to K and small to small, the chance is double Ace (or singleton Ace or Jack in RHO). I mean that you can't give 2 tricks because then the slam is going down. Stefan
  18. 5♥ looks fine for me - let's play slam if partner has good trumps ... Stefan
  19. a.) NO! - I don't like opening weak 2s with 6-4 (esp. in 1st and 2nd position) and the hand isn't offensive b.) NO! - Should try to get the score c.) NO! - Just NOOO! Stefan P.S. for Poky. In this situation I say just "No luck" and continue with the next game. :D
  20. I'm on the minimum, I have no stopper ♥ => 4♣
  21. Hah, this theme is very discussed last days. :) I wait Frederick's comment! :D Stefan
  22. I never heard that toy, but I like the aggressive (modern) openings and don't like the idea to change my weak openings with these stronger pre-empts. BTW these strong pre-empts came much much rarely than the normal pre-empts. But if you so like the idea to play these openings you can mix - 2♠/2♥(Trent) and 2♦-multi. Stefan
