But I got around it by enabling the Compatibility View. Will watch for patches/updates, but meanwhile just do that.

IE9 seems to be the culprit, at least I get the same symptoms.

You say there is another TD, albeit not on duty. I think it would be a good idea for him/her to cover rulings at your table in these circumstances. (and for you to cover his/her table when s/he is on duty).
