  1. I think there is the same problem again. Yesterday everything was fine, now I can't log in. "Logging on. Please wait..." -> "Connection lost. Reconnecting...". My settings are: ServerHostName1=sat.bridgebase.com ServerPort1=9999 I tried with port 80 and bbo.bridgebase.com, but it doesn't work.
  2. OK, I spend some time more ......... I think Eddie and Roland are right. :) :) P.S. In my first post I said that there must have a way to make this game. :) P.S. 2 There must be a way to improve the defence ...... puffff ....
  3. OK, that makes, I missed the stupid "step 4" where RHO plays ♣. When RHO get on ♠A (step 3) he plays immediately ♥Q and if you dicard ♣ he plays small ♥, if you discard ♦ he plays ♣.
  4. 5. Cash one round of trumps (as i posted before when i wrote it first time in 2.1 i jumped over this step) 6. lead a ♦: if LHO puts in the 10, we have to win, else LHO cashes a club (i reverted steps 5-6) 7. Play trump to ♠Q, removing opps trumps 8. play diamond and let it ride to 9♦ (second trick lost) 9. East plays ♥ and you discard club. This is the ending: [hv=n=sh1087dac7&w=shdj10c1093&e=shqj954dc&s=sk3hd65c5]399|300|[/hv] Your 10th trick will be ♥10 6. Lead a ♦: LHO plays SMALL DIAMOND Try to make it now ...
  5. No, I think this works. Trick 1: Heart to Ace. Trick 2: Club Jack around Trick 3: Club Queen to King and Ace. Trick 4: Spade to Ace Trick 5: Diamond ducked Trick 6: Queen of Hearts, ducked. Trick 7: Small heart (not the J), ruffed high. Let's assume that West discarded clubs on both. [hv=n=s65htdakc7&w=s98hdqjtck&e=sthj954d8c&s=skq3hd654c]399|300|[/hv] Looks like 1 high trump, then two diamonds, then ruff a small club, ruff a small diamond, and the high trump. Let's assume West discarded at least one diamond. Now two high trumps, then two diamonds, then ruff a small club, then cash the last diamond. Looks like it makes either way. After Trick 4 (Spade to Ace) why defenders play ♦? East plays ♥Q.
  6. Please take a pack of cards and test it. I'm willing to take any bets on this one I got some paper, it works better. I'm also up for any bets. :) Now if it isn't problem please write some declarer play against the best defence where you make 4♠ for sure, because it's a mess now. And when you write it I'll come and try my best to improve the defence! :) P.S. Maybe I'll come to Mamaia's festival, so one bet for a drink is ok! B)
  7. LOL, good one!!! P.S. Sorry for flooding! :D
  8. In Poland you say: "♦ kills NT". In Romania you say: "♥ kills NT". In Bulgaria we say: "♣ kills NT". ;) My lead is standard - ♥K. The killing lead imho is ♠9.
  9. 2.1) When you play the last heart West ruff, draw diamond and play diamond and East overruffs. Defence makes 1♦+♠A+2 ruffs; 2.2.1) I can't understand your idea, but after ducking of ♦ East play hearts and you will go down again; 2.2.2) The "known" theme is to go down. I spend about 40-50 minutes analysing this board and I think there is no way to make 4♠ with excellent defence.
  10. When ♥Q win, they stop playing hearts and you go 1 down, because there is no squeeze. There is a way to make this game (for sure), but now is a bit late ... I'll think about it tomorrow.
  11. Yeah, these two are clear (especially the second one ;)), but I meant some general solving of this problem.
  12. I just finished a TM. I played a board where opps bid to 5♣ and my partner DBL. (My cards were posted ♠QJxxx♥J10xx♦xx♣10x.) I bid pass and before the pass of the opp I tried to lead ♠Q, I clicked 2-3 times, and when the opp passed my cards replaced to ♣10x♥J10xx♠QJxxx♦xx and I led the ♣10. I tried to find some option to stop this replacing, but I didn't find such, so it will be great if you add such option. Stefan Skorchev
  13. What I can do to change this practice? I think there are a few options: 1. To post this to "Suggestions for the software" and to hope that Fred will read it and will disallow editing the tourney when it is created; 2. To send an e-mail personally to Fred ... ; 3. To send an e-mail to Abuse@... when I see such changing of the settings... ; 4. Something else (anyone can suggest). Stefan Skorchev
  14. I played tourney #1357 Pairs BAND OF BROTHERS (21.07.06), I'll not post the name of the TD, because of the policy of this forum. Firstly tourney was set to 4 boards, when we start I saw that it's changed to 6 boards. I play in BBO from 3-4 years ago and this is an usual practic of the TDs. They change the format (# of boards, movement, scoring etc.) as they want at any time. There are many reasons why this practice should be stopped, at least most of the players have work and their time is planned. P.S. I'm sure I'm not the first one who is posting on this theme, but the problem is still not solved. Stefan Skorchev
  15. You can't believe there are such players who say "pass"; well we are at least in some agreement. I can't believe there are players who post in this particular forum who bid so badly with 2S. I said that I can't believe there are players who bid automatically PASS, w/o any thinking! (No offence intended!) Skorchev
  16. What I play: 1st way: (1.) 1m-1♥-2♥-2♠ (2.) 1m-1♠-2♠-2NT (3.) 1♥-2♥-2♠ (4.) 1♠-2♠-2NT The last bid shows game try in long suit, it shows usually more points than distribution. The short-suit invites are with less points, more distribution. In (1.) and (3.) 2NT instead of 2♠ shows shortness in ♠s. 2nd way: Everything is the same, the only difference is that the next possible bid shows shortness, and the other bids are showing invites with long suits. 17. With two of my partners I play suction. It's working perfecly! The difference is that 1♠ shows ♠+♦ or ♥+♣ and 1NT is ♣ or ♦+♥, and we use it up to level 7. Against not a good players this work very very well. Against regular pairs it works good, do not win always, but much better than natural interferences. For example once against regular partners (Advanced skill level) after suction interference they played 4♥ with 4-2 "fit", and I had 6 cards in ♥! ;) Skorchev
  18. 2♠ is the bid, no matter if I have agreed to fit 1♠ with 3 good cards. I still can't believe how there are such a players who say PASS, and don't think about the 2♠? <_< Even 2♦ looks better than 1NT. Stefan Skorchev
  19. Hi, (Sorry in advance if that is posted before!) I write this post because I feel very disappointed from the GIBs! Last days when I played in the Main Bridge Club and scored normal results I loosed lot of IMPs because of the bad play of GIB. When I write this post there are 50 tables in play with 3 GIBs at each one, 42 tables are playing IMPs, 5 tables - MPs, 2 tables - Total Points and 1 table plays Rubber. Even the appeals of the Yellows the users continue to play on IMPs and MPs. I think something must be done. For example don't allow the software to score GIB tables on IMPs/MPs. Regads, Skorchev
  20. Hi, I think that TDs can play only if tourney is small (max 9-10 tables). Yesterday I played tournament with 27 tables (registration was open, but tnx God only 54 pairs registred), format was Survivor (I think 5% cut), 8 boards, 1 board per round. There was no announcment that TD is playing and whole the tourney was terrible - many adjustments, some disconnections and also at the half TD was disconnected. However the tournament end up succesfully, but it was just a horror. If Abuse interests who was the TD - call me ptivately on BBO (My nickname is "Skorchev"). Regards Skorchev
