  8. Would want to join the event as well. As for rule 5, I was thinking about it, cannot we have some form of notification system in the BBO client as well? There are at least a few ways to get this done as well, firstly we could make a club, and send out notifications through there. Secondly there is the news feed so, that is almost perfect for it as well, and you see it by default when you log into bbo. I might understand that nobody would want to spam to their friends bbf forum annoucments, but we could just make a user account for that.
  9. Congrats on the win. I was a bit confused on the fact that JEC tried not to bid games. I think we had this type of a swing (bid game vs not bid game) on about 4 boards, 3 of which was us bidding it and him not.
  10. For time issues - simple solution: If you put up 2 weeks for the finishing the group stage - then finish it in 3 days - do not complain that other people play it slower. The situation is pretty silly when you put up how much was 14 days for RR, then most people finished playing quite fast although some decided to use time allocated more freely - as a organizer you cannot keep anything against them for that, expect just checking on things is moving forwards. Now if the best solution is to make a BBF private event just because time allocation is wrong, that is just silly. Id suggest have something along the lines of: Two formats - one a longer format, where a person is expected to play ~1 challange a day, which seems reasonable, or say a knockout over 5 days. And a turbo format which is say some 8 man knockout which lasts just one weekend/week or whatever slower time format you want to keep In that case you get best of both worlds.
  11. The hands from 7 to 11 had actually quite few not so easy decisions to make - which our side managed to butcher.
  12. The OP was short club, so the offer stands for that. Also, why do you have to miss 5-3 fits when opening 1C? If you are minimum, sure that is a problem, but that is the same tradeoff, when you open 1N, so it should not be that bad. For game going hands - add some option for puppet stayman? @Nullve The idea to use 2C as natural comes from Nightmare, where they play weak NT, with intermediate 2C, and forcing 1C - something inbetween Natural and Fantunes, you can say.
  13. Not a pretty idea but how about playing precision 2 club opening? Obviously that needs other tweaks. This is a solution to the problem of unbalanced hands in competition. As the 1X, not clubs openings are not balanced, you could in theory play them F1 round, like Fantunes, in that case have to identify what other problems we will have, likley how the problem is on how we implement Gazilli here.

  18. Not having played that much polish club, id still go with a variation of the following: Up to range of 1D, as it shows an unbalanced hand anyway, and you would want to open that more, if partner resists, ask him, how often does he pass 1D? If the answer is infrequent, it should not be a problem. As to keep 1D limited, I'm assuming you are playing multi, so you can add the strong D hand types there.
  19. phoenix214 - ovncylmz 6.5-3.5 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:490aa4d4.da8b.11e6.90ac.0cc47a39aeb4-1484420244&u=phoenix214 phoenix214 - diana_eva 5.5-4.5 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:3b8d9bf0.da8b.11e6.90ac.0cc47a39aeb4-1484420221&u=phoenix214
  20. The title gives it away a bit, but what do you do in the following situation? 3C range is quite wide. Anyhow what is the best plan to progress on the hand? [hv=pc=n&s=sak9hkj754daq6cq8&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=pp3c]133|200[/hv]

  22. Similar to what you would if you are playing a 2!C(Strong) - 2!D(Waiting), likely using fast arrival, combined with Serious/Frivolous 3N + splinters on lvl 4.
  23. Dummy should keep his mouth shut during play, but may point out after. I have had the following happen a few times - me being dummy a revoke goes unnoticed - so what - I have to keep my mouth shut anyway about it. Just ask my p later if she noticed it or not.
  24. I was surprised about the number of people who went down in this one - decided to share the board. [hv=pc=n&s=saj32hak964d8ca74&n=sk8h752da9764ct32&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=p1hp2hp4hppp]266|200[/hv] Lead is CQ, Scoring is MP. Plan the play - in the case opps are GIB, but it should not matter much.
